144,000 and Great Crowd, Compared [] Sealed [] Serving as Priests

This comment below was left under the post: 
It read; 
"You imply that the 144000 and the great crowd are similar in the way that both groups have been anointed (does this therefore mean that they are given the same assignment? If not, how do their roles differ?). This makes sense as only 'priests' or anointed may "render... sacred service day and night in his temple" without defilement. Are you implying that only those who are anointed are saved and sealed to reign with Christ and worship God? If so, who do they reign over if they are all priests? If not, how may non-anointed ones serve or worship Him without defilement or be saved, or how can they become anointed? (please excuse my misunderstanding if these are simple questions as I have only begun studying the bible around 5-6 months ago)"

My response:
First you ask if all anointed receive the same assignment.
If you recall, all anointed who are joined to Christ their head, become one spirit with him because they become a part of his body 
(Eph.5:23; 4:14; 1:22-23;  1Cor.6:17; John 17:21,23; 15:4-5,7-8;  1Cor.12:27).
---All anointed priests are required to produce fine fruit, which symbolizes the teaching of divine truth (Mal.2:7;  1John2:20,27).

---Priests offer incense, which means to offer prayer in behalf of others 
(Luke 1:9; Ps.141:2; Rev.5:8 <(note "elders"); James 5:14-15 <(note "elders");  1Cor.6:1,2,3)
None other than priest, can offer incense or sacrifice. Yet even in this, there are specific rules. The prophet Samuel was a priest of God in the days when Saul was king of Israel. Even the king could not perform the duties of priest 
(1Sam.13:7-14;  2Chron.23:6-7). All are to observe God's law to honor the distinction God makes, between the consecrated and the common.
---All priests are to offer the sacrifice of praise to God, the "bulls" of the lips (Hosea 14:2 (ESV) ; Heb.13:15). 

Next you ask;
"If not (all given the same assignment), how do their roles differ?

This question assumes that the role of priest cannot vary among individual priests, unless they are not given the same assignment.
As mentioned above, the general assignment of priest contains some common services. There are others in addition to the ones mentioned. 
If you remember back to the practice of anointing in Israel, it was used to manifest God's choosing of a priest or king. Although an anointed king was given the general assignment to rule God's nation; each king faced various circumstances, which he as an individual would need to be responsible for. In most cases, God would communicate to that king through a prophet, outlining particular responsibilities for that individual king.

Although there are the general assignments given to all New Covenant anointed priests, regardless of when they live; their individual roles, do differ. So may their circumstances.
How do we know this?
Well remember above that I mentioned the union of the Body members of Christ, with him as Head?
Your question, is addressed in 1Corinthians, chapter 12.
I'll quote some key verses...
1Cor.12:
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. 12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 14 And so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?"

These differences do reflect God's original Temple in Israel, which was designed as a physical pattern of the spiritual reality of heaven (2Chron.31:2;  1Chron.9:22-23,26,28-30; Heb.8:1-2,5).
Please give another look at verse 29 which reads;
"29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers?"
All the apostles, prophets, and teachers in the body of Christ, are anointed into their assignment as priests. How do those assignments compare both in commonality and uniqueness?
Note that verse 28 (underlined above) shows us an order to Christ's Body. 
The apostles are primary, next are the prophets, then teachers, etc.
To show that these positions are not always fluid, those who are assigned lesser responsibility than a teacher, are given the advice of James 3:1. Yet each one's assignment includes all gifts under them. For example, the apostles can prophesy and teach. Prophets can teach. Teachers can heal, help, and guide. Yet those given less, can not will themselves to be an apostle or prophet, or even a teacher (Matt.25:14-15;  1Pet.4:10). This is further revealed at Num.3:3-4; Lev.10:1; 16:1-2.
God considers it an even greater abomination, if the priesthood is traversed by uncircumcised foreigners (Eze.44:6-7,8-9,13;  2Chron.13:9). It has been long prophesied that this exact abomination takes place in the time of the End (Matt.24:15; Dan.11:31,36;  2Thess.2:4; Rev.11:2)

That order of Christ's Body members, is also the order of God's Temple of living stones (1Pet.2:5).
The Body and Temple are the same identity, both being expressed through each symbol (body,temple)(John 2:21).
We learn that at Eph.2:
20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."
 Eph.2:6; Heb.12:22-23; 8:2,5

Just as the apostles are "first" and prophets are "second" (1Cor.12:28) and all the other Body parts of Christ come to follow them; At Eph.2:20, we learn the reason for that order. The "first" and "second" are the foundation.
So, to be direct...
all anointed priests are assigned to belong to the Body of Christ, and, are all living stones of God's habitation.
Yet their roles can certainly differ, even while they all offer sacred service day and night.
Even among the apostles ...their assignments differed from one another. Yet they were all apostles and foundation stones to the Holy City and the Christian faith (Rev.21:14).

You next ask;

Not sure how you got this idea, and I wonder if you understand what it means to be "saved" or to be "sealed". You are connecting being "sealed to reigning with Christ" and then you hook on "and worship God".
I'll have to take that in pieces.

       No. The role of priest is to assist others to be saved.

       I wonder if you know what it means to be sealed. 
It means to be spiritually marked as a slave of God. That mark is present when a person has God's Laws written on their heart and mind. God's Laws govern that one's faith, conscience, and actions. They then have the seal of God written on their forehead and hand (Deut.11:18; Rev.7:3; 14:1).

I don't know why you say "sealed to reign".
One can be sealed as a slave of God, without being a royal heir. There are those who were chosen to reign, who fail to get sealed. In fact, they even become sealed as obedient, idolater slaves of an Idol (Rev.13:16,7,10; Col.2:8; Luke 21:24; Dan.11:33).

And finally you ask; "Are you implying that only those who are anointed...worship God?"
       I'm not clear why you are asking this.
Don't you recall that the whole nation of Israel, along with foreigners, worshiped God?
Were all those worshipers, anointed kings or priests?
I assume you already know that all those who worship God, are not anointed.
Genuine anointed Kings and Priests since the time of Christ, are designated, chosen, and assigned, 
to serve God, each other, and those who desire life from Christ.

Next you ask;

That question is two-part.
FIRST:

All may serve and worship God without defilement and be saved, by learning from Christ and God. God sent Christ into the world to save it. That salvation is through Christ's teaching (John 6:63) because of the spirit of life and light, contained in the teaching. 
However, 
if a person has not been chosen and anointed by God to be a priest, they are not permitted to serve in that capacity. If they do enter into that service, they do defile it.

How do priests fit into the salvation of others?
I'll cite Mal.2:7 again. 
The teaching of life is symbolized as light, living water, a grapevine, or incorruptible wheat seed.
All three, originate with Jesus Christ 
(John 1:4,9,14; 8:12; 4:10,14; John 15:5; Luke 8:11;  1Pet.1:23; John 3:34; 6:51,35).

All three, are given by spirit to God's anointed priests, to continue the ministry of Christ.
(2Cor.5:20; 4:6;  1Pet.2:9; Matt.5:14-16)(Rev.22:17)
(John 15:16; Luke 6:43-45; Matt.13:51-52; 7:20; Rev.22:1-3)
(1Cor.10:17; Luke 8:15; Matt.13:37-38) 
(John 13:20;  1Cor.4:1; John 21:17; Luke 12:42)

SECOND:
Lastly you ask, "how may non-anointed...become anointed?"

Non-anointed become anointed, because God chooses them to be so. That assignment is not something that we can aspire to, or attain on our own. 
We recall that we previously looked at the apostles as being "first"... the foundation of God's spiritual Temple. Did they choose that position and earn it in some way?
Well, John 6:70 shows that they were chosen. (John 15:16)
   If you read in the Bible, the accounts of their individual choosing, you will see that they did not anticipate when Jesus approached and chose them. It is the same when we are anointed, and Jesus circumcises our heart [Rom.2:28-29; Col.2:11 (NIV)]. The event is unexpected and miraculous.

You brought up the distinction between the 144,000 and the Great Crowd; yet your questions did not really probe the distinction between their circumstances, nor how their responsibilities differ.

The 144000 reign with Christ DURING the symbolic thousand years (Rev.20:6). They exercise their authority to represent Christ, in the time during which, Jesus is subduing his enemies through the anointed (Mount Zion -Rev.14:1; Psalm 110:2) (Luke 22:69; Ps.110:1-2;  1Cor.15:25).

When that symbolic 1,000 year period ends, Satan is released from the abyss. 
He goes off to wage war with the remaining anointed (Rev.20:7-9; 17:14; 12:17). 
That enmity between Satan and his minions, against Christ and his faithful, is the period of time called the Great Tribulation which evolves into Armageddon. 
That is the era during which the Great Crowd exist (Rev.7:9,13,14,15). 

We read above in 1Cor.15:25 that Jesus rules until all enemies are subdued beneath his feet. Obviously, when Satan is released, gathers his forces, and attacks the anointed... all enemies are not yet subdued. 
1Cor.15:26 tells us that the very last enemy is "Death". That is the enemy that the Great Crowd must overcome, with Christ's help. That enemy emerges during the 4th watch. You can see God's watchman sound the warning as that enemy approaches, at Rev.6:7 (NKJV) and Rev.6:8 (NKJV)

The anointed kings under Christ are always charged with bringing Christ to those who want and accept him. 
The 144000 do that during Satan being restrained in the abyss. 
The Great Crowd must do that when Satan is loosed.

Great Crowd serves "In the Temple"

Operation of Error - II

This is MY response to a letter I received. 
I thought it's content would be helpful to the readers here.

Dear Xxxx,
It seems you still believe the false teaching about the identity of the "little flock" (Luke 12:32).
You said;
  "Regarding the kingdom. it was 29 ce/33 ce.
and there is little flock of both Jews and Gentiles.
There is other sheep of both Jews and Gentiles."

While it is true that the "Thousand Year" kingdom of Christ began in the first century; 
("Two Kingdoms")
("Thousand Years")
...and that there were anointed and non-anointed in the first century;
the "little flock" was the Jewish anointed, who were first to be Jesus' disciples (Matt.15:24; 10:6) and be counted as kingdom heirs (Acts 13:45,46; 10:45,47,34,35), due to their belonging to the body of Christ (Gal.3:29,26) and due to their heritage as physical descendants of Abraham. AFTERWARD, the Gentiles also could become anointed by God's spirit, and joined in that "one flock" with "one shepherd" (see scriptures above, in Acts).
The little flock was the Jewish anointed. The "other sheep, not of *this fold" (*this--physical Jews); were the Gentile anointed to come later (John 10:16; Acts 13:46).

I hope you read them. They will clean the lie from your mind, and help you to remove the mark of the Beast on your mind, and replace it with the truth of God's Word...  (Deut.6:6,8; Rev.13:16)

Those who are not anointed, were not those whom Jesus referred to as "other sheep".
As you will see from the scriptures in those links, the "other sheep" are physical Gentiles who become a part of the "One flock" of anointed. Once in that flock, they all become  spiritual  "Jews" / "seed of Abraham" (Matt.3:9; Gal.3:28,29; Rom.4:16; 2:28,29).

Those who are not anointed can receive salvation, by accepting the faithful anointed ambassadors of Christ 
(John 13:20; Matt.10:14;  1Cor. 4:1;  2Cor. 5:20; Col.1:20; Mal.2:7; Rev.1:6; 5:10; Zech.8:23; Rev.21:3; Micah 4:2; Rev.14:1). 
They are God's Temple 
(1Cor. 3:16; Micah 1:2; Jer.42:5; 22:29; Rev.11:3,4; Zech.4:11,14).

 If they DO accept the priests which Christ has sent, they will receive the same reward of life 
(Matt.10:40,41,42; Mark 9:41; Gal.3:29).

But you are right, there were those in the first Century, who were not anointed, but were still disciples of Christ. 
These were commended for their care of the "Holy Ones" (1Pet. 2:9,10; Heb.6:10;  1Cor. 1:2; Matt.25:37,38,39,40).

It is likely, as you said, that those who believed in forcing the circumcision issue upon the apostle Paul's work by Holy Spirit, were not even anointed (Acts 15:5). 
It is the same today, in that we have elders who are not anointed...
yet they also force beliefs that are not correct,
upon anointed who are enabled by God's spirit to recognize those doctrines as false.
These non-anointed elders are spiritual Gentiles. They trample the anointed Temple of God to be in subjection to them 
(1Cor. 3:16; Rev.11:2; Dan.7:25; 8:10,13; 11:36;  2Thess. 2:4; Luke 21:24; Rev.13:10,7). 
They are fake priests, and are the "disgusting thing, standing in the Holy Place (Temple)" (Mark.13:14;  2Chron. 23:6).

The governing body has given the non-anointed elders, fake authority and permission to take over the priesthood 
(Eze.44:6,7,8,9;  2Chron. 13:9). 
(Eze.44:8 was translated wrong in the old N.W.T., ...Check the Hebrew interlinear, and any other Bible. This has recently been corrected by the WT, to agree with other translations.)

Because the governing body has given them this fake power and fake "spirit directed" authority (Rev.13:15,8);
the image of the Organization is given the worship due Christ and the attentive consideration due his genuine Body of priests (1Cor. 6:2; Rom.14:4; 8:33).
Any who do not accept the fake authority which the false prophet gives the Gentile Wild Beast, and the image of spirit in it,
are thrown out, and killed (Rev.13:15,8,7; John 16:2; Mark 8:35; 13:13; Rev.6:9,10,11; 11:7,8).
This slavery to the Beast, is Idolatry (Rom.6:16; Gal.1:10). The Organization made of non-anointed elders and overseers,
is NOT the Body of Christ. It is not "spirit-directed" (John 20:21,22) (Rev.13:15). The governing body which teaches this lie, is the false prophet (Rev.19:20).

Resurrection/Judgment/Life and Death/Times

I know this is a long post. It is a revision of a past post.
I have been shown more information about this subject, and have expressed this in the additions.
It is based upon a past question. I suggest studying it in sections, so that all scriptures can be closely examined.

Here is the scripture you reference...
Matt.19:27-28:
"Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?”
 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."

Your question:
Matt 19:27-28 - does that mean that the apostles were resurrected when Jesus received the rulership from his father in 33 CE and have been judging the Chosen ones since then?

  Likely Peter did not yet realize (John 16:12; Mark 8:18,21) that all disciples, especially the anointed would have to leave "everything to follow" Christ 
(Luke 9:23; 17:31-32; 9:62; Phil.3:8;  1Cor.11:1;  2Tim.3:12; John 16:12; Mark 8:34)...not just the apostles (Matt.19:27).
(When Jesus told them that they would judge the tribes of Israel, the apostles may have been thinking, that Jesus was referring to "fleshly" Israel (Gal.4:25; Luke 19:11) under the Old Covenant, due to his previous instructions (Matt.15:24; 10:5-6,7) which would soon change
(Heb.8:13; Gal.4:25,30,26,31) (Acts 10:34-35; 13:46; Gal.3:28-29; Acts 13:47).
Peter also may not have yet realized, that these twelve apostles, as such, (1Cor.12:28-29) would (upon their anointment), occupy "first" place (foundation) in the rank/"class", within the entire anointed body of Christ (Eph.2:20;  1Cor.3:10; Rev.21:14; Matt.16:18-19),
and that this "Body" (1Cor.12:27-28) would be the "Israel" Jesus was now referring to

Once sealed, all victorious Chosen ones (including the faithful apostles), live forever (1Cor.15:22-23; John 5:24;  1John 3:14; Rev.20:6).
All other parts of Christ's body, the "Israel of God", would be in subjection to these who are "first" in "rank"/"class"/"set".

Different ranks within the body of Christ?
Consider the scriptural meaning of the root word for Christ...
The noun Christos (christos), meaning anointed, comes from the Greek verb chrio (chrio), meaning to smear or anoint. The Septuagint (the ancient Greek translation of the Old Testament) uses this verb to describe any kind of smearing, pouring or anointing, ranging from regular armory maintenance (2Sam.1:21, Isa.21:5) to basic medical routines (Isa.1:6).

In Israel, the ritualistic act of anointing was performed to inaugurate people into certain specific offices, and only offices that had no earthly superior and were subject only to God. Thus only a High Priest (Leviticus 8:12; 4:3) and a prophet and a king would be anointed into office (1Kings 19:16). Regular priests and certain venerable objects would be consecrated by receiving a mere sprinkling of the oil (Ex.30:26, Lev.8:30).  Aaron had already received his anointing as the High Priest (Leviticus 8:12). All "anointing", is not equal, either in purpose, resulting stature, or in sanctifying power.

This "first" place of the apostles (1Cor.12:28; Eph.2:20) is demonstrated, when all anointed "parts" of Christ's body, subject themselves to the Greek scriptures, and base all they teach upon them (1Cor.3:10), which testimonies were written largely by these 12.

Jesus here tells Peter, exactly how these would be "first". He says that they will "judge" the "tribes of Israel". These twelve are the main part of the "foundation" of the Holy City (Eph.2:19-20; 3:5; Rev.21:14); and they determine all those to be "built up" upon  them/their foundation (1Cor.3:9-10; Eph.2:21). Those tribes that were to come, are referred to in Rev.7:4. There it speaks of those who attain a seal to become established as part of the 12 tribes of the 144,000, built upon the "foundation" of the 12 apostles and the anointed prophets.
In speaking of this "rockmass" foundation of the twelve, Jesus said in their presence:
"And I tell you that you are Peter ("a rock"), and on this rock-mass (plural) I will build my congregation, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

  The twelve tribes of spiritual Israel that were to come upon the basis of the "rock-mass" foundation, are referred to in Rev.7:4. There it speaks of those who attain a seal to become established as part of the 12 tribes of the 144,000, built upon the "foundation" of the 12 apostles and the anointed prophets.

As stated at Rev.7:4, these 144000 are sealed from among the twelve tribes. In other words, those being selected, are from a pool of the twelve tribes of spiritual Jews (Rom.2:29; Gal.3:29), people in Covenant with God..."Israelites" (Gal.6:15-16). They have all been offered a promise from God....That should they prove faithful and endure to the end,
(Luke 13:24; Matt.10:22;  1Cor.4:1-2; Matt.25:14,19,21,24-25,26,30),
the faithful will become sealed heirs with Christ and a permanent part of God's spiritual Temple Priesthood, to eternally serve as priests for the benefit of all creation.

Not all who are bought with Christ's blood (Rev.5:9-10) succeed in winning that race 
(1Cor.9:24-25; Luke 21:36; Matt.24:13; Mark 8:35; Rev.3:11; 7:4;  2Pet.2:1; Matt.22:14)

Who will judge the winners of the seal? Primarily Jesus Christ (Rev.7:2; Isa.41:2; Mal.4:2; Luke 1:78; Isa.60:1; Rev.22:16; 2:28; Prov.4:18)
At Matt.19:28, Jesus tells the twelve apostles, that he shares the judging by bestowing this position upon them (1Cor.6:3). These 12 Patriarchs of spiritual Israel, choose whom they adopt for their own tribe... Just as the 12 sons of Jacob/fleshly Israel, had a tribe of sons under each of them (1Chron.2:1-2;  1Cor.15:46).
  When do the twelve begin this job of judging the candidates....which started to be chosen in the first century, up until our present time?

Jesus said that many living during his era would not see death at all (John 8:51; Ps.89:48; Matt.16:18 C; John 11:26). We are also told that many pass directly from death to life....a living condition in spirit (John 5:24;  2Cor.5:17;  1John 3:14; Rom.8:9; Eph.2:6; 1:3). Other men of faith are also mentioned as "living" to God (Mark 12:26-27). These are in the "memorial tombs".  Ecclesiastes (Ec.9:5-6) tells us that the "living" are conscious that they will die; but as for the "dead" "the remembrance of them is forgotten". Although we have been previously taught by the WT that this is applied physically,  I see it as spiritual......

"For the living know that they will die,
    but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
    and even their name is forgotten.
  Their love, their hate
    and their jealousy have long since vanished;
never again will they have a part
    in anything that happens under the sun."

These "dead" in spirit are "forgotten" and their "knowing" has expired. I suspect they are not in the "memorial tombs" awaiting resurrection (John 5:28-29), but rather in Hades... the realm of those in darkness (Link:what-is-sheole-hades?).
As Ec.9:5-6  states..."they have no further reward" and "never again will they have a part in anything".
I strongly suspect that in God's eyes, they were spiritually dead (1Tim.5:6; Luke 15:24; Rev.3:1), and have no future reward, nor life, under God's Kingdom. (Col.2:13; Eph.2:1;  1Tim.5:6).
Those deemed as worthy of a place in God's memory, (viewed by Him as good as living); seemed capable of physical death. As Ec.9:5 stated, "the "living" are conscious that they will die".
So we see it is likely that those who were faithful before Christ, died (in every sense), although saved in God's memory for a future resurrection (when they would be "made perfect" through a future City prepared for them) (Heb.11:13,16,39-40), did indeed "die".

My point is that, up until the apostles, faithful men died and became unconscious.
What about after Jesus came?
John 11:25-26 reads...
"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die (physically?); and whoever lives by believing in me will never die (spiritually?). Do you believe this?”

This riddle contains our answer, as to whether the apostles transferred from physical life to spiritual life, without ever dying spiritually (John 6:63;  2Cor.4:16-17,18). If so, it would enable them to judge chosen anointed, during the period in which each of those anointed ones lived.

"But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, those who belong to him at his presence. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death."

"The rest of the dead did not come to life until the Thousand Years has ended" (Rev.20:4-5,6) 
 Just to clarify these scriptures here:  The first resurrection applies to the "priests and kings" who were killed for their testimony and reign with Jesus for the thousand years. They were just mentioned in verse 4.  They are not to the "rest" who don't come to life until the end of the thousand years. (See: coming-to-life)
Yet death is conquered for the "firstfruits", when they come to life (Jer.2:3; James 1:18; Eph.1:13; John 1:13;  2Cor.5:17,16;  1Cor.6:17; 15:54-55,56-57; Rom.8:37; Heb.2:14;  1John 5:4).

This last enemy death, is not fully destroyed, until all faithful anointed attain to life (including the remnant Great Crowd). But a total "end" of death is not only talking about the first resurrection of the priests and kings, who are said to get life first. (Rev.20:4,6; John 5:21).

At the point at which the 144000 attain to life, the basis of life for the rest is also attained through them....just as the basis of life for them, was attained through Christ.
The basis of life for both, is a "mother" covenant (Gal.4:26,24).
The covenant for the 144,000 is Jerusalem above...the New Covenant/Promise (Gal.4:28; Rom.9:8). As the called and chosen children of that covenant (1Pet.1:23; John 1:13; James 1:18;  1John 3:9) become sealed as faithful by maturing in light and truth, they become that "free" "mother" covenant to the rest (John 8:32,36; Gal.4:26; Rom.6:18,22; 8:2). At that point, the "promise" is fulfilled.
In other words...Jerusalem above is a promise. Sealing is the promise fulfilled and materialized. That fulfilled covenant of 144000 "new creation" members, are the agents of the "mother" Covenant, to the rest of Creation, serving as priests even while they are yet on earth (Mal.2:7). These become the bride of Christ...the covenant of the kingdom (Luke 17:21), to produce the next generation of living seed... the new earth....(the "rest" Rev.20:4-5,6;  1John 2:2)

We know that Christ's "presence" with his anointed, started in the first century and was promised to last until the end (see Matt.28:20 B)...
"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
But there is a culmination of this harvest of the earth 
(Rev.14:16; Matt.25:31-32; 16:27; 24:31; 13:40-41)

"But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits (during the thousand Years); then, those who belong to him at his presence (remaining ones/remnant/Great Crowd)."

Christ's presence near the "end of the age" will be when he comes / returns, to settle accounts with his servants...the final judgment. This will be during a time of unprecedented distress, and many will fall. (Matt.24:3,9-10; 7:13-14)

Since the first century, Christ is ruling (Ps.110:1-2;  1Cor.15:25,24) with his chosen brothers (Eph.2:6,10; 1:3; Luke 22:29; 12:32; Luke 10:18-19,20). This kingdom is limited in scope ("a 'thousand years'"), while these are appointed over "a little". When the kingdom of the world becomes the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ (Rev.11:15; Dan.7:9,18,22),
and when God's will is done on earth as it is in "heaven" (Matt.6:10), then those who prove faithful over this little (Matt.25:14; Luke 16:10; Matt.25:23; Luke 19:17), will be appointed over all Creation (Ps.2:7-8,9; Rev.2:26-27; 3:21; Dan.7:18; Ps.37:11,29; Heb.2:5,16)

From all these foregoing scriptures, it would seem that anointed faithful are transferred into living spirit, even while they are still living their physical lifetimes (John 5:24). When their physical bodies die, their spirit endures... they are "changed" to inhabit an eternal spirit, "in the twinkle of an eye", and can "never die" (John 11:26).
Now note 2Cor.5:18-19,20 within it's context:
"17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, the new is here. 18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God"

To "be reconciled" is to be forgiven of sin and to live (Rom.5:10-11).
If those who have already received this life first; appeal to yet others in a "ministry of reconciliation" to God for "the world" through these "ambassadors for Christ",
does not the second resurrection occur when that reconciliation occurs?

Remember what Jesus said at Matt.10:40-41?
Those who accept the reconciliation through it's agents, receive the reward of it's agents...
forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and life! (Matt.10:41)
Remembering that Revelation is symbolic, this first and second resurrection is depicted as occurring as first one, and then the other. This is true, and yet as part of Revelation, must also be symbolic. How so?

The anointed priests must be saved first, through the word planted in their heart (Luke 8:11,15; Matt.13:23; James 1:25,23-24). That word must be cultivated inside that heart (Matt.13:8,23; James 1:21; John 17:17; Eph.5:26). This cleansing of the heart by the Word of God, is the circumcision of the heart by spirit (Rom.2:26,28-29; Matt.23:26; Deut.30:6; Jer.4:4; Col.2:11). This occurs as the word ("seed") is cultivated and brought to maturity 
(James 1:21-22,25; Eph.1:13; 4:22,13; Rom.6:17;  2Tim.1:13; 2:2) (Heb.5:8-9; 12:2,1,9,28; Eph.4:13-14,15;  1Pet.2:2,21).
Once maturity is attained, one becomes a representative (ambassador) of the word ("seed") in the world (Matt.13:26,37-38; Mark 4:28-29; Rev.14:15; John 4:35-36; Ec.11:6). Those who accept that message which is being offered by the mature sons of the kingdom (John 13:20; 20:23,21; Matt.16:19), THEN receive life, secondarily.
Can you see the primary and secondary receiving of life???
It is symbolic, in that the primary does not all occur at once...
neither the secondary occurs all at once.
It is symbolic.
Whenever a chosen one matures, testifies to truth and is sealed; living water issues forth from that one (John 7:38-39; Rev.22:1-2,17; 19:9; Matt.22:9-10).
Those who accept the invitation, can also receive life, by partaking of the spiritual feast of truth. It does not matter when in literal time these ones come to life.
In this way, the "first" and "second" resurrections/"awakenings", are symbolic....during the "gathering together" of the things of the "heavens" (anointed firstfruits) and the secondary harvest... the things "of earth" (Eph.1:10; 3:2; Col.1:20) --all creation -Rom.8:19,21...by means of truth.

I hope that readers can discern, that the bestowing of life occurs at one's opportunity to receive it, no matter what year it is. The "seven times"/"seven trumpets" are not literal years, but rather, a spiritual progression from spiritual babe to the full grown stature of Christ....
the seed in the heart brought to maturity during one's lifetime...
the ministry of truth that results...
and the life that results to others because of that ministry.
The literal years during which this occurs, in the lives of the ambassadors or their recipients, matters not. In this way, it is true to the book of Revelation, in that this "first" and "second" resurrection, is symbolic.

Jesus said "and whoever lives by believing in me will never die". The "last enemy" death, is conquered on an individual basis. Yet the time will come, when the defeat of all death, finally arrives.
I see three groups....
1. Those already born of "incorruptible seed" (spiritually living 144000
    (1Pet.1:23; John 1:13; James 1:18;  1Pet.1:3;  1John 3:9) will never die,
    but have already "passed over, from death to life". Yet according to Jesus, they must continue
    to "believe in" him, exercising that faith (Rom.12:6; James 2:17,24,26).
2. There are also those anointed, who were conquered by Satan's final test (Rev.13:7,10), 
    and must be rescued and their sins, redeemed. These are redeemed after Christ's "Thousand Years" 
    to receive the second resurrection (see Link: Coming-to-Life).
3. Those who have faith in Christ, but have not been anointed by Holy Spirit... These must 
    attain their spiritual birth, by accepting the reconciliation to God being offered by it's ambassadors        (Mal.2:7;  2Cor.5:20; John 13:20)... who are their new spiritual mother and father (Gal.4:26; Isa.9:6).
    Jerusalem above who is the Bride of Christ, is mother to unsealed anointed as well. 
    All must learn by listening to the cornerstone and foundation which preceded them.

Why then does Paul refer to the first resurrection as occurring "at the last trumpet"?
We must remain open to the possibility, that this may not occur according to human physical timing.

The "seven trumpets" have a relation to seven eyes/spirits of God, the seven angels, and the seven times/stages of refinement. These things occur in the life of each anointed who become sealed, regardless of the era in which they live. These "times" represent a gauntlet of testing and a growth in understanding, refinement, maturity, enlightenment, activities, and purging of sinful flesh. The last trumpet is when each one conquers Death (1Cor.15:26,51-52,53-54,55,57-58; James 1:12;  2Tim.4:8).
I personally remain open to this arrival of the "seventh trumpet", as being within the heart of each sealed one.....just as the arrival of the daystar is (2Pet.1:19;  1Pet.1:22-23; Luke 17:21); which according to vision given me, occurs at the end of the "seven times". (1Thess.4:13-14,15-16,17-18)

Each "time" carries with it, a symbolic "milestone" of accomplishment of requirements, within the heart of each anointed one, until they reach the full maturity of Christ (Eph.4:13; Heb.5:14;  1Cor.2:6) and are sealed. The sealing of the final remnant, will cause these sevens to be manifested with finality, and there will finally be observable consequences to the world around us....just as the seven trumpets finally impacted the city of Jericho (Joshua 6:8,20)

So...how did the twelve apostles judge each chosen anointed one throughout time?

The anointed attain spirit life now (Rom.8:9;  1John 3:14; Eph.2:6; Heb.12:22-23; Jude 1:8;  2Pet.2:10).
How do the apostles judge each anointed one that has followed them?
We are told about this, at Rev.20:4,11-12,13-14,15; Dan.7:9,22; Jude 1:14-15; Matt.25:40,45-46.

The apostles have laid the foundation of the Christian faith, based upon Christ...the "cornerstone" of God's spiritual Temple (Matt.21:42; Acts 4:11).
Those who obey the "Good News" of this kingdom authority of Christ, the apostles and anointed prophets, are built up on that foundation (Eph.2:20-21,22;  1Pet.2:5,9).
Like Noah, Daniel, and Job (Eze.14:14); all faithful anointed establish a record of righteous obedience to God in imitation of Christ (Rev.19:8), despite Satanic adversity (Luke 22:31; Acts 14:22; John 16:20). Like Noah, they provide a means of salvation from Satanic flood (Rev.12:15,6; 11:3). So we can learn much from looking at how Noah himself, actually judged a whole world...
Heb.11:7 reads,
"By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith."

By faithful deeds, those loyal to God establish an attainable standard.
Those who fail to meet that standard, are judged by those who succeeded.
Can you see this?

Let's return to Christ's words...
"Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?
 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne (Matt.28:18; Luke 22:69-70; Matt.26:64; Ps.110:1;  1Cor.15:25), you who have followed me (Luke 22:28; Mark 8:34; Rev.14:4) will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel." (Matt.19:27-28)

I believe that every faithful one, judges those who face the same trials and tests, yet prove unfaithful (1Cor.6:2).
This is why all those who prove faithful, are symbolically seen on thrones, rendering judgment (Rev.20:4). As we know, "twelve" thrones, represent the power and authority of the Truth

and the "tribes of Israel" are those who are called and chosen, but not yet sealed as faithful slaves of God (Deut.11:18; Rev.7:3-4; Matt.22:14; Luke 13:24; Matt.7:13-14,21).
These are "asleep", unripe, immature, undeveloped, and not yet sealed.
Such ones are naturally judged by those who have brought the word to perfection and have "produced a crop"...willing to lose their very lives for Christ. (John 15:8; Matt.24:45; Mark 8:35; Rev.6:9,11; 12:11)
There is the patience of God for these. But time is running out. (Luke 13:5-6,7-8,9; Rev.6:13; Matt.21:19).
The basis of judgment for all....are the scriptures we already have...the Word of God...the scrolls which are being "opened"/understood (Rev.20:12; Luke 24:32,45) in the time of the end (Dan.12:4,8-9,10) are not "new".

Everyone,
no matter when they lived,
will then symbolically be brought into judgment by the Bible...once the last of the Chosen prove faithful to those same teachings. We return to Rev.20:11-12,13-14,15.
Any not found obedient to the Word of God...after the full number of faithful have been found beyond accusation (Rev.12:10-11)
the rest will be consigned to "the lake of fire".
The Lake of Fire is a symbol for the Word of God in a condemnatory capacity
(Jer.23:29; Jer.5:14NIV ; Hosea 6:5; Rev.11:5; Matt.10:20).

By God's Words, we are either proved obedient and righteous for life (Rev.3:5),
or by comparison, we are proved disobedient, and unrighteous (2Thess.1:8-9).
Those who fail to be reconciled to God, are not written in the Lambs scroll of Life (Rev.20:12,15; Rev.13:8).
What does this mean for them?
All are already under decay, corruption, and death. We all have bodies that degrade and die.
Only those who are saved by means of the word of life, have a future.
God does not have to kill anyone. They are already dying...
"enslaved to corruption" (Rom.8:20-21,22; 5:12).
Only those who love God, love others (their neighbors), and obey His Word and arrangement for salvation, "pass over from death to life"....
Matt.22:36-37,38-39,40;  1John 3:14; John 5:24
...not at some future time,
but right now (John 4:35;  2Cor.6:2;  2Pet.3:8; Rev.20:4)!  Now is the acceptable time. (2Cor.6:2)

The apostles "judge" those who enter into the Holy City.

(Rev.21:12-13,14,21 -twelve entrance gates to Holy City, with an "angel" over each gate).

The sealed members of the Holy City "judge" all others called and chosen.

This authority to judge their peers, is a natural result of their own faithfulness.
If any of these are unfaithful to Christ's Law of Love, they themselves are judged by the faithful in comparison (1Cor.6:3).

This is the same way in which Christ's faithfulness to God, during his lifetime on earth; judged Satan.
So too, those anointed who walk by spirit, judge the world, who walk by flesh 
(John 16:7-8,9-10,11-12,13; Luke 10:18; John 12:31) (1Cor.6:2;  1John 2:17).

What's in a Name?

A QUESTION I RECEIVED:

If a Christian is someone who worships Christ, why do JWs call themselves Christians?  Or do they? 
If not, what religious category do they consider themselves to be?

MY REPLY:

To answer this with accuracy, we will need to look at a few alternative viewpoints.
I will first take your words and viewpoints, and relate them to the group of your query.

First you say,
"If a Christian is someone who worships Christ"

When it comes to "Jehovah's Witnesses", they believe (last I heard and was taught while a member) is that a genuine Christian does not worship Christ. They teach that to be a genuine Christian is to discipline one's life in imitation of Christ's example and according to all he taught. Those teachings would be accessed through the scriptures. They also teach that imitation, study, and obedience is the limit, and all actual worship should go only to the heavenly Father of Jesus Christ, whom they call "Jehovah". They see a difference between obedient service, and worship. The Bible does not make this distinction.

So when you ask,
"why do JWs call themselves Christians?"....

it is because their idea of Christian, is to obey the teachings and example of Christ without worshiping him...
and this, they believe they do.

"Jehovah's Witnesses" have changed their name a few times.
First, it was "International Bible Students"
       then, "Jehovah's Witnesses"
       but now they prefer, "Jehovah's Christian Witnesses".
So as you can see by what the most recent name infers...
they do consider themselves Christian (based upon imitation, teachings, and discipleship)
while refraining from actually worshiping Christ.

They do therefore, consider themselves, Christians.
It is their hope that by adding "Christian" to their name,
they can dispel the general impression people have, that they do not believe in Jesus Christ.
They have retained the name "Jehovah" in their description,
  to emphasize who they believe should receive exclusive worship... believing the error that "Jehovah" is the name of God the Father.

Unfortunately, all these tenets of "Jehovah's Witnesses" actually obscure many accuracies and realities.
The Bible "Jehovah's Witnesses" use, translates the same Greek word "proskuneo" many different ways.
They translate it as "worship" when it refers to the heavenly Father,
but as "honor", "respect", "serve", etc., when it refers to the son, Jesus Christ.
Witnesses are generally not aware of this double standard when translating the "New Testament".

But more egregious than this inaccurate inconsistency,
is that while they appear and claim to give all glory, honor, and worship to God the Father
(even at the cost of the worship due Jesus Christ --Matt.8:2; 9:18; 15:25; 14:33; John 9:35,38; Mark 5:6; Luke 24:52; Heb.1:6)
they have, in actuality and in practice,
placed their organization and the men who direct it,
above God, above the Bible, and above Jesus Christ as Head of his anointed bride members.

This practice is proven, every time one of their members is disfellowshipped
for lacking
unquestioning subjection and obedience to that organization, 
and perfect harmony of thought with the current doctrines of it's leaders.
This expulsion typically occurs even while those being judged establish their differences and concerns by means of scripture!
In actual practice, the scriptures must take second place to Organizational doctrine.
Obedience to God and acceptance of His Word of Truth, must yield to the demands of these rulers, and the Congregational representatives who condemn on their behalf. (Acts 4:19-20; 5:29)

The organization itself has taken on a divinity to it's followers.
By every scriptural definition of the word "worship"...
     (Rev.13:8,16; Rom.6:16  -slavery/obedience, in one's thoughts and deeds)
that word describes what is expected of the members of "Jehovah's Witnesses",
toward their organization and it's leaders.
This has replaced the worship/obedience/slavery due God Himself.

They have unwittingly replaced the God they claim to worship exclusively,
with an organizational Idol, just as was prophesied about them (Rev.13:11-12,14-15,8;  2Thess.2:2,4; Rom.1:25).

The end result is that it really doesn't matter what these people call themselves,
nor what they claim. (Matt.15:8; Titus 1:16;  2Thess.2:8-9,10)

In practice and in faith, they hypocritically promote an ideal which they themselves do not in actuality, practice.
Jesus Christ would never follow an organization above his direct relationship with,
and loyalty to, his heavenly Father. Yet today, this betrayal toward Jesus is expected from anointed ones inside the organization.
Jesus regarded the authority of God's written Word as supreme,
and he took direct guidance by means of Holy Spirit. His apostles followed Christ's example (Acts 5:29; Gal.1:10).

"Jehovah's Witnesses" fail to fulfill their own definition of "Christian", in that they fail to imitate the course of Christ, when faced with a choice between Truth and their organization's ever-changing doctrines. (Matt.23:13-39 <click on to read)
Their loyalty to God and Truth has been replaced with a loyalty to men and their doctrine (Mark 7:7; Rom.1:25).
Jesus would never commit such idolatry! (Luke 4:8)

The stature of "witness" to the God "YHVH",
is defined at Isa.43:10-21 (click on to read).
That explanation given by God Himself, states plainly and clearly,
that God's witnesses are "chosen" by him individually.
They are the same group that the Bible calls "chosen ones" (1Pet.2:9).
Just as explained at Isa.43:21; their purpose is the same as 1Pet.2:9.

The common "Jehovah's Witness" has presumptuously dared to replace that chosen group (Matt.24:15),

due to the corrupt doctrines dispensed by those in power above them (Rev.8:10-11; 9:1; 13:11; Luke 12:45-46),
combined with the unquestioning worship (obedient slavery) with which those doctrines are received,
 as the "rank and file" gulp them down [Rev.12:16 (LINK)].... 
....[and allow those false doctrines to control their thinking and actions ("forehead" and "right hand") Rev.13:16 ...rather than God (Deut.11:18)] (LINK).

 God's Word prophesies about this very group, as being false witnesses (Rev.13:16-17,18), all the while wrongly assuming that they are bearing His Holy Name (Jer.25:29-30; Joel 3:13; Rev.14:19)!

Your last question...
"what religious category do they consider themselves to be?"

"Jehovah's Witnesses" consider themselves within the exclusive category as the only ones having divine truth [despite doctrine that changes (meaning of bad fruit that rots -Luke 6:43; Matt.7:20)] and deserving of eternal life. They falsely assume this, essentially because they have the approval of men.
This approval of an organization gives them a false confidence of "peace and security" with God (1Thess.5:3; Ps.146:3).
But they fail to fear God alone, by seeking His approval by means of God's own expressed requirements. (John 5:44,41; 12:43;  1Thess.2:6; Matt.25:45-46; Gal.1:10)
They believe that they are the "Great Crowd" of Rev.7:9-17,
even though the Bible's definition according to the Bible's description of the traits this group possesses,
defines the Great Crowd, as the remnant (last) of the chosen priests.
(Rev.7:15;  2Chron.23:6)(Mark 13:14)

All descriptions within Revelation, are symbolic.
The meaning of "Great" is given to us,
at Matt.5:19 B.
It has nothing to do with 
conveying the size of this group,
which we are told, is inestimable. (Rev.7:9)

Supporting the Truth

I received some questions:
Someone is bringing out on a thread, the meaning of the word "Christian", which in Greek means anointed.  He is saying by using that term all are considered anointed that profess to be Christian.  I am thinking he may have a point.  This may be a term specifically for the true anointed but not for the non-anointed.
 What do you think?
 I also remember reading somewhere on your blog how to determine that the number 144,000 is literal.  As soon as I find it, that's my next convincing point with this person.
 The "daily sacrifice" - "constant feature" in Daniel 8:11 is a crazy hang up point for a lot out there for some reason.  My thought is a concern for a stream of true worship to the Almighty being replaced by false worship. Is this true?
 I have also lost my dear friend - After all the scriptures I sent and the reasoning, she says I have left Jehovah and his Organization, even after I stated many times I would never leave Jah or Jesus.   As I said before, she is not sighing or groaning over all the detestable thing going on in the Org.

You will run into many powerful demonic deceptions on forums. We are at war with those falsehoods, under which power and darkness, the whole world lies.

The word "Christian" of course, comes from the word "Christ" which does mean "anointed one".
This is why Jesus said "False Christs will arise and mislead many". He was speaking of those falsely claiming to be faithful anointed (F&DS). (Notice he did not say, "false Christians", but "Christs"/anointed ones)
The word Christian, means to be a disciple of Christ....a follower of the anointed/Christs, of which Jesus Christ is foremost and first (Rom.8:29; Heb.1:8,9). A disciple of Christ can be anointed, or can be not anointed. All can strive to be a follower of Christ, or, a "Christian".
You can be a Christ/anointed one, and yet leave off following Christ, which would mean that although you are a Christ, you are not a Christian.
You can be a Christian, and yet not be one of the Christs.
The "ian" at the end of the word Christ-ian, indicates one who is associated with a genuine "Christ" = Christian.
To illustrate, a Librar-"ian" is associated with a Library, but is not the library itself.

Regarding the number 144000. I have not yet definitively stated that it is only literal.
What I can tell you is that there is a required number of anointed priests (proven by the fact that the Jewish anointed of the first century ("little flock") were not considered enough to comprise the completed Temple priesthood (John 10:16; Acts 13:46; Eph.1:10;  1Pet.2:5; Eph.2:20-21,22).
On the other hand, we know that the book of Revelation was written in symbols (Rev.1:1 -check Greek). The number 144000 does have symbolic meaning. I will write more about that meaning in the future. It is based upon the numeral 12 (6+6), which also has great meaning (12X12=144).

It is also based upon 72 (36+36/ two "times") (Luke 10:1 NIV)...which is half 144 for a reason (72+72=144). This (72) is half the witnesses needed to make 2 witnesses for the establishing of Truth (John 8:17). All these numbers have symbolic meaning. Until Holy Spirit finishes teaching me these things, I suggest not preaching ahead of it's witness.

You can best serve the Truth by contributing to threads that already have articles written about the thread's subject...
such as the Great Crowd, 666, the Man of Lawlessness, Wild Beast, the Faithful Slave, etc.

Regarding Daniel 8:11----
The daily sacrifice/constant feature, is the offering given in the Temple by the chosen priests.

...and they dominate or remove the priesthood from the Temple (1Pet.2:5,9; Eze.44:6-7,8-9;  2Thess.2:4; Rev.11:2)...
that priesthood and it's sacrifices, stop. This is the same "5 month" period while the unsealed Holy Ones are "conquered"/held "captive", by the Wild Beast (see Rev.13:7,10; 9:4-5,10), previous to being set free to do their work. I suspect that Dan.8:11 overlaps with Rev.8:1.

Regarding your friend, It helps to remember what Jesus said, about the effect his truth would have on close associates...
Luke 12:51-52; Matt.10:34-35,36; Luke 17:34-35
Those who are saved through the Great Tribulation will be separated from those who are not saved, in order for those being saved to join the other eagles in the wilderness
(Luke 17:35,37; Rev.11:8; 12:14,6; 11:3).




I am very happy to hear about your son, and have hope and pray that this positive development will continue. If it does it is because of our heavenly Father's grace, and your son's heart condition. The Tribulation was prophesied to be so effective, that parents could not save their own children from it (Eze.14:14,20-21; Rev.6:7-8). If they are saved, it is because God is reading their own heart (Hab.2:4). It is important that in time, your son is given further understanding of how these present events and circumstances were prophesied, and are being fulfilled....not in the way we were taught to believe, but in the way God's Word foretold.

Thank you for your past offer to help others on forums, to consider many Truths.
I suggest that you choose to comment on threads that discuss subjects which are already covered by articles which you might refer others to, perhaps with a personal comment about what you learned, or a part that you appreciated.
You will find that there will be many negative responses, even by the sort who have no faith in God whatsoever.
Jesus himself did not answer every senseless question and retort (John 8:25; Mark 14:61; Matt.12:19; 26:63). We are out there working for the searching humble ones (John 21:15), and we can choose to respond to only these (Matt.7:6).
