"Like Dawn Spreading Over the Mountains"

"Like DAWN spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was in ancient times nor ever will be in ages to come." (Joel 2:2)

We know that this is the army of locusts, who cause the great tribulation which was described by Jesus as "21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now – and never to be equaled again." (Matt.24).

Now the point that I would like to make, is that the original word "DAWN" in Joel 2:2 refers to the line between day and night, light and darkness. In science, it is referred to as the "terminator".

The reason why I raise this information, is because the army of locusts referred to at Joel 2:2, is compared to that line, and most translations attribute their advance, as bringing dawn, rather than twilight/dusk.
Yet if we look at the context of Joel 2:2, as well as the cross-reference in Rev.9:2-3, we see that the terminator line spreading over the mountains, is not dawn, but an advancing darkness...

Joel2: "2 *a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness.*
Like (dawn) spreading across the mountains
a large and mighty army comes,
such as never was in ancient times
nor ever will be in ages to come.
10 Before them the earth shakes,
    the heavens tremble,
*the sun and moon are darkened,
and the stars no longer shine.* "

That is in harmony with the English Standard Version of the Bible.*
It reads that what is spread upon the mountains is not "dawn", but "blackness".
Please read its rendition of Joel 2:1-2 here: *Joel 2:2ESV

Now lets do that comparison to the locusts at Rev.9:2-3...
Rev.9: "2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss. 3 And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth."

The terminator line of this locust army does not really bring dawn. It brings twilight and the onset of night... the night in which "no one can work" for God (John 9:4; Isa.59:9-10,15).
We do receive confirmation by another scripture, for what this locust army causes to spread over the mountains (Joel 2:2) (dawn -or- twilight?),
at
Jer.13:16:
"16 Give glory to the Lord your God
    before he brings the darkness,
before your feet stumble
    on the darkening mountains
You hope for light, (Luke 17:22)
but he will turn it to utter darkness
and change it to deep gloom."

Why then, is the effect of this invasion, referred to as Dawn?
2Cor. 11:13-15,12; Eph.5:11

2Thess. 2:1-3 explains that there is prophesied to be a premature, false declaration of the arrival of Christ (Matt.24:24-25).
It is Jesus Christ that brings the true Dawn with him (Mal.4:2; Matt.4:16;  2Pet. 1:19; Rev.1:16; 22:16).
The premature announcement of Christ's arrival to install his faithful over the kingdom, is counterfeit.

That counterfeit, premature arrival of Christ (1914), is fabricated, and borne through the arrival of the army of Joel 2:2.
For those of you who are JWs and ex-JWs... you have seen the fulfillment of this counterfeit.
It is asserted by this false teaching
that the birth and manifestation of the organization (1918-19),
[which is chiefly consisting of Gentile elders who are not anointed Jews (Rom.2:28-29; Col.2:11)],
is the manifestation of Christ's arrival and appointment of the faithful of his slaves who preside atop that organization (Luke 12:42-44,40,35-37; Rev.3:20,19).
That assertion is False.
Both that "arrival", and it's manifestation within the backbone of the organization (the "elders"), is a counterfeit arrival of divine light and truth.

The locust army of Joel 2:2 and Rev.9:2-3, comprise the counterfeit Dawn. (Isa.5:20; 59:9-11)
That locust army is bringing a counterfeit dawn/light/truth. Their terminator line brings the onset of night/darkness/twilight/blindness, and lack of spiritual perception.
Their description of bringing DAWN, is referring to their disguise.
