Great Tribulation -Two phases

A QUESTION I RECEIVED:

Something strange. I've learned that anointed Christians will be sealed on the forehead before the great tribulation. read Revelation 7:3. But one seal on the forehead means approved.

Jesus said the faithful discreet slave should be put on all that he owns, or be thrown out when he comes after the great tribulation. Matthew 24:45-51
Does that mean that the faithful discreet slave is not sealed before the great tribulation, but all other faithful anointed is sealed before the great tribulation. What do you think?
------------------------------

MY REPLY:

What you are actually noticing, is that the Great Tribulation breaks out upon the Chosen Ones, first.

These are the first, to recognize the test before them, and the spiritual war-like condition...
       [not peace and security -(Matt.24:4,5,24,25; Micah 3:5; Jer.6:14,15; 3:3; Eze.13:10,16;  1Thess. 5:3) [Isa.5:5 (Ex.19:12; 20:18) Dan.11:16,45; Rev.11:2) peace-and-security]
...which tribulation, is their true spiritual reality
http://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-greatest-tribulation-why.html
They are first to recognize the idolatrous condition of God's people, their Temple priesthood being trampled down under spiritual Gentiles.... (https://pearl-disgustingthing.blogspot.com) (http://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2013/09/trample-how-does-it-happen.html) (http://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2018/02/who-is-false-prophet-who-gives-breath.html),
....and the initial ones to endure the test of loyalty to God and Truth, which the new perception of their actual spiritual circumstances, (Matt.24:15), invokes their response (Rev.13:8;  2Thess.2:4,3,12)
(Isa.48:10; Zech.13:9; Rev.8:7-12; 12:4; 9:15,18,20;  1Cor.3:13; Rev.6:17; Mal.3:2-3; Luke 18:26-27)
and choice,
to either loyally repent, or to continue inside the climate of  idolatry toward the image of a so-called, spirit-inspired alliance (Rev.13:15; 19:20).

It is through that test, (and how each Chosen One responds to it), that the unsealed chosen ones are either sealed as slaves of God, Christ, and their mother covenant, New Jerusalem (Rev.14:1; 22:4; 3:12; Gal.4:26,24) (pearl-thewoman.blogspot.com).
[and are given their white robe (Rev.3:5; 6:11; 7:9,13,14; 22:14; 19:8,14; 15:6)].
...Or, they are branded as slaves of other Masters.
You may wish at this point, to see what it means to be sealed on the forehead (Deut.11:18; Rev.13:16).
Jesus illustrated the choice between two Masters (Joel 3:14),
in the parable of the 10 virgins. Five chose to source their lamplight in the receptacle they had from the beginning (Gal.3:3; Rev.3:3)...
and five chose to "buy from those who sell" (Matt.25:10; Rev.13:17;  2Cor.2:17; Isa.55:1-2).
"Buying", requires you to give something up.
If you engage in spiritual commerce not sourced with Christ (Rev.3:18), your forehead is not marked as a loyal slave of God, but a slave to the one whose doctrines guide and direct you (Gal.1:10; Rom.6:16).
(pearl-obeymen.blogspot.com)

Those other Masters chosen by the foolish virgins, include the "mother" Covenant of Death (Rev.17:5; Eze.16:2,44,45; Isa.28:15),
(Gal.4:26,24)
her harlot daughters (Eze.16:44; Rev.17:5; Isa.1:21),
and the Gentile Wild Beast with which, the harlot forms a ruling alliance (Rev.13:16,17,18; 16:13)
The first century Jews in covenant with God, were given the opportunity first, to be of the anointed body of Christ (John 1:11,12,13; Rom.11:28; Acts 13:46). At the end of the Covenant with physical Israel, the unfaithful physical Jews had formed an alliance with physical Gentiles (John 18:35; 19:11,15). They paid for their unfaithfulness, by having their ally turn on them.
But at the end of the New Covenant, it pertains to spiritual Gentiles forming an adulterous alliance with spiritual Jews, causing the Great Tribulation to the faithful.
https://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2013/09/trample-how-does-it-happen.html
That harlot will also be turned on, by her paramours (Rev.17:16).
       [Spiritual Jews are the anointed
       (Zech.8:23; John 4:22; Rom.2:28,29; Isa.42:6)
       (Gen.22:18; Gal.3:29; Rev.22:2; Matt.7:20).

Only after all of these Called Ones are sealed by their master of choice, does the Great Tribulation (caused by the adulterous  alliance with the Gentile Beast) break out on the "trees, earth, and earth/land" (Rev.9:4; 7:3; 12:9,12; 20:8) (Isa.56:8; John 10:16).

So when you say, "I've learned that anointed Christians will be sealed on the forehead before the great tribulation"....
this is both true and false.
It is false, in that they are sealed while they themselves are being "tribulated"/sifted/trampled by Gentiles.
It is true, in that these are sealed before the sifting tribulation breaks out upon the "rest" (earth/land/sea/trees/plant/green things).

It should also be recognized, that this "breaking out" of "harm", is, the Great Tribulation
The "144000" are sealed before the outbreak of the Great Tribulation".
Those "unsealed" who DO go through the Great Tribulation ("great crowd"), are sealed after/during, the "breaking out" of that "harm" (abomination causing desolation/Great Tribulation).
Yet that harm does not only break out on the unsealed.
It also breaks out on the "rest"/"earth/land/sea/trees/plant/green things" after the harvest of the anointed wheat is done. The "rest" face the secondary part of that great sifting to choose a master.
(Rev.14:15,16,17,18)
During that time, these secondary elements will also be branded by their masters....sealed as to whose laws they obey (Rom.6:16) and submit their faith/thinking, and actions/power, to (Rev.13:16,7; Gal.1:10;  1Cor.7:23). The great sifting/separating/tribulation, brings the two harvests to a finish.
The first harvest is of the Called and anointed "wheat"/"earth"(--God's "inhabited homeland" John 14:23) (Rev.14:14-16). That is done by Christ, who brings his "wheat" into his storehouse (Matt.13:38; 3:12). He will base that judgment according to what these "branches" have produced as "fruit"/teachings... whether fine, or rotten. The kind of fruit each produces, will depend upon which root they were grafted into (John 15:5,6; Jer.2:21; Deut.32:32,33; Rev.14:18,19).

The second harvest, is of the actual fruit of each vine (teachings and those who took them in) that was produced by these Chosen branches/prophets. If they have taken in fine fruit sourced in Christ through his faithful branches, then they have taken into their hearts, sayings of life. They will be saved from death and harvested as such.
If they have fed from Satan's vine and his branches of "fallen stars" (Ps.140:3; Rev.13:11; Deut.32:33; Rev.16:13-16;  1Tim.4:1)(Jer.23:14,15; Rev.8:10,11; 9:1), partaking of that rotten fruit/wormwood... they will suffer the consequences due to those who love lies (2Thess. 2:9-12).
http://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/search?q=fallen+star+wormwood
If you think about these two separate phases (Rev.7:3)
(breaking out on the unsealed, and then later, on the "rest"),
you will see why this is just and reasonable.
The tribulation segregates those willing to die for truth (Mark 8:35; 13:13; John 16:2), from those who love the lie, become idolaters (Rev.13:8), and prefer Satanic deception (2Thess.2:9-12).
How can the other elements make a choice for truth, if it is not available?
The faithful anointed must be first to awaken and choose to live (and die) for truth,
proven by the testimony they give in the face of death (Rev.12:11,7; 20:4; 6:9;  2Cor.10:3,4,5; Eph.6:12; Rev.11:3; Dan.12:3-4; Rev.20:12).
(pearl-newscrolls.blogspot.com)
That testimony of Truth must first be present and available, by which the "rest" will thereafter, be sealed as either accepting, or rejecting.
(John 13:20; Matt.10:40,41; 25:40,46)
Do you see that those Chosen must decide their side of this battle first?
They do this by their acceptance or rejection of Satan's end-time deception
...The "operation of error", "the lie"...which asserts that the Gentiles should be ruling over God's anointed Temple and trampling them underfoot,
thereby preventing the "remaining ones" of the woman's seed, from becoming sealed as slaves of God and Christ (Rev.3:2; Dan.8:11-12,13,24; Rev.13:7; Dan.11:31). This counterfeit kingdom of the False Prophet and Gentile Idol...
(and their lies -Rev.16:13; 13:11,14;  2Thess.2:4,9,11;  2Tim.3:13)
...acts as a restraint against the arrival of the genuine Kingdom of God, and restrains the necessary sealing of God's chosen rulers as slaves of God and His truth (Deut.11:18; Heb.10:16).
Those who choose faithfulness, must not remain slaves to spiritual Gentiles who teach doctrine from the wicked steward (or Idolize their false "Image", as being directed by God's spirit -Rev.13:15-16; Isa.44:20) (http://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2013/05/mark-of-beast.html) (http://pearl-666.blogspot.com/).
(pearl-restraint.blogspot.com) (What is "Jew" and "Gentile"?)
(Rev.16:13,14,15,16,17;  1Tim.4:1;  2Thess.2:9,11,12; Mark 13:14; Rev.9:7,3; 3:9; 13:4,5,7,8,14,18;  2Thess.2:4; Rev.11:2; Matt.5:13;  2Cor.11:3)
(pearl-disgustingthing.blogspot.com)
(search-results=operation+of+error)

Once the Chosen take their own stand, the sealing of the Chosen Kings (and the harvest of the wheat), is done. The faithful remnant  "come to life" at this time (Rev.20:4,5,6,7,8; John 5:24; 6:47,58; 11:26).
Then the Battle ensues between these messengers of death / lies, and the (messengers of life) /(truth). Both sides present their testimony. Due to exposure to both the truth and the lie; the next phase of the tribulation/sifting/sorting/choosing, occurs for the "rest". In this "valley of decision", it will be determined, who receives life or destruction (Rev.20:5; 8:13; 11:14; 12:12; 11:5; 9:12,18,20,21).

                 [NOTE: While being "killed" is naturally viewed as a bad punishment to us;
this is actually the symbolic means of salvation within Revelation
                               (Mark 8:35; Rev.9:18; 11:7; 6:9,11; 12:11; Zech.13:9,8)
It happens to those who do not succumb to the overwhelming climate of idolatry (Rev.13:15,8; 20:4; 11:7)]

When Christ's sealed slaves are working faithfully, (shining their lamps of truth fueled by Holy Spirit);
they are appointed over the care of all Christ's "sheep" during the tribulation.
They are assigned a greater work, with greater supplies (the marriage feast), and with a greater responsibility. Unfortunately, the majority of God's people, reject these final prophets.
(Rev.11:3,7,8,10; John 16:2; Matt.5:11-12; Mark 13:13)

All are sealed during their own battle of the Great Tribulation, which will test every heart dedicated to God, as to it's love of truth or lies (Luke 21:35; Rev.2:4; Jer.5:31; Eze.13:19,22; Isa.28:15;  2Thess.2:9,10,11,12,13,15; Rev.13:3) (Eze.13:4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12)
...first to the as yet unsealed Chosen Ones,
and then on to the "rest" (symbolized by earth/land/trees/green things/sea, previous to gaining life) (Rev.7:3; 9:4; 20:5)
http://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2016/01/is-leaving-city-enough.html
Try to remember that the spiritual, symbolic timing within Revelation, is not according to the literal timing that we as physical beings are familiar with.

I hope this reply addresses your thoughts.
Thank you for your contribution.

144000 and Great Crowd, Compared

This post is an addition made to ("Who are the 144000?").

The Great Crowd can be included in God's priestly group who stand for truth (symbolic meaning of 144000) when that number is regarded as not so much literal and numerical, but as those who testify to truth. There can be a group of Testifiers to Truth ("144000"), later joined by more who Testify to Truth. Although the group increases, the label of that number's meaning, remains the same.

Yet a distinction is made in Rev.7, between the 144000, and those who appear "afterward" (Rev.7:9).
We are told in Rev. ch.20, that the 144000 reign with Christ during the Thousand years (Rev.20:4-6). It is after the "Thousand Years", that Satan is released, and the Great Tribulation ensues (Rev.20:2-3,7) (Satan's "short time" of release Rev.20:3; 12:12,17).

During the "Thousand Years", Satan is restrained. Those who rule with Christ during that time, are not overcome by Satan's Beasts and their slave mark (Rev.20:4). After Satan's release, he empowers the false prophet and it's Beast, with powerful deception (Rev.16:13-16; 13:4,11; 20:7-8; 17:14; 20:9; 11:3,5; Jer.5:14; 23:29; Matt.10:20) (2Thess.2:9,11,8; Rev.2:16).
Initially, the Great Crowd are overcome (Rev.13:7; Dan.11:31-33; Rev.13:10 <Col.2:8; Luke 21:24; Rev.11:2; Matt.5:13) (LINK). Of these, a remnant of those who face the Great Tribulation, will be saved (Matt.24:24-25,21-22; Dan.12:1; Jer.23:3; Mark 13:26-27). These survivors, are the Great Crowd.

Therefore, the experience of the Great Crowd, differs from the previous faithful priests.
The previous 144000 had never accepted the slave mark of the Beasts (Rev.20:4) who are unleashed during the Great Tribulation (Rev.13:1,11). The remnant (remaining ones of the seed -Rev.12:17,15) are overcome (Rev.13:7), and must be rescued (Jer.31:11; Isa.48:20; 51:11). These are required to repent of their soiled identity, and be given white robes (Zech.3:3-4,8; Rev.3:18; Isa.1:18; Eze.18:27; Rev.19:8; 7:9,14). Not all, repent (Rev.2:21-22; 9:20-21; 16:9-11) (1Kings 8:46-50; Mal.3:6).

The previous group of 144000 were in the Lamb's book of life during Christ's "Thousand Year" reign ("first resurrection"). The "second death"--
(being overcome by death again, after having received redemption from Adamic sin and "first" death
    -Rom.5:12; John 6:63; 5:24;  1Cor.15:45;  1Pet.1:23)
--"has no hold" on those previous "144000" (Rev.20:6; Luke 10:19).
Yet for a time, the "sting" of the agents of death (1Cor.15:55,26;  Rev.20:5,14), gains a hold on the remnant (Rev.9:10) during Satan's release and Great Tribulation. (LINK)

When the Chosen who are living after the Thousand Years, are overcome by the released Satan and the resources of his abyss; they are overcome once again by death. having lost their slave mark of God (Deut.11:18), (being slave-marked by the laws of the Beast -Rev.13:16)
(Rev.13:7; 9:4-6,10; 7:3) (LINK) (666)
Yet there will be those who repent, are saved, and are added to those who receive life (Rev.3:3,19; 20:6,5) "after the thousand years have ended".
This is why the "144000" and the "Great Crowd" are depicted by scripture, as two different groups.
Yet in the end, the survivors of the Great Tribulation, battle for Truth (Rev.12:10-11; Luke 12:8; Rev.6:9-11; Mark 8:35; Rev.11:8), alongside Christ at Armageddon (Rev.17:14; 19:14,8), and are united with the previous "144000", in the Lamb's scroll of life (Zech.3:7-8,9-10; Rev.3:5).

Great Tribulation

[I suggest first reading about the basic cause, and agents, of the Great Tribulation, at this link:

A COMMENT WHICH WAS LEFT AT
https://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-sign-of-son-of-man.html:

This may be a possibility. A great tribulation will come upon the people of the earth, a great tribulation, such as has never been. Then the sign of the Son of man in heaven: all people on earth will see this sign. The last trumpet will blow, and all that is anointed in the tombs will stand up, and all anointed living will soon afterwards be transformed along with them, turned into spirits. The angels will take them and bring them to Jesus, they will meet Jesus in the air. Afterwards they will with Jesus shatter this world.”

MY REPLY:

I get the impression that you believe that the great tribulation is something the entire world will go through. You make many assumptions without scriptural backing. You may have taken with you, an old wine skin (Luke 5:37,38,39) and your outer garment (Matt.24:17,18). That is a former identity, while marked by the lies of the “Beast”
(LINK)
(Rev.13:16,17,18  --- pearl-666.blogspot.com).

When the Bible tells us that this great tribulation is to come upon the entire inhabited “earth” (God's "footstool"/"dwelling place"/"Temple")
(Luke 21:35; Matt.5:34,35; Ps.132:7-9; Eph.2:22,19;  1Cor. 3:16; John 18:36; Jer.25:29;  1Chron. 21:16), this is not speaking of Satan’s world. That world and it’s prince have already been judged (John 12:31).
Luke 21:36 and Matt.24:42 address this tribulation to Christ’s slaves. If you accept the context there; this tribulation decides who is “taken” to Christ, and who is “abandoned”. Jesus does not say that they are “taken” to a literal location of heaven, while those abandoned are destroyed. At Luke 17:37 (Rev.12:14; Job 39:27,28,29,30; Luke 17:37) it is clearly conveyed that those taken, search for and receive spiritual food.
("Eagles or Vultures"?)
Those abandoned are left behind and shut out. This is also illustrated in the 10 virgin parable (Matt.25:10-11,12)

You forget that those under Satan’s power are already dead (John 3:18; Rom.5:12). Spiritually speaking, they have never even received “life” (1John 2:17; John 3:6). Even the anointed are straining and hoping to gain life (Rev.3:11; James 1:12;  1Pet. 4:18). These are the ones being tested by this great tribulation (Luke 21:36; Rev.2:10; 3:1; 7:14). There is no testing for those already dead (Eph.2:1,2; Col.2:13;  1Pet. 4:3;  1Tim. 5:6). Those whom Satan demands to test, are the heirs (Luke 22:31; Rev.12:17;  1Pet. 5:8; Eph.6:12). These are the only ones who pose a threat to Satan’s continuing reign (Rom.16:20; Rev.12:10-11).

The “sign of the son of man” appears in “heaven” (Matt.24:30). This “heaven” is compared to “clouds”
(Luke 21:27; Mark 13:26; Heb.12:1; Jude 1:14;  2Thess. 1:7,10).
How will this "cloud" emit "power and great glory"? That glory is defined at John 1:14, as "grace" and "truth". That same truth is what empowers that cloud of witnesses to conquer Satan (Luke 10:19,18;  1John 2:14).
Who sees this sign of the Son of Man?
When this sign was projected for all God’s people to see in the first Century
(Matt.16:4; 12:40; 26:64; Mark 16:19; Luke 22:69);
did they all recognize its meaning? (see Matt.16:1-2,3)
Physically seeing and spiritually perceiving are two different things (Mark 4:12; Matt.13:13). Even in the first Century when Christ fulfilled this very same sign, few were capable of perceiving it’s meaning, though all of God’s people “saw” it (Zech.12:10; Luke 16:31). Jesus said that "at an hour that you do not think it to be", the son of man is coming (to inspect his household).
If the anointed slaves must stay awake, and will have difficulty identifying this period; how will the "blind" lacking faith discern the hour?
(Isa.42:18,19; 43:8; Luke 12:40; Rom.11:20;  1Cor. 10:12;  2Pet. 3:17; Col.2:8)
--Much less those of Satan's world (1Pet. 4:18).

Remember, that this is a "sign"... not an obvious world-wide event (Luke 17:20-21;  2Cor. 5:20). When the "two witnesses" fulfill this sign in the time of the end, it does not say that the whole world will know it. It says that fear gripped "those who saw them" (Rev.11:11). This is just the same as how it happened with Christ. *(see scriptures below) When we are told that "all the tribes will beat themselves in lamentation" (Matt.24:30); who are these? (see Rev.5:9; 7:9). The final two prophets don sackcloth in mourning and repentance (Rev.11:3). They are faint out of fear over what is to come upon God's wayward people
(Luke 21:26; Isa.28:14,22,19; Luke 19:41-42,43-44; Lam.2:15).

When this sign of the son of man comes upon the “earth” (LINK) in the time of the end….not all in the world will perceive it (John 14:22; Acts 10:40-41). As was the case in the first century, the Christ’s actual death was in view of God’s Nation alone (Not all over the globe). Only those who witnessed Christ’s death and realized what it meant, beat themselves in lamentation *
(John 16:20; 19:25,26; Luke 23:27,46,47,48,49; Mark 16:10).

All the world does not take note when one of Christ’s brothers is “killed” and thrown out of the Congregation
(Isa.66:5; John 16:2; Rev.11:2; Dan.7:25; 12:7; Matt.24:15; Isa.52:1).
But all those around them, do see it. In fact, it is announced publicly
(Rev.11:7,8,9,10; Rom.9:26-27; Isa.66:5-6;  1Cor.4:9).
Do they realize what this means?
They don’t have a clue that following this course of Christ is a requirement for being sealed...
(Rev.6:9-10,11; Heb.13:13; Matt.25:6; Mark 8:35; 13:13-14),
...nor that these who are persecuted for righteousness sake, are “the least” of Christ’s brothers (Matt.5:11-12; Rev.14:13).

You say that the angels will take the anointed to Jesus.
This is not what the Bible says. The anointed who have received life, are the angels. Jesus himself collects them to himself, through the angelic reapers, the prophets
(Matt.13:39; John 4:36;  2Cor. 9:6; Matt.9:37-38; Rev.14:15-16,17-18,19; 14:6).>
< Can you see that these “angels” (Greek for “messenger”), are human anointed slaves of Christ?

This gathering (reaping) to Christ, is spiritual, not physical. That gathering place has been prepared for them by Christ
(Matt.11:28; John 7:37; 14:2,3; 12:26; 14:4,18,28; Rev.12:6; John 14:23; Rev.3:20; Matt.24:28; Heb.13:13).

You conclude by saying that “Afterwards they will with Jesus, shatter this world.

Are you saying that Jesus and his Bride are destroyers? You are mistaken (John 10:10; Rev.9:11; Isa.33:1; Heb.2:14). Satan is the manslayer and destroyer (John 8:44). He is the only one to do such things.

Judgment is passed through how one responds to Christ through his ambassadors
(John 13:20; Matt.10:40,41; 25:45,46; John 12:48).
Being born of Adam, rather than being born again of Christ, is already a death sentence
(Rom.5:12;  1Cor.15:21-22,45;  1Pet.1:23; John 1:14; 3:18).
But this says nothing about the actual execution. “Fire” is not physical and literal, previous to actual death. (see: LINK)

What matters is whether or not we have divine protection from the wicked one, the murderer and liar (John 8:44).
(Matt.6:13;  1Pet. 1:5;  1Sam. 2:9; John 10:28; Eph.2:8; Prov.30:5).
God abandons us to be destroyed by Satan; And rightly so, if Satan is the god we have chosen, imitated, and served the desires of (Gen.3:13,19;  2Thess. 2:9,10; Eph.2:2) (LINK).
The war Jesus and his anointed messengers (angels) wage, is not physical (2Cor. 10:3-4,5). Jesus wars with the long sword “from his mouth” (Rev.2:16; Matt.10:34; Luke 12:51; Eph.6:17; Heb.4:12). The anointed conquer Satan and his world by the same means (Rev.12:10-11).
The harvest is gathering in, those who will survive Satan’s murderous destruction of God’s Creation. When this harvest is completed, Satan will be free to destroy his own seed; because that is the sort of father he is.

Do you not know the spirit of our Father in heaven, who is love (1John 4:8; John 3:16)? When the wicked die by God’s decree; it is because these deserve to have God’s protection removed from them (Gen.3:24). But the manslayer, is Satan. His heavens and earth are already stored up for judgment (2Pet. 3:7,9,10,11;  1Pet. 4:7). We await a new heavens and earth filled with righteousness…..the “New Creation”
(2Pet. 3:13;  2Cor. 5:17; Isa.43:19; Gal.6:15; Eph.4:24; Rev.21:4,5). This will replace the old creation, which Satan corrupted, and which he himself will destroy. Christ and his "Bride" bring healing (not destruction) to the Nations (Rev.22:2,17).
I hope you are not teaching others these demonic and God dishonoring errors. For such works, there will be an accounting
(Matt.12:36;  2Cor. 5:10; Matt.16:27; 25:40; James 3:1).

"Unless those Days were Shortened"

What can the Bible teach us about the Great Tribulation?

Of it, Jesus said; "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened." (Matt.24:22)
    [To see that the locusts of Joel 1:4,6; 2:2,25,32; Rev.9:2-3 are responsible for the Great Tribulation;
     please see:
[time shortened: (Rev.12:12; Rev.20:3 NIV )
Why necessary?
Amos 7:2; Isa.1:9; Rom.9:27-29; Micah 4:7-8,9-10]

(See the connection between Matt.24:22 and its context in Matt.24:8 of the same chapter and conversation, and the connection between tribulation and labor pains)...

John16: 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer,
I have overcome the world. 20 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.... (Ps.126:5-6; Luke 8:11,15;  3John 1:4;  1Thess. 2:19-20) ...21 A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world."

Rev.12: "Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. 2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. 5 She bore a male Child who was to *rule all nations with a rod of iron.* And her Child was caught up to God and His throne."
Rev.2: "26 And he who overcomes, (1John 5:4) and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— 27 ‘He shall *rule them with a rod of iron;*
They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’—
as I also have received from My Father"

Rev.3: 21 "To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne."

Eph.2: "6 He has raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus"

This great "tribulation" comes from a word that means to sift wheat. Satan has demanded to test all those slated for eternal life (Luke 22:31 ESV ). That tribulation is a test that Christ encourages all of us to overcome. In the time of the End (Matt.24:3;  1Cor. 15:24), the demonic, oppressive testing, takes on an intensity and effectiveness, never before experienced (Matt.24:21-22). Unless God limits that test, "no one could be saved".
"No flesh being saved" is not speaking of the physical. The flesh is against the spirit, and represents our practice of sin (Gal.5:17). Those who live by the flesh, are not saved (Rom.8:13; Gal.6:8). Being saved in the flesh is of no value, according to Jesus (John 6:63; Matt.10:28). It is the spirit that needs to be saved (1Cor. 5:5; Matt.24:22).
Only by the intervention of God, is salvation made possible (1Cor. 6:9-11; Rom.7:24-25; 8:2).
The disciples asked Jesus; "Who really can be saved?" (Matt.19:25-26). They asked this about a rich man, who left off following Jesus... not about a physical threat. Jesus replied by saying that "with men, salvation is not possible, but with God, all things, (including salvation), become possible."

During the Great Test/tribulation; the saints are conquered and taken captive to demonic teaching
(Dan.8:24; Rev.13:7,10; Col.2:8; Luke 21:24)(1Tim. 4:1; Rev.16:13-15; Dan.8:11-13; Rev.11:2; Luke 21:24; Rev.20:7-9; Luke 21:20).
If God did not limit that test, none would achieve salvation. But God does limit Satan's final test.
If it were not for God "cutting short" those days of deception...
(Matt.24:22;  2Thess. 2:4,9; Dan.11:36-37; 8:11-12; Rev.12:9; 13:11,14; 14:8),
...no flesh would be saved
(Luke 13:23-24;  1Pet. 4:18; Rom.9:29; Isa.1:9; 10:21-22; 30:28; Rev.14:20 NIV )
(Eze.17:22; 36:8; Mark 13:14; Psalm 72:16; Luke 12:42-43) (LINK).
To allow His deceived people more of a choice, God does cut this sifting tribulation by Satan short, limiting it's lethal effects for some.
(Luke 22:31; Amos 4:11; Isa.48:9; Mark 13:20).

YHVH God restricts the damage, just as a log is snatched out of a fire, for the sake of His Holy Name (Eze.36:22; Dan.12:1; Zech.3:2-3,4; (Rev.19:8) Zech.2:12; Jude 1:23; Rev.9:14).

What is it that saves the remnant from being drowned by this flood of Satanic lies? (Rev.12:15)

How are His people given one more chance at life?

Along with this plague of horsemen (including a spiritual famine - Rev.6:8; Amos 8:11; Hosea 4:6);
He limits their ability to harm/destroy totally, the "olive oil and the wine". (Isa.65:8-9; John 15:5)
Rev.3:20
A remnant will be awoken spiritually (Matt.25:6-7; Luke 12:37; Rev.9:14; 11:3-4). These will have the resolve to base their teachings upon Holy Spirit, despite Satan's persecution and the wrath of the Wild Beast (John 15:4-5; 16:2;  1John 2:28; Rev.13:15; Mark 8:35; Rev.11:7; 20:4)
The fruit the faithful bear, will remain (John 15:16;  1Cor. 3:13,14).
The "blessing within it" (Isa.65:8), will become manifested (Matt.13:43; Dan.12:3; 11:33,35; 12:10; Prov.4:18; 11:30).

The Greatest Tribulation -- What and Why?

[NOTE: If you wish to listen to the meetings which review this post, there are approximately 9 of them, starting with this meeting link of 22/09/2000: (https://soundcloud.com/user-192860936/25-sep-2022-17-21-47-edt-1lghaesnxnec-2). Please be patient with the introduction, because the meetings are sometimes open to initial questions that are discussed before this post's material.

*  *  *  *  *  *  *

At Matt. 24:21; Jesus said concerning a development at the time of his return,
"For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will again."

Here Jesus confides that the type of distress which occurs at that time, will have never been preceded, nor will it be repeated.
Many have contemplated and expounded on what manner and form in which this "great tribulation" will manifest itself. Such opinions point to it's source as being economic, warfare, famine, natural disasters, spiritual persecution and disintegration of morality.
While Jesus does list these conditions as concurrent symptomology of the great tribulation, these conditions are symbolic (Signs), and only secondary manifestations of the Great Tribulation. They are not the root cause.
Why do I say this?
First, many object to these "signs" as being unique to the "last days" (Matt. 24:3;  2Tim. 3:1). When interpreted in a physical and literal sense, that is correct. Mankind's woes have existed since Adam and Eve were expelled from Eden
(Gen. 3:17-18; Heb. 6:8-9; Rom. 8:18-22; Job 14:1-2).
Some assert that what makes these literal "signs" unique to the last days, is the unprecedented degree in which they occur. Although these woes have intensified in modern times, one must remember, that Satan controls the world and all that takes place within it (1John 5:19; Rev. 12:9,12). He can certainly increase such woes upon the planet (Rev. 12:12 B), in order to fulfill a literal and false interpretation of the signs Jesus listed (Matt. 13:10,11; Mark 4:34; Matt. 24:3)
(pearl-sign.blogspot.com).

The only way to achieve an authentic interpretation of Christ's description of the time of the end
(and the manifestation/appearance, of his "presence"/coming - 2Thess. 2:8),
is if the scriptures themselves are used as the means to arrive at one's interpretation.
The scriptures provide much information about this time period. All that information is a part of the whole picture, and as pieces of a puzzle, those pieces of information should not be compartmentalized, but must be assembled into a whole before an accurate image is perceptible. Then we will know where each piece fits, and how each piece relates to the other pieces.

In fact, every description of the last days is speaking of the same scenario. Once we grasp that, scriptural details converge, and the whole harmonious truth, emerges.

A literal puzzle piece usually has four sides. One must seek out where one side fits with one side of another piece. As more pieces are similarly matched up, other nearby pieces also fit additional sides, until there are no more gaps and the last pieces and all their sides, fit perfectly. Things are the most confusing, right at the start. Yet, we must start someplace. I will start at Matt. 24:21.

If we examine that verse as if it were a puzzle piece, we see that on one of it's "sides", it asserts that the great tribulation is a singular, unique situation. Now we need to search the scriptures for a matching side. Where else in the Bible, is this unique, singular situation mentioned?
In the book of Joel, (which also describes the time of the end), we find our match. As we assemble this puzzle, each found piece adds more information to the whole picture.

"A day of darkness and gloom,
A day of clouds and thick darkness.
As the nightfall is spread over the mountains,
So there is a great and mighty army;
There has never been anything like it,
Nor will there be again after it
To the years of many generations." Joel 2:2 (NIV)
Joel 2:2 Jer. 13:16 ("Dusk", not "Dawn">LINK)
Joel 2:2 (ESV) Joel 2:5 (ESV) Joel 2:7 (ESV)
(See Dan. 12:1) When we connect these two verses, we learn that the great tribulation/testing/sifting, is the result of "a great and mighty army" (Jer. 4:5-7,9-13,16-21,27-28; Rev. 13:4,7; Dan. 7:19,23 c). It is the threat and power of this abominable army, and the desolation it causes to God's people (upon God's people (< LINK) - 1Pet. 2:10,9), that is unprecedented (Matt. 24:15; Dan. 7:7,19,23,24; 2:40). The spiritual darkness/thick gloom (John 12:35;  1John 1:6) that this army spreads (Rev. 9:2,3; Joel 2:2 (NIV) ; Jer. 13:16), is so insurmountable and overwhelming, that the salvation of God's Chosen Ones, is then threatened (tails-stingers-scorpions
(Rev. 13:7; Dan. 8:10-11; Rev. 11:2; 13:10; Luke 21:24; Isa. 63:18; Matt. 5:13).

As Jesus continues in Matt. 24:22,24...

"Unless those days had been cut short (Job 18:7; Ps. 89:45; 102:23; Rev. 12:12; 20:3), no life would have been saved* (Matt. 19:25-26; Luke 13:23-24; 18:26-27; Matt. 7:14-15); but for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short (2Thess. 2:8; Rev. 20:9; 11:5; 12:10,11) (Matt. 24:22; Rev. 3:10; Luke 22:53)
For false Christs and false prophets will arise (Matt. 7:15; 24:4-5,11,24-25; Rev. 19:20; 2:20; 13:11,15,7; Dan. 8:11-12;  2Thess. 2:4,9-12) and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, *if possible, even the elect.".
(2Cor. 11:3-4,20; Rev. 2:20; Col. 2:8; Rev. 13:10; 14:12)
(Matt. 19:25-26 * --men are mislead by Satan, without the protection of God.)

When a puzzle piece is correctly placed, all sides match up. We detect such compatibility, if we look at another "side" of Joel 2:2 (NIV) ....

"A day of darkness and gloom,
A day of clouds and thick darkness.
As the nightfall is spread over the mountains,
So there is a great and mighty army;
There has never been anything like it,
Nor will there be again after it
To the years of many generations."

This matches up with another side of Matt. 24:29...
“But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken."
(also Joel 2:10) (Isa. 59:9-10)
The darkness of this army, is able to snuff out, even the symbolic heavenly luminaries
(Rev. 22:16; Dan. 12:3; Phil. 2:15; Dan. 8:11,25; Ps. 107:10).

We have matched up two pieces, but we can branch out to add more to Joel's army. What army exists in the time of the end, that is so fearsome and powerful, that they and their darkness "spreads over the mountains" (Jer. 13:16-17) like a swarm of locusts (Amos 5:18; Zeph. 1:15), leaving nothing living behind them but a swath of death?
(Joel 2:3-5,9-10,17,31-32; 1:4,6,12,19)(Joel 2:3;  1Cor. 15:26; Rev. 6:8)
[ Rev.9:3,5;  1Cor. 15:55 (NKJV )]
    [meaning of mountains/hills:
(Rev. 17:9 (NKJV) Rev. 17:9-10; Matt. 5:14-15; Rev. 8:8-12)]
We also find matching informational pieces about the time of the end, in the book of Revelation. This is where we can find more information about this unprecedented army, which overtakes the remnant of God's people in the time of the end
(Rev. 13:7; Dan. 8:17,11,13; Rev. 11:2; Dan. 11:35,31-33; Rev. 13:10; Luke 21:24; Col. 2:8; Matt. 24:15-16).

One "side" of Joel's puzzle piece tells us, that the soldiers in this army, have teeth like lions (Joel 1:6; Rev. 13:2; 9:8; Ps. 57:4,3; Dan. 8:10; Luke 21:24; Rev. 11:2; Dan. 7:7; Rev. 13:1), swarm like locusts (Joel 1:4), cause the sky and mountains to darken (Joel 2:2 (ESV) Joel 2:10), look like war horses (Joel 2:4), cause people anguish and torment (Joel 2:6) a devouring fire accompanies them (Joel 1:19-20; 2:3,5), and they attack God's own people (Joel 2:18,32; 1:6; Mal. 2:1-2).

Do we find matching pieces in Revelation's description of this unprecedented army, which will add to our completing the picture?

Joel 1:6 ----- Rev. 9:8
Joel 1:4 ----- Rev. 9:3 ("scorpions" -Eze. 2:6; Luke 10:19-20)
Joel 2:2 (ESV) Joel 2:10 ----- Rev. 9:2-3 (Isa. 48:10)
Joel 2:4 ----- Rev. 9:7,17,19
Joel 2:5 ----- Rev. 9:9
Joel 2:6 ----- Rev. 9:5-6
Joel 2:3 ----- Rev. 9:18,20 (Zech. 13:8-9; Isa. 48:10; Rev. 2:16; 13:10)
Joel 1:6* ----- Rev. 9:4; 7:3 (my land=unsealed=not yet sealed)
*("a nation has invaded  *my land" -Joel 1:6; Jer. 5:17,18,19)
  (1Cor. 3:9; John 15:1; 14:23
*("world-earth-home")

More sides are matching up, and the picture is growing.
Now we can see why such great tribulation comes upon God's people (who are not yet sealed). They face an alliance (iron+and+clay Dan. 2:40-43) that is stronger than any foe they have ever faced in all history
(Rev. 12:17; 13:1,4,11,14-15; 11:7; 6:9,11) (Rev. 16:13-16; 19:19-20).
Jesus said that if our time of unsealed captivity and trampling under them...
    (Col. 2:8;  2Cor. 11:20; Rev. 2:20; Micah 3:5; Rev. 13:10,7; 11:2; 9:4,10) (Obey men?
...were not cut short, none would be saved
(Matt. 24:22; 7:13-14; Luke 13:23-24; 18:26-27).
(Matt. 24:22; Rev. 3:10; Luke 22:53)
[As each one begs God for rescue, the power is removed/cut short for them as individuals. -- Think of the life of a hurricane. As long as that storm lasts, it lashes those under its influence, yet it does not hit all towns, houses, or people at the same time. Its power ends (is cut short) where its influence ends, even though the storm may still be raging for others.]
For the sake of the remnant (whose salvation must also be threatened), Christ will intervene
(Jer. 31:7; Luke 1:78; Rev. 22:16; 2:28; Mal. 4:2;  2Pet. 1:19; Isa. 60:1; Luke 1:78; Acts 3:20-21; Dan. 12:1; Rev. 12:7,11; 17:14).

Those set free (John 8:32,36; Isa. 61:1; 42:7; Luke 4:18; Joel 2:25-27)
can then join Christ / (Michael -Rev. 12:7), in the battle for truth and freedom
(Rev. 2:2;  2Cor. 10:4,5; Eph. 6:11-17; 2:6; Rev. 19:14; 17:14; 20:9; 11:5; Jer. 23:29; 25:29).

   +    +    +    +    +    +    +    +    +    +    +    +    +    +    +    +

If we were to pursue more scriptural "sides" to these pieces, we could match up every side with more detailed information, causing our perceptions and understanding of the last day scenario and it's time of tribulation, to expand.
We would learn that this flooding army is also the fourth beast described by the prophet Daniel (Dan. 7:7,19-27; 2:40-44; Dan. 8:17,19), by John (Rev. 11:2; 13:1,5-7; 17:12,14) and by most of the prophets (Hab. 1:7-11; Eze. 38:16; 35:5; Jer. 23:20; 12:10,11; Amos 8:10; 4:2; Micah 5:4; 4:1; Hosea 3:5; Mal. 3:1-3; Ps. 66:10-12; Isa. 2:2-4,11-12,18-19,22; 51:23; Zech. 13:8-9; 1Cor. 3:13) (Rev. 6:7-8; Eze. 5:17,8,11; 14:21-23,5).

(1Cor. 10:11,6;  2Pet. 1:19; Rom. 15:4;  1Tim. 4:1; Rev. 16:14-15,13,16; 17:14)

"For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will again." (Matt. 24:21)

So there is a great and mighty army;
There has never been anything like it,
Nor will there be again after it
To the years of many generations." (Joel 2:2 (NIV) -b)
(Joel 1:2)

The Great Tribulation is a spiritual assault by Satan upon the remnant
(Rev. 12:17; 20:7-10; 16:13-16;  1Tim. 4:1; Luke 21:20-22)

It has a deceptive, dominating, priestly - princely veneer...

[The authentic Temple of God's spirit, is His Chosen, anointed priesthood
(1Cor. 3:16;  2Cor. 6:16;  1Pet. 2:10,9,5; Eph. 2:20-22)]

God sends / allows this abomination, to assault and discipline His wayward people (Heb. 12:6) (Isa. 42:24; Dan. 9:12; Joel 2:25 C; Joel 2:11; Mal. 3:2; Zech. 13:8-9; Rev. 9:18,20-21; Mark 8:35; Eze. 6:9-10; 14:22-23; Joel 3:17) (Zech. 13:9; Rev. 8:7; 9:18,2; Isa. 48:10; Job 23:10), because in the time of the end,
God's people are tolerating, subjecting themselves to, and participating in idolizing, the collective "Image" of that very Army (Rev. 13:14-15,7-8; 2:20; Matt. 24:24-25; Luke 21:24; Rev. 14:12).
That is why they are being trampled by it (Ec. 10:7; Prov. 25:26;  2Cor. 11:4,20; Matt. 5:13; Luke 21:24,22; Rev. 11:2; 13:10,7 Isa. 51:23;  2Cor. 11:20,4,3,2; Mal. 3:2-3; Zech. 13:9; Rev. 2:5; 3:3; 13:5-7; 2:20;  1Cor. 10:18;  1Tim. 1:20;  1Cor. 5:5; 11:32; Heb. 12:5-11; Rev. 3:19; Eze. 14:4-5).

Light and Darkness

Question received:
John 9:4 has been on my mind lately.
Do you think Jesus was referring to more than himself as the "Light" going away and the darkness being more than the absence of His presence?
Spiritual darkness?

My Reply:
We read at John 8:12 that Jesus referred to himself as the light of the world.
At Matt.5:14 Jesus said of his followers, "You are the light of the world."
At John 20:21 Jesus said; "As the Father sent me, so I am sending you".
Verse 22 continues, "Then he breathed on them and said, 'Receive the holy spirit'." (John 20:22)

At John 3:34 Jesus said about himself
"For he whom God has sent, speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure."
There we see the connection between having God's spirit, and accurately teaching God's words.
At Matt.10:20, Jesus again said of his disciples;
"It will not be you speaking, but the spirit of your Father speaking through you."

So we see a commonality between the role of Christ and the role of his faithful body members.
Christ and the anointed are sent to bring spiritual light into the world (Mal.2:7; Rev.5:10).
Both Jesus and his Body members are enabled and prompted by the spirit of God, to teach God's words of divine truth.

Now note what is said about the Day of the Lord...
"Why do you long for the day of the LORD? That day will be darkness, not light" (Amos 5:18 NIV)
  Please read:
John 9:4; Jer.13:16; Zeph.1:15; Matt.24:29; Joel 2:2,31; Rev.9:2; 2:26,28; Isa.60:1,2,3; Mal.4:2,3,4

Jesus foretold above at Matt.24:29 that "the power of the heavens would be shaken".
That is a parallel to Dan.12:7 where we are told that "the power of the holy ones will be brought to nothing".
If you don't know about the heavens, consisting of Christ (sun), ...moon (sealed anointed) ...and stars (individual anointed), as being the symbolic heavens; Please consider this post:
As regards the heavens being shaken", please derive what that is describing, from these verses:
(Ps.16:8; 21:7; 60:2; 109:23; Isa.54:10; Amos 9:9; Job 34:20)
Why would God, "shake the heavens"?
He tells us at Haggai 2...
"6 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. 7 I will shake all nations, *and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty." *(Zech.4:10; Mal.3:1-2,3-4).

God is shaking loose, all that which is spiritually desirable from the midst of the heavens, earth, sea, and parched realms (Ps.82:5; 105:28). That advances God's purpose, to harvest those who are inclined toward divine truth and life before the End of the age
(Matt.13:30,38,39,40; Mark 4:26-27,28-29; Rev.14:14,15,16; Matt.13:47-48,49-50,30;  2Pet.3:7,10). Fire is symbolic Jer.23:29; Jer.5:14 NIV ; Rev.11:5) (LINK: Fire-from-Heaven).
Since the time of Jesus, those inclined toward everlasting life have been being gathered in (John 4:35-36). But the time arrives to reap the final, late crop (Amos 7:1-2,8; Isa.65:8; Eze.14:22).

When the heavens are shaken and the sun, moon, and stars cannot give their light (Isa.13:9-10; Eze.32:8; Matt.24:29). This is caused by the army of locusts who darken the heavens (Joel 2:2-3,10,12,25,31-32; Rev.9:2-3). They are sourced in the enemy of divine light and life... the father of deception and death (John 8:44; Rev.13:4; 9:11; Isa.33:1).
The anointed priesthood is assigned to wage spiritual war against the Devil's dark forces... once their daystar arrives to deliver them from the dark.
(2Pet.1:19; Mal.4:2; Acts 3:20; Hosea 6:3; Isa.60:1; Hosea 2:23; Rev.22:16; John 14:21)
(Eph.6:12; 2:1-2;  2Cor.4:3-4,5-6; Eph.4:18; 5:8,9,10,11-12,13-14;  2Cor.10:3,4,5; Rev.17:14)
(Ps.18:28; 107:14; 112:4; Isa.9:2;  1Pet.2:9; Col.1:13,21;  1Thess.5:4,5,6; John 1:5).

If you have not yet read about the cause of the Great Tribulation; if you read the following post link, you will understand how this locust-scorpion army causes the Great Tribulation.
The battle of Armageddon, is that battle between truth and deception, after Christ's anointed are set free from being trampled by the Gentiles, and they repent of their ignorant captivity to demonic deception (Isa.30:26; 5:30; 59:9; Matt.24:24-25; 5:13; Luke 21:20; Ps.143:3; Rev.13:7,10; Col.2:8; Luke 21:24; Dan.11:33; Eph.4:18-19; Col.1:21) (1Tim.4:1; Rev.16:13-14) (Col.1:13-14;  1Pet.2:9)

All heavenly light is cloaked during the Great Tribulation, it is the "night when no one can work" (John 9:4).
That could not have been in the first century, because at that time Jesus said "“My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” (John 5:17).
It's very important to learn and understand from scripture, about the cause and effect of the Great Tribulation upon those who God considers his people (1Pet.2:9,10). If you haven't read that yet, please do (especially the scriptures)> (https://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-greatest-tribulation-why.html)
My point, is that the Great Tribulation is a time of darkness to the point of being totally blind. That tribulation causes the body members to be cut off from Christ (Dan.8:11,13; 9:26; 11:22; John 15:5). They have no light, without him.
Without him, they can do nothing (John 15:4-5; 9:4).
