Coming to Life

A QUESTION:
In revelation 20:4 in the kjv it says people have been beheaded and
are getting white robes and are crying out to God. That sounds like the immortal soul idea.
But if you read revelation 20:5, it says some of the other dead didn't come back to life until the 1000 years were over.
This sounds like the soul coming back to life idea.
So which one is right? Both or either or?

I think you may be thinking of Rev.6:9,10,11.
They are the ones given white robes and are crying out, after being slain.

Rev.20:4 and Rev.6:11 does not say that those in white robes, were never dead. 
It says they had died, and then, "came to life". 
They then "reign" (2Tim.2:12), "sit on thrones" (Matt.19:28; Rev.3:21; Eph.2:6), and have "authority to judge" (John 20:21,22,23;  1Cor.6:1,2,3) and they do this, during Christ's thousand year kingdom (Luke 22:69; Ps.110:1,2;  1Cor.15:25).
In fact, it says that they were beheaded. If you look more closely at Rev.20:5, it actually reads that "the rest of the dead" did not attain life, until after the first group. 
Do you not see that if the second group is "the rest of the dead"... that the first group was also dead?
Before you conclude that this is speaking of physical life and death, consider Rom.5:12,17; Eph.2:1,2.
These two groups come to life, when they accept and obey, the teachings of Christ 
(John 6:54,57,58,63;  1Pet.1:23) which birth, is by means of a death (Gal.6:14; Col.2:20;  1John 5:4; Mark 8:35).

Continuing in it's description of Rev.20:5 "the rest" do not come to life until after the thousand years. Regarding the first group, the end of verse 4 states; "And they lived and reigned with Christ during the thousand years".
Can you see that the difference in coming to life, is not about an immortal soul, but rather,
when the two different groups, come to life?
--The first group is "during the thousand years".
--The second group, "after the thousand years have ended".
During the interval between the two, 
   the first group is alive, 
   the second group is not yet alive.
It is not because one group is immortal and the other is not.

The most important thing to note in Rev.20:4,5, is WHY both groups, come to life.
Let's start with the group that are already alive, and see why.
They were beheaded, and given a white robe. AS we will see, this indicates why they have gained life.
Please compare that to Rev.6:9,10,11.

There we learn that a white robe is given for the righteous act of dying for Christ and truth (Mark 8:35; Rev.19:8), which the first group of Rev.20:4 has already done.
Apparently the second group, did not do that yet... But they will, after the "thousand years" have ended Rev.20:5). That later group is the same as those mentioned, at Rev.6:11.

Please continue to compare Rev.6:9,10,11 to Rev.20:4,5 until you perceive the two different groups mentioned in both citations, clearly.
The two eras that each group comes to life in, is also noted at Rev.1:19.

We begin to see what is required to gain a white robe (and eternal life), and that the first group achieves the required goal first. Then there is a second group, who attains the required goal, after the first group.

Is dying for divine truth, really a required goal in order to gain eternal life?

Rom.6:5 reads;
"For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his."

Were the martyrs in Rev.20:4 who were "beheaded", united with Christ in a death like his?
Well, why were they killed?
"And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God."

Of Jesus, John 8:40 Reads;
"As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God."
As we know, the Jewish leaders did kill Christ, for declaring God's truths.

Note what Jesus told us, at Mark 8:35...
"For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it."

There Jesus tells us, that if we lose our life for the gospel (the truths of God), we will, as a result, gain our life.

So, those beheaded, gained life. They suffered a death for the truths of God.
Not only did they declare those truths, they believed them and lived by them.

Of such ones, Jesus said;
"Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life." (John 5:24)
What kind of life?
Was this life... an indefinite extension of physical life, or an eternal spiritual life?

"Jesus answered “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit." (John 3:6)

"The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life." (John 6:63)

Have you discerned from these scriptures, that life results from faith in the words of Christ (the truths of God),
--when a testimony about that faith is given...
--a death like Christ, follows that testimony,
 ---and this all results in the granting of spirit life by God's spirit?...
...even while we yet reside in our flesh (Rom.8:9-11,12-14; John 8:51).

You may wonder then, "How one can be alive physically, if they have already "died" for the truth?"
Note Rom.8:13 (and Col.3:5,6; Gal.5:24) to see that there are "deaths" other than physical.
A "death" for truth, also results, by the hand of those with whom we battle (2Cor. 10:4,5,6; Rev.17:14)... Satan's agents of religious deception (John 16:2; 8:40) have the power to expel and condemn as worthy of a spiritual death, those against whom they bring false charges (usually blasphemy, sedition, heresy, or apostasy) (Matt.26:65,66; John 12:42; 9:22; 16:2; Rom.6:5; John 15:20).

We learn by Rom.6:5, that in order to attain such a spirit life, we must be willing to die like Christ, for testifying to those words of life and truth.
This is confirmed, at Rev.6:9-11, where we hear of others who have died such a faithful death, who are also, crying out.
Note what reply is given to them...

"When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been."

The "full number" of God's witnesses, must be killed for the word of God and a testimony to it.
Only when that full number is completed, will God's judgment and vengeance arrive.
Spirit life results from a death for truth (Mark 8:35).
Those already killed and crying out, have already attained their spirit life (Rev.20:4).
They are waiting for the "rest" "to be killed, just as they had been", so that "the rest" also, can come to life (Rev.20:5).

Since these killed ones (at Rev.6:9,10,11) are also speaking, we can safely conclude the truthfulness of Christ's words,
that they have "passed over from death to life" (John 5:24).
It is crucial that we keep in mind, that such eternal life is spiritual, not physical.

You ask about "an immortal soul idea".
Well, had these martyrs not proven faithful, they would not have gained eternal spirit life.
They gained it after spirit granted it to them, as a reward,
based upon their "deaths" for truth (Mark 8:35; James 1:12; Rev.2:10).
They did not already possess it, but it was given to them.
An eternal spirit, is a reward for those who faithfully conquer the world and it's persecutions 
(Rev.21:7; 22:14; 2:17; 3:19,20,21).
  This idea of gaining spirit life as a reward for a faithful testimony to truth, unto the death...can also be seen, if we look at three scriptures...

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life, that the Lord has promised to those who love him." (James 1:12)

"Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown." (Rev.2:10)

"I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown. (Rev.3:11)

Can you see that our reward of eternal spiritual life, is compared to a crown?
Note that it is given to those who prove their love for Christ by being faithful, even to the point of death (Rev.12:10,11).
Note too, that such a crown can be taken away.


Since the life possessed by the martyrs in Rev.20:4, has been achieved through faithfulness,
there was a time in their lives, before that faithful witness and death was accomplished, correct?

Such ones did not always have that gift of life.
It was only given to them, after they had proven faithful.
Before they were granted spiritual life, they were still spiritually dead.
Remembering this, helps us with Rev.20:5...
"The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended."

So,
our first group of martyrs, "came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.".
Clearly,
they attained living spirit during the symbolic "thousand years".
They were faithful witnesses of the truths of God and Christ, and died for that testimony, during Christ's "thousand year" reign.

Not so those in Rev.20:5, of which we read;
"The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years had ended."

"The rest of the dead" indicates that the first group had also been spiritually dead,
but they "came to life" during the "Thousand Years".
This second group "did not come to life until the thousand years were ended".
So this second group, also comes to life.
The difference, is  when.

It will not be possible for you to understand these two verses, if you are viewing life and death as physical.
Not only are these verses speaking of life as spiritual;
they are speaking of death, as spiritual.

One can be alive or dead in a spiritual sense, even while physically alive.
Some examples of being spiritually dead, while physically alive, are:

"To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead." (Rev.3:1)
Here Jesus is speaking to someone physically alive, yet is considered by Christ, to be spiritually dead.
That person has not yet, "come to life".

"The widow who lives for pleasure is dead, even while she lives." (1Tim. 5:6).

And so,
when we read Rev.20:4,5,
we see that there are witnesses of God who are given the gift of spiritual life during two different time periods.

The first group to share in Christ's resurrection to spirit (1Pet. 3:18; Rom.8:9; Mark 8:35; John 16:2), are killed for their testimony and receive spirit life during Christ's thousand year reign.

The "rest" of those to receive such a reward (Rev.20:5), (who are also mentioned at Rev.6:11);
receive their eternal spirit lives for their testimony to the death,
after Christ's thousand year reign.

Why is this?
Well, if you read more of Rev.20, we learn in verse 7, that Satan is let out of the abyss at the end of that "Thousand years". He has an alliance working with him (Rev.20:8,10) which alliance is also described in various other depictions, throughout Revelation.

Verses 8-10 go on to explain the result of Satan's release
 (also shown at Rev.16:13,14,15,16; 17:14).

At the end of the thousand years and Satan's release,
there is a widespread and all consuming deception, released by Satan and his two agents...
the Wild Beast and the false prophet.
Scripture discloses that God's people are completely devoured by this great force 
(Rev.13:7,10; Col.2:8; Luke 21:24,20; Rev.20:7-9).
They are unable to "come to life" through a death for truth...
       (receive their "crown"/get "sealed" as slaves of God), 
...while under the influence and dominion of Satanic deception through his agents, during the Great Tribulation (Rev.9:6).

Rev.13:7 confirms...
"The Wild Beast ("locust-scorpion" collective**) was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation."
Dan.7:21,25; 8:11,12,17,19,24,25; 11:31-32,33,34,35,36,37;  2Thess.2:4;  1Cor.3:16

Those who are faithful servants of God and His laws, are symbolically marked as such (Deut.11:18).
Those conquered by the Beast, submit to it, and receive it's mark on their forehead (Rev.13:16,15).

Any who refuse to render such worship to the Beast's Image, are killed (Rev.13:15).
If any were to wake up, and take a stand against the lies of the Beast (in order to testify to God's truths), they would,
like the faithful martyrs before them, be killed (Rev.11:3,7; 13:10; 6:11; Matt.5:11,12).
It was the same in the first century (John 9:22; 7:13; Matt.23:29,30,31,34,35,36,37,38). 
So it is the same, today (Rev.18:24; John 16:2; Rev.11:3,7).

Yet those who receive spirit life after Satan's release (and after the thousand years), would be "coming to life" "after the thousand years have ended", just as Rev.20:5 stated.

For more confirmation of this interpretation,
let us return to the latter half of verse 4;
In speaking of those resurrected first...
"They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

Note that those who gained spirit life first,
never worshiped the Beast or it's image, and had not received it's mark.
  The Beast had not yet been released from the abyss along with Satan (Rev.20:7).
Yet after the thousand years ends, Satan is released...
and his Beast and False prophet then emerge in the era of the second group. (Rev.16:13,14;  1Tim.4:1). 
They succeed in conquering and slave-marking, the Chosen Elect (Matt.24:24,25; Rev.13:7).

Previous to their waking up, repenting, and giving testimony (Matt.25:5,6,7; Rev.11:3; Joel 1:13),
God's chosen ones alive in this post-thousand year period,
were still spiritually dead (Eph.2:1,13; John 3:18).
They do not come to life, until they conquer their circumstances...
   the final, great machination of Satan, against them (Rev.12:17; 13:7,10).
  They too must give their testimony, and be killed 
(Rev.11:3,7; 12:10-11; 6:11; Mark 8:35; Rom.6:5;  1Pet. 3:18; Rev.15:2).

The Bible defines that final great assault, as the "Great Tribulation".

This is why the faithful who reign with Christ during the "Thousand Years", are depicted separately from those anointed priests who gain life during the Great Tribulation. (compare Rev.7:4 to Rev.7:9,14,17)

To grasp the truth about the thousand years, life, death, resurrection, and tribulation...
you must first adopt a spiritual viewpoint, and realize that it is just as Jesus said...
"the flesh counts for nothing" (John 6:63).

Sources of Persecution against the Holy Ones / Why must the faithful, die?

After a discussion surrounding the nature of current persecution within the WT organization against the Chosen Elect of God; and how that persecution is the means through which the anointed receive their seal, I was asked the following questions:

 1: “If the anointed need to be disfellowshipped (killed -John 16:2) in order to be sealed, then they would need to have been a part of false religion. What about before watch tower was organized? Who did the anointed have to belong to then? ”” 

 PREFACE:
Previous to the Chosen becoming mature/(sealed) into the full-grown stature of Christ (Eph.4:13-14;  1Cor.2:6,16; 13:11; 14:20; Phil.3:10), they are under the care of ("belong to") a steward/household manager (1Cor.4:1,15-16; Gal.4:1-2,19; Col.1:25; Luke 12:42). 
With spiritual growth (Heb.5:14; Col.1:28; Heb.12:23;  2Pet.1:4), comes the need for each individual to take a stand and die for the Truth 
(Mark 4:28-29; John 12:24;  1Cor.15:36; Mark 13:13; 8:35; Matt.25:6; Heb.13:13; Rom.6:5; Rev.6:9-11).

 We today, can come to recognize how that "death" is presently occurring. (see 8 links above)
The question now being asked, essentially is;
'How could the anointed who existed previous to the "Watchtower", become sealed by a death for truth?'

 NOTE: There is a pattern for those who finish the course of Christ (Phil.3:10-12,16-17;  1Pet.2:21; Matt.16:24-25; Rom.6:5-6,7-8) and become sealed.

The same destination of being sealed, has a path that varies between those who are sealed during the "Thousand Year" kingdom of Christ, and those sealed during the Great Tribulation (which occurs after the "Thousand Years"). 
This directly pertains to the question at hand, because the "thousand years" are before the emergence of the "Watchtower", and the Great Tribulation occurs when the "Watchtower" exists.

 Those sealed during the "thousand years" and before Satan's release from the abyss (Rev.20:7) (and his subsequent installation of the False Prophet and it's Beast) (Rev.16:13-16; 20:7-8; 13:1,4,11,14-15; 19:20)...
...were never conquered by those agents of Satan (Rev.20:4). 
Those who had been taken captive and conquered (Col.2:8; Rev.13:10,7) after Satan's release (and during the Great Tribulation), must repent, be washed clean, and ride forth with Christ in the battle against those agents of demonic deception (Rev.15:2; 2:26-27; 17:14;  2Cor.10:3-5; Eph.6:12).

My reply:
Your two questions are at the apex of much information, which could have subsets of questions, beneath them. To be thorough, I will break those questions down, in my attempt to make a fuller reply, clear and comprehensible.
In order to accept some of the assertions to follow; background information will need to be researched and studied before it is accepted. 
In order to stick to the questions at hand, I will not include all that information here and now, but will insert links for those who deem the assertions, unproven by scripture. Please use the linked references, as needed.

 1a: "Before the watchtower organisation"
Those with a knowledge of "Watchtower" history, are familiar with the idea that this organization started in the late 1800s. Although the organization itself, claims it's origin with God's first martyr Abel... due to it's claim of being God's collective of righteous witnesses (Matt.23:35; Heb.11:4; 12:24). 
...that claim is error. The general population of JWs, are not members of the "Chosen" Elect (Isa.43:10,21;  1Pet.2:9), nor were they all martyred on the altar of God's spiritual Temple, as were the group of martyrs to which Abel belonged (Rev.6:9-11; Heb.12:24).

 Regarding the origin of the "Watchtower", here are the facts:
The organization was formed in 1881 as Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society for the purpose of distributing religious tracts. The society was incorporated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 15, 1884. In 1896, the society was renamed Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society.
Founders: Charles Taze Russell
Place founded: Pittsburgh
And so, when you ask about the period "before the watchtower was organized", that would mean the period in which anointed existed, previous to the formation of the "Watchtower" organization.
That period would run between Pentecost 33CE (John 7:38-39; Acts 1:4-5,9; 2:1-2,3-4,32-33), to roughly around 1881.

 With that period now clarified, we can move forward.

 Next we need to grasp, that according to your question, there are two distinct periods during which, the anointed Chosen Elect members of God's Temple priesthood, exist. Both of those periods are previous to the arrival of God's eternal Kingdom.
Obviously, those two periods are 
1. 33 CE thru 1881,
and 
2. 1881 thru to the End (Rev.2:26;  1Cor.15:24-25;  2Thess.2:8;  1Cor.15:26; Rev.20:14-15;  1Pet.4:7;  2Pet.3:7,10-11,12-13)

 Those two periods, coincide with two Bible periods...
1. The "Thousand Year" kingdom of Jesus Christ

 The anointed always belong to the Body of Christ, which includes the steward appointed to feed that household (Rom.12:5; Eph.2:19; Matt.24:45). That steward can prove to be either faithful, or wicked (Matt.10:36; 24:48-49,50-51). Both the wicked and the righteous generations, exist throughout time (Gen.3:15; Matt.13:30; Rev.12:17,7)(Ps.112:2; Phil.2:15)... from Cain -vs- Abel, down to the "Two witnesses"/last chaste Virgins -vs- the last adulterous Harlot/"two-horned" false prophet (Rev.13:11; Isa.28:15)(Rev.14:4-5). It is an enmity without rest, until the final battle is won.

 The wicked appear rich, powerful, and glorious. 
The faithful, appear despised, weak, and foolish 
 (1Cor.4:8-10,11-13; Rev.3:17-18;  2Cor.11:3-5,12-15,23-25,26-27,28,29-30; 12:9-10; 13:4)
Why those contrasting appearances?
Who is it, that rules over the desire of the eyes? Who is it that bestows worldly glory, dominion, power, and riches?
The unfaithful have a respectable appearance, because they have failed the test of Satan (Luke 4:5-7). In contrast, the faithful, are given the glory of Christ (John 17:22).

 The wicked are the ones with worldly power, authority, and glory. Like the Jewish religious leaders; they are the ones responsible for the slaughter of the faithful (Matt.23:37,32,34-35; Rev.18:24; 6:10; 19:2). This has been going on, since Cain and Abel (1John 3:12; 2:9-11; 4:20-21).

 As we learned above about the maturation of the sons of the kingdom... it takes time in the individual life of each chosen one, to reach the full grown stature of Christ, which entails a death for truth. While still a babe, such ones are under the stewardship of the wicked and powerful... similar to how Jesus was (Gal.4:4; Luke 2:46,50-52; John 1:11). 
As such ones grow to recognize the umbrella of corruption they are under; their truth-loving heart chaffs under the unjust oppression and deceptive doctrine (Eph.5:11; Rev.2:2-3;  2Cor.11:12-13; Ps.26:4; Eph.4:25). They no longer wish to condone the climate of rebelliousness toward God (Eze.2:6; Rev.9:3). They long to establish their loyalty and love for their heavenly Father and the truths of Jesus Christ 
(2Cor.10:3-5; Rev.19:11,14,8; 12:10-11; 17:14).
The result? 
They faithfully follow the path of Jesus, all the way to it's inevitable end... a death for truth. They become sealed as slaves to God alone.

 There is no shortage of that wicked generation (Matt.23:33,36; Phil.2:15; John 8:44). But Jesus assures us, that if we seek them out, we will also be able to identify the righteous generation (Ps.14:5; 112:2; Matt.24:34; 7:20)... and those appointed by Jesus (Luke 12:42; Rev.11:3), who are faithful in providing the proper food at the proper time.

"What about before watch tower was organized? Who did the anointed have to belong to then?

Before the "Watchtower" organization was formed; those anointed striving to be faithful, would need to divorce themselves from the powerful religious corruption surrounding them. We have within historical accounts, many who lived that pattern of both corruption and faithfulness.
The point that I hope was gleaned, is that in order to reign with Jesus, they Chosen must also prove faithful to the death, while being sifted by Satan their enemy. That is why they need to die in order to be sealed (Rev.6:9-11; Mark 8:35; Rev.12:10-11). 

This proves that despite Satanic temptation and persecution, their love of Christ and his truths, are more important to them than their own lives... just as was the case with Jesus. By manifesting that love in their righteous actions and choices (despite threat of death), they are sealed as slaves of God and qualified to inherit the Kingdom.

Resurrection of Life or Judgment

What is the resurrection of life and the resurrection of judgement (John 5:29)?

My Reply:
I hope you will read all the scriptures, because that is where we learn the answer to your question. I have linked the scriptures, to make it easier for you to read them. For those on a computer/laptop, the scriptures will pop up if you hover your cursor over them.

To be "resurrected" by definition, literally means "to stand again", to be brought back into view or reconsidered. We all "stand again" for a second judgment.
The first standing for judgment, was toward Adam and his offspring (Gen.3:17-18,19)(scriptureLINK). 
It resulted in a condemnation of all humanity, to sin and death (Rom.5:12).
Humanity's loss of spirit life was indicated when the "tree of life" was removed from the reach of Adam and his offspring (Gen.3:22-23,24) (scriptureLINK). Without access to the fruit of the Tree of Life; human existence became finite.

The basis of judgment for the second standing (re-surrection), is based upon the teachings of the second Adam, Jesus Christ.

The essence of that teaching of the second Adam Christ, is his law of love for God and neighbor (John 15:12,17; 13:34-35) (LINK).
We either retain the original sinful father through imitation and obedience to his sinful nature, or we accept, imitate, and obey, the second Adam, Jesus Christ, as our new spiritual, "eternal father", through whom we receive eternal life (Isa.9:6; John 10:10) (LINK).

Those who reject the example and teaching of Jesus Christ, remain in spiritual darkness (1John 1:6; 2:9,11; Matt.6:23) (LINK).
Those who learn, accept, and obey him, come into spiritual light

It has recently been taught by a false prophet, that the judgment Jesus referred to at John 5:24-26,27-28,29 and Matt.25:46... is going to take place after Armageddon and during a thousand years to follow Armageddon.

Victory of Christ

QUESTION:
Good morning Pearl…I am reading all you post…but the 1000 year reign of Christ doesn’t fail does it?  1Cor.15:24 indicates that he is successful.  I am confused.  Thank you for any clarification you can give on this verse."

MY REPLY:
1Cor.15:24 tells us that at the END, Jesus will have success. 
It also tells us that at the END, all enemies will have been conquered. It also tells us that at that point (all enemies conquered and Jesus is successful) that Jesus gives over that accomplishment to the Father.

All that the verse teaches, is telling us about the final result in the end.
This verse does NOT tell us, everything that lead up to the end.
Jesus being successful, does not necessitate that he did not have any problems leading up to that success... 
nor does it tell us that all Christ's success occurs during the "thousand years".

Are you thinking that the full success of Jesus (as expressed at 1Cor. 15:24), is established previous to the end of his 1,000 year reign?
If so, it is clear that you could benefit from learning the actual timeline of events.
Although I hope to make a video in an attempt to make that timeline crystal clear, for now,

"7 Now when the thousand years have ended, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea."

Can you see there that Jesus kingdom of 1,000 years is said to be finished, 
and yet,
do you also see that ALL his enemies are not yet subdued beneath his feet?
Therefore, the full success of Jesus, in subduing all his enemies,
is not completed during his 1000 year reign.
You may notice in the verses that follow (1Cor. 15:25-26), "all enemies" but one are mentioned in verse 25. 
Verse 26 singles out the last enemy, Death. That last enemy is mentioned separately, because unlike the previous enemies; 
Death must be conquered after the 1000 year reign.

The Watchtower left us with a perverse timeline that is not scriptural.
Although it's doctrine agrees with the last enemy being conquered after the 1000 years; it teaches that the 1000 years take place, after Armageddon. That is not true, as is proven by scripture in many posts in this blog. The very battle referred to at Rev.20:7-8 cited above, IS Armageddon. As you can see from verse 7, it also occurs after the 1000 year kingdom of Christ.
The simplified, proper sequence of events, is:
*Christ enthroned in the first century, for a symbolic 1000 years
*Satan released/1000 years ends
*Great Tribulation/Death reigns over the remnant
*Armageddon/Death conquered by Christ and the remnant
*God's eternal Kingdom by Christ and his victorious heirs of 144000 and Great Crowd

First, Jesus is enthroned/becomes king, in the 1st century 
(Luke 22:69; Acts 2:33; Ps.110:1-2; *1Cor. 15:25* Rev.3:21).
During that symbolic 1,000 year kingdom, Jesus is progressively gathering into his storehouse during their lifetime... 
   Matt.28:20; Matt.24:34> Ps.112:2; Ps.14:5 NKJV
...all the anointed who prove faithful... his symbolic 144000 
(Luke 22:31; Matt.13:38; 3:12; Rev.14:14-16). 
The ruling scepter of Jesus is extended through the faithful conquerors of the world, Mount Zion 
(Rev.14:1; Psalm 110:2; Heb.12:22-23; Ps.110:1-2;  1Cor. 15:25). 
They rule with him during that thousand year kingdom, because with his help and spirit, they are conquering the enemies of Christ 
(Rev.20:6;  2Tim. 2:3;  2Cor. 10:3-5; Rev.17:14; Eph.6:11-12;  1John 5:4). 

Next,
As Rev.20:7-8 told us, the 1,000 year kingdom of Jesus ends when Satan is released from the abyss.
Satan's release causes 
*powerful, lying signs and portents/wonders (2Thess. 2:9-10,11-12;  1Tim. 4:1), 
*captivity to deception   and war... 
...the great tribulation leading into Armageddon.

That deception includes a misleading, trampling, mental captivity, torment, sifting, and seduction into idolatry of the anointed remnant who come through the time of the end...
(Col.2:8; Luke 21:24; Rev.13:10,7;  1Tim. 4:1; Rev.16:13-14; Matt.24:24-25,4-5)
...which captivity and trampling is imposed by the agents/army, of the dark powers of the abyss*, through whom the Great Tribulation is unleashed**.
This is when the "abomination of desolation"/"disgusting thing, standing in the holy place"/"standing where it does not belong"/"Jerusalem surrounded"....
         Luke 21:20; Rev.20:9,7-9; Rev.11:5,3-5; Jer.5:14 NIV 
.... arises. 

That abomination/idol, is the Anti-Christ/"man of lawlessness"... who has taken his throne over God's anointed Temple priesthood... trampling them into submission to his own idolatrous Image (Rev.13:15,7-8; 2:20).
(Matt.24:15-16; Luke 21:20-22; Rev.20:9; Mark 13:14;  2Thess. 2:3-4; Dan.7:21,25; Dan.8:11,12,13,14,17,24,25; Dan.11:31,32,33,36,37;  2Thess. 2:4).
When you read that last set of scriptures, ask yourself...
  Is Jesus still ruling over his anointed while they are being trampled and subject to Gentiles? 
  Is Jesus' scepter still being extended through the living members of Zion?
  Or, has his 1,000 year authority and power over his living anointed, come to an halt?
 
The 1000 years were successful, for their purpose... to gather in the 144000.
But after the 1000 years, there is more to do before all enemies are subdued. 
As 1Cor. 15:26 states, the last enemy Death yet needs to be conquered, and will be, during Armageddon. 
Those anointed who battle with Jesus in the time of the end, are not the original 144000 of the first resurrection. They are the Great Crowd who come through the Great Tribulation.
They are the symbolic "third" who repent of their idolatry.
No... those who battle with Christ at Armageddon against the last enemy Death, 
are those faithful anointed, alive at that time. They are the "great crowd" 
(Rev.7:13-14; 19:1; Eze.14:22-23).

Heb.4:12; Jer.23:29; Rev.19:11; 17:14;  2Cor. 10:3-5

Out of regard for how Watchtower indoctrination had damaged our belief in truth, it is imperative that we do as Jesus suggested...
get a new wine-skin to hold new wine (Mark 2:22). 
We should not take any teachings with us when we exit (Luke 17:30-32; 21:21-22; Jer.51:6 NIV   Rev.18:4) but rather, 
with a mind that is free of preconception, sample the provisions of the marriage feast (Matt.22:8-10; 24:16; Eze.36:8) Luke 17:37 NKJV . 
We can't hold on to old fallacies if we hope to have mental room for the truth. We must learn afresh, from the scriptures.

The "Day" and "Night" of a "Thousand Years"/ Two Kingdoms


Rev.20:4,5 continues:
"And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for a thousand years."

 When do the faithful heirs "come to life"? (Gal.3:29)
(John 1:4,12,13; 11:26; 5:24,25,28; Matt.4:16; John 10:9,10; 4:23,36; 6:47,50,51,40; Dan.12:7; Rev.1:20; Eph.2:6; Luke 1:79; 19:10; Eph.5:8; Isa.9:2; Luke 15:24;  1Tim. 1:15,16;  2Tim. 2:11; Rom.8:9,10,11,13,14,16;  1John 3:14)
By acceptance of Christ...his teachings and his example;
those chosen come to spirit life now, and retain that life as long as they remain in union with the true vine, the reigning Christ. (Luke 22:69; Ps.110:1;  1Cor. 15:25) (Luke 22:69; Mark 14:61,62; Luke 22:69; Heb.3:6,14; Eph.3:12;  2Cor. 3:4; John 15:4,5; Rom.11:22; Col.1:10; 2:6)
The kingship of Christ in this world, was not of worldly glory (John 18:37,36; Matt.21:5; Luke 9:58). His spiritual glory was that of grace and truth (John 1:14,17; 2:11;  1Pet. 4:14). Those who reign with Christ in his present kingdom, reign with and share it that same kind of glory, and are given authority and power over darkness, deception and death (John 1:12; Luke 10:17,18,19,20;  2Cor. 10:4,5).
by which they are also supplied with victory over Satan's power (Gen.3:15; Rom.16:20; Rev.12:8,11; 17:14;  1John 2:13,14; Luke 10:19). 
Reigning during the thousand years as kings and priests (Mal.2:7; Col.1:13; Isa.60:2), is not observable by worldly or physical standards. Those entrusted and faithful with this "little", will be assigned "much" when God's kingdom arrives.
During Christ's thousand year kingdom, the heirs learn obedience and are cleansed, preparing them for God's kingdom to come, should they accept their discipline and refinement (1Pet. 1:2; Rom.5:3; 8:17; Heb.5:8,9,10; 6:12;  2Cor. 4:17; James 1:3,4; Mal.3:1,2,3,4; Rev.3:17,18,19). 
While these kings use the "little power" they have been entrusted with as a test; those who receive the faithful or reject them are also judged secondarily. There will also arise unfaithful chosen who fail the test of discipline. There will also be secondarily, those who receive the wicked slaves and are mislead by them. This reflects their heart condition. Judgment is passed upon all, depending upon their conformity to truth and willingness to yield to it's cleansing direction.

 The Thousand Year period mentioned here is that of "Judgment Day". As all the terms in the book of Revelation, this period is symbolic, not literal. As with all Revelation symbolism, the correct interpretation is found in scripture.
Where outside Revelation, is a thousand year era mentioned? 
We can find scriptures to guide our interpretation at Psalm 90:4 and  2Pet. 3:8.

In Psalms, the thousand years is compared to both, a "day", and, "a watch in the night." In Bible times, there were four watches to a night. The first started at sunset. Each watch was for 3 hours, for a total of 12 hours of darkness.
Jesus referred to this at John 11:9,10; 9:4,5; 1:4; 3:19; 8:12; Matt.4:16. He there spoke of the light of day, as existing while he was on the earth. The bright clarity of light from Christ, was spiritual. The spiritual light from Christ is compared to the sun whose light is so bright, it brings daylight to the earth (Matt.17:2; Rev.1:16; Acts 3:20; Mal.4:2;  2Pet.1:19; Rev.22:16). Members of Christ's body can reflect his light (1Cor.12:27,8,12-13; John 14:26; Dan.5:14;  2Cor.4:6;  1John 3:2; Rev.10:1; Matt.5:14-15; Rev.4:5 NIV; 1:20).


Jesus also spoke of his faithful chosen as the light of the world (John 12:46; Matt.5:14,16; Eph.5:8;  1Pet.2:9; Luke 12:35,38). The faithful chosen do not have a glory such as Christ (1Cor.15:41), but are compared to stars (Phil.2:15; Dan.12:3). Stars do not provide light during the day, but rather during the night (Rom.13:12,11; Luke 12:38), during which time, most are spiritually asleep, or worse (1Thess. 5:2,4-5,6-7; Eph.5:14; Matt.25:5-6,7). 
Christ's chosen slaves are directed by him, not to sleep as others do during his absence of darkness, but to remain awake, vigilant, and ready to respond to his return. They are make good use of the portion of light he left them with (Matt.28:19,20; John 14:15,16,17,26; 7:39;  1John 1:1,2,3,4,5,6,7). Those who do, will receive more light when he returns (John 14:18; 16:22; Mal.3:1,3; Heb.1:6). 

The Great Tribulation separates Christ from his body members, who are also his priests and spiritual Temple. When all have left Christ, his reign over his anointed congregation members, ends. He will stand up to rescue those captives, who repent.
Once Christ does then return to his faithful spiritual temple members (Mal.3:1;  1Cor.3:16); the daylight returns with him, for those upon whom he will dawn, giving them his complete light (1Cor.13:9,10; Luke 1:78,79; Matt.13:43; 25:29,10; Rev.3:20). To him who has some genuine light (Matt.25:14,15,19,21; Eph.5:13;  1Pet.2:9), more will be given (Prov.4:18; Isa.60:1; Rev.2:28; Eph.5:14; Isa.30:26).

 The thousand year reign of Christ will be during the night that began after he departed from the earth (John 12:33,35-36). His chosen ones will stand watch during their lives (Matt.24:34; 25:21) in Satan's dark world (Eph.6:12; John 17:15), during which they will remain sons of day (1Thess. 5:5), shining their light from Christ (Matt.5:14).
This brings us to the second reference to the meaning of the "Thousand Years".
In 2Pet. 3:8, a thousand years is referred to as a "day" to God. This day will exist for those who walk in the light of Christ. While they possess that light, they shine it in the dark world (John 1:5; Acts 20:20,21,27,31;  1Tim.4:2,15,16;  1Cor.4:1; Matt.10:27,26,28; 5:14,16;  2Cor.5:18,19,20; Eph.3:1-2,3-4,5). That light is offered to all. That light is the light of life (John 1:4; 8:12). Life is offered, through light (John 1:9). The light of understanding, is also the cleansing "water" of life (Eph.5:26; John 17:17; John 1:4,9,12-13,14; 4:10,14; Rev.22:17,16,14).
What "day" offers life and light?
 2Cor.6:2 reads
"For God says, "At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you." (Indeed, the "right time" is now. Today is the day of salvation."
Now is the opportunity for life, as well as the judgement for eternal destruction (2Cor.6:1; 5:20; Rom.5:10; 2:8; John 3:18;  2Thess.1:8,9; Matt.25:32,46;  1Pet.4:17; Jer.10:25)
Christ's "thousand year" kingdom began in the first century (Luke 22:69; Matt.28:18; Psalm 110:1;  1Cor.15:25; Acts 2:33; 7:55-56). It ends when Satan is released from the abyss, and all God's chosen are conquered... taken captive to demonic deception through the false prophet and its beast. The final remnant will awaken and testify against enemies of Truth, judicially subjugating them (Ps.110:1;  1Cor.15:24,28). 

Christ's initial kingdom is symbolized by a "thousand years", because this era has a beginning and an end (as does "a watch in the night" --Ps.90:4). The number one thousand, = 10 X 10 X 10; and the purpose of this period, will establish a full testimony as to the deficiency of "earth" and "world" rulership, under Satanic deception (Eph.6:12;  2Cor.10:3-4,5; Rev.12:10-11,15; John 16:11; Heb.2:14).
Since Christ will regain his kingdom position until all his enemies are subdued, his headship is restored to the repentant, who conquer the last enemy death 
(Ps.110:1;  1Cor.15:25-26; Rev.6:7-8; 20:14,5 a).

He subdues his enemies of truth through those he is choosing and sealing to become members of heavenly Mt. Zion (Psalm 110:2; Rev.14:1; Gen.3:15; Rev.12:17). This war between agents of Truth and Lies, will climax in the battle of Armageddon (Rev.12:7,11; 17:14; 16:13,14; 11:3,7). That battle will finish the subjection of Christ's enemies. Christ fights the spiritual war, along with his sealed brothers (Rev.6:9-10,11; 19:14,8,11; 17:14; Rom.13:12;  2Cor.6:7; 10:3-4,5; Eph.5:11; 6:11;  1Cor.15:57-58; Rom.16:20).

Christ and these angel messengers of his, battle against Satanic deception in the ongoing war that will finally end in the Victory of Truth, and the subjection of Christ's enemies, Untruth, it's father, and all it's agents (Gen.3:15).

While Christ's kingdom has a start and finish...
not so, God's Kingdom ( 1Tim.1:17; 6:15,16; Ps.10:16; 90:2; 145:13; Jer.10:10).
God will rule through Christ and the completed, tested, refined, and ransomed 144,000 (Dan.7:18,22,27; Heb.1:2 ...after Creation has been cleaned by the kingdom of Christ and his brothers under test (Hab.1:13,12; Phil.2:15). Christ is at God's right hand, being used by his Father to restore His creation back to it's original condition, to cleanse and prepare a people/priesthood/kings, to eternally slave for God under His kingdom to come, and establish the condemnation and judicial judgment of the lying wicked.

 The "Thousand Years" contains a concurrent day and night. The night is Satan's time to rule the world (1John 5:19; Rom.13:12) while he holds the hearts and minds of mankind in spiritual darkness. Those chosen are called out of that darkness 
(1Pet.2:9;  2Cor.4:6;  2Pet.1:19).
The sons of "light" and "day", must stand watch during the night which surrounds them (Hab.2:1; Eze.33:7; Isa.62:6; 21:6,8-9,10,12; Jer.26:2; Mark 13:35,36,37; Luke 12:35; John 5:35), shining their lamplight sourced in the "sun" contained within their hearts (2Cor.4:6;  2Pet.1:19). They war against the darkness, along with Christ, as he gradually gains dominion over enemies of light, through them (Eph.6:12; John 1:5; Ps.110:1-2,3;  1Cor.15:24-25; Rev.12:10,11; 19:11,14). The remnant of faithful chosen must do that work, until Christ returns (John 14:18,3,28; Acts 3:20,21; 5:20; Heb.1:6; Mal.3:1,3; Matt.24:13; Rom.2:7;  1Cor.1:8; Heb.10:39; Rev.2:10,25; 3:11; 12:17), bringing with him the eternal end of night, and the return of day, eternally (Rev.22:5,6,7).
