Horses and their Riders

 QUESTION RECEIVED:
"What is the meaning of horses and riders in the Bible?"

MY REPLY:
We know that the harlot rides the beast, right? 
Rev.17:3,7
We know that her riding it, means that she uses it and controls it to her advantage, as other uses of this symbol, indicate.
Deut.33:26; <Jude 1:14 Psalm 68:4; Heb.12:1
Jer.6:23; Zech.12:4; Rev.17:7
Jesus chose good symbols for his parables, so it helps if we think about the relationship between a real horse and the one who rides it.... especially if we are going into battle.

If we go into battle on foot, we must contend with the enemy by hand-to-hand combat, one foe at a time. It is a grueling struggle, and the most we can hope for in battle without a horse, is a small and personal, almost insignificant victory as regards the overall war.

Horses become an extension of their rider. Horses afford their rider an advantage that facilitates their speed, power, and movement. 


Speed, power, and strategic maneuvering, all exist in spiritual warfare (2Cor.10:3; 6:7;  2Tim.2:3). 
But to understand such a spiritual symbol, we need to think spiritually (1Cor.2:13-14; Rom.8:5). 

For example, consider a doctrine that promotes a religious organization as being directed by the spirit of God. 
That teaching, (like a horse), carries those who are representatives of that organization (which bear the image of divine authority and power) forward, so that they can conquer and gain control over, those whose minds are overcome, by use of that doctrine (horse). 
Another example would be the assertion that the leaders of a religious organization, are genuine saints. Scriptures such as those to follow, could be exploited and twisted to their own advantage: 
Luke 12:42; Heb.13:17; John 13:20; Jer.26:5; Acts 3:23. 
By means of such a teaching, such leaders are enabled to gain access into the mind of their followers, and win over their faith and subjection. They 'ride' and steer their teachings, to advance and forward their own position and dominion, over us. 
A horse represents a power greater then our individual self if battling alone... which affords us an advantage during spiritual battle.

Jesus rides a WHITE horse. White, stands for righteousness and JUSTICE (Rev.19:11,8; Matt.12:20). 
That is the basis for Christ's advantage over evil, and his ability to successfully battle with evil... like a literal horse would give us an advantage 
(Heb.10:12; Matt.28:18; Rev.5:12,9; John 1:9,5; 16:33;  1John 5:4-5; Rev.17:14; 19:14,8).

An example the Bible gives of horses and riders, is at Rev.6:2-3,4-5,6-7,8. There we see 4 different horses and riders, but also, we are given characteristics about both, which helps us.
The horses are white, black, red, and pale green.
If white stands for justice, righteousness, and goodness... BLACK would be sin, injustice, and evil. 
Dark and light, are opposites 
(Gen.1:4; Ps.18:28; Ecc.2:13; Isa.5:20; Lam.3:2; Luke 11:34,36; John 3:19; 8:12)
(Rom.13:12;  1Thess.5:5)
RED is the color of sin and murderous rage (Isa.1:18; Rev.17:3-4,6; 18:24). 

PALE GREEN is in my mind, blind, spiritual ignorance. 
I'll explain. 
Green grass is one of the symbols for the healthy spiritual food coming from God 
(Gen.1:30; Ps.100:3; 95:7; 23:1-2; Mark 6:39; Rev.9:4; 8:7)
(Rev.22:16;  2Pet.1:19;  2Sam.23:4; Deut.32:2; 11:15; Mal.4:2).
  When grass has lost the light of the sun, it loses its vitality, and turns pale green.
Sunlight, is a symbol for the spiritual light of truth coming through Jesus Christ 
(John 1:4; Matt.17:2;  2Pet.1:19; Mal.4:2; Rev.22:16; Isa.60:1-2).
Bible prophecy describes a time when sunlight is lost... 
(Joel 2:1-2; Matt.24:29; Rev.9:2-3; Isa.5:30; Amos 5:18) 

A pale green horse, is a power of ignorance/lies/confusion, resulting from a loss of light from Christ. 
Eph.5:23; Col.2:19;  1Tim.4:1; Luke 11:35;  2Cor.13:5. 
That falsehood rides forth... which means it is successfully misleading people, by means of doctrine that aids the 'rider', to conquer those who previously had faith in, and love for, Truth, but lose it (1Tim.4:1; Rev.13:7;  2Cor.11:3-4,12-13,14-15) (2Tim.3:14; Rev.2:25,4)
(2Thess.2:9-10; Rev.13:7,10; Col.2:8; Dan.8:12; Matt.24:4-5,24-25; Rev.13:11,8).
We receive confirmation about the meaning of this pale green horse, when we see what follows that horse and rider. We are told that Hades follows close behind (Rev.6:8). Hades is the spiritual realm of those who are in spiritual darkness (Eph.4:18). That is the result when the power of darkness is successful.

Rev.6:2-3,4-5,6-7,8 also adds the riders of each of those horses. The riders help us to understand those who are getting an advantage, by using their 'horses' in spiritual battle.
Jesus battles with the power of 'WHITE'... his righteous justice.
Those who hate Christ's brothers, declare spiritual warfare and seek to kill the faithful (RED) 
(John 13:34;  1John 3:12; Rev.12:17; 20:7-9; Luke 21:20,24; Rev.13:10; 16:13-16; 13:11,15; 11:3,7; John 16:2; Mark 8:35; Rom.6:5).
The BLACK horse of sin/evil, enslaves people, by being peddlers of what appears to be the truth... salesmen of a counterfeit gospel... wanting money and souls in exchange for offering an illusion of salvation (2Cor.11:4,13-15;  2Thess.2:1-3; Rev.13:11). Such teachers exchange darkness for light (Luke 11:34-35; Eph.4:18;  2Thess.2:9-10). That religious system/world, disobeys Jesus and God, who offer a reliable hope of eternal life, for free 
(Isa.55:1-2; Matt.10:8;  2Cor.2:17; 11:7; Rev.22:17) (John 2:16; Rev.6:6; 13:17).

The last PALE green horse has a rider named Death, ...and Hades is following close behind (Rev.6:8).
Death is the last enemy of Jesus Christ (1Cor.15:26). 
The power of Death, upon which the power Death rides (powerful spiritual horse), 
is spiritual ignorance and deception... teachings that mislead people away from the light of life (John 1:4)...
(Eph.4:18; Matt.13:15,13;  2Thess.2:10;  2Tim.4:3) (1Tim.4:1; Rev.16:13-14; 13:11; 19:20)
...and enslave them under the power of the dark abyss/Hades (Isa.28:15) (Greek,"Hades"="Sheol" in Hebrew). 
Hades is following that rider Death (Rev.6:8), in order to collect, gather up and harvest, all those being spiritually mislead and spiritually slain, by Death. 
Hades is the realm of those in darkness. That is where those who are losing the Light of Life, are being incarcerated (Col.2:8; Luke 21:24; Dan.11:33; Rev.13:10,7).
Only through the blood of Christ and the salvation of God, is one set free from spiritual darkness 
(Col.1:13; John 8:32; Gal.4:26; Matt.16:18; Zech.9:11; Isa.43:11-12,17)

When are the Enemies of Jesus, Subdued Beneath his Feet? [] Four Watchmen

Questions received:
1. Can you please add more understanding to 1 Corinthians 15:25?
There it says that Jesus reigns until all his enemies are subject to him. Yet you teach that his 'thousand year' kingdom has already ended. Yet we see that all his enemies are not yet made powerless, removed, and gone.
2. When are all Jesus' enemies conquered and made subject to him?
3. What caused Jesus' thousand year kingdom to end?
4. Why would anyone want to let Satan out of the Abyss? 
5. Who was responsible for that, and why?

My reply:
Well, we've got lots of ground to cover. :)
I'll respond to each of your questions, by number.
1.)
To begin, it may help to consider a detail of the verse that follows 1Cor.15:25, and that is, 1Cor.15:26.
You may note that all the initial enemies of Jesus, are lumped together in verse 25. But in verse 26, the conquering of "Death" is mentioned separately, and as occurring after the previous enemies.

That fact is consistent with the depiction of the enemies of Jesus, contained in the book of Revelation. 
At Rev.6:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, we see the 4 living creatures. They are the 4 anointed watchmen of the night 
[Isa.21:6,8,9,10,11,12 (<Dan.8:13,14); Rev.2:28; Eze.3:16,17; 33:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9; Isa.62:6; Rev.4:6-8; Isa.62:6; Mark 13:34 NIV ; Luke 21:36]. 
These watchmen are special prophets (Hosea 9:8; Matt.11:7,9,10; 17:10,12,13,11)
(Mal.4:5; Luke 1:17; Mal.3:1,2,3; Dan.8:14; Eze.14:4,5,21,22; Rev.6:7,8; Luke 19:41,42,43,44; 21:20,21,22,23,24; Matt.24:42,29; Joel 2:31; Amos 5:18; Rom.13:12; Rev.2:28,29).
Their assignment is to remain awake spiritually, and sound a warning when God's nation is threatened by an encroaching enemy.
My reason for explaining the 4 watchmen/living creatures, is that at Rev.6:7-8 we see there depicted, that last enemy, Death (1Cor.15:26) 
and we see that it arises in the time of the 4th and last Watchman.
The previous enemies (as stated at 1Cor.15:25) arise previous to the time of the 4th Watchman.
You may also note that in the time of Death's attack; there are simultaneously, all 4 plagues released against God's nation... Sword, famine, plague, and wild beasts (Rev.6:8). God allows the release of this curse, due to His nation's gross unfaithfulness, 
just as noted in Eze.14:21,5 cited above. 
That greatest time of trouble and adversity, is the Great Tribulation. It occurs during the era of the 4th watchman, when Death yet needs to be conquered.

Now to get back to a further opening of 1Cor.15:25;
we may assume that this verse is asserting that Jesus' reign must be continual, in order for all his enemies to be subdued. It is more accurately understood as saying, that in order for all enemies to be subjugated... he must be reigning. Is there a difference? 
Yes.
Please be patient while I use an illustration to portray this truth.
A carpenter is working on a project and is using electric power tools. That project consists of 4 major tasks. We may assume that in order for his job to be finished, he works non-stop with no interruptions. But now imagine that after he completes three of the tasks, he loses electric power due to an outage. During that outage, he cannot make progress, because his tools are not working. During that interim, he is not functioning as a carpenter.
When power is restored; he resumes his work through his power tools, and completes the last of the 4 tasks. He must be working, if he wishes to finish the entire project.
Similarly,
When 1Cor.15:25 states that Jesus must be reigning in order to subdue his enemies, that does not necessarily infer that there is no interruption in his reign, between his subduing his enemies previous to Death, and his subduing the last enemy, Death (1Cor.15:26).

I do hope that at this point, you can see that there is no contradiction between 1Cor.15:25 and this blog's teaching, which asserts that the symbolic thousand year reign of Christ, ends before the conquering of the last enemy Death.

So to respond to your first two questions;
Jesus must be reigning over his living anointed slaves... 
       (through which he battles as they conquer the world as individuals -Ps.110:1,2; Rev.17:14; Eph.2:6; Rev.19:14;  2Cor.10:3-5)
...in order to make progress against his enemies. That corresponds to a carpenter needing his tools to be working, in order to finish his project.
Prophecy indicates that just as with an electric outage that disrupts the usefulness of a carpenter's tools and stops his progress;
Jesus' reign over his anointed temple priesthood, is interrupted 
(Dan.8:11,12; 7:25; 9:26,27; 11:31; Mark 13:14; Luke 21:20,24). 
Satan's victory over the anointed remnant (when he is released from the abyss), marks the end of Jesus' 'thousand year' reign over his living Body members (Rev.20:7)... interrupting the progress of subjugating his enemies, through them. That occurs during the Great Tribulation and trampling of the anointed remnant, by the Gentiles. 
It is also the period when the Gentile anti-Christ/man of lawlessness, is enthroned above God's Temple (2Thess.2:3-4; Mark 13:14) (1Cor.3:16; Eph.2:20,21,22;  1Pet. 2:5), which ends the daily sacrifices of that Temple priesthood, in their service to Christ. That is an interruption of Christ's reign over his living congregation, and ends his uninterrupted 1,000 year reign.
The last enemy Death is not conquered, until the remnant seed (also mentioned separately -Rev.12:17;  1Cor.15:23-24) of the woman covenant, conquers that last enemy to be unleashed by Satan. (Rev.20:7-8,10,14). The attack by the last enemy Death, is unleashed after Satan is liberated from the chains of the abyss. That last enemy Death is conquered, during Armageddon.

"Upon Satan's release, he goes off to wage war with the remnant of the woman's seed (Rev.20:7,8; 12:17).

Through an alliance with a fallen star/false prophet (Rev.8:10,11; 9:1,2,3; 13:11; 19:20); 
Satan is released, and brings with himself a flood of his agents of deception, both spirit and human 
(Eph.2:2;  2Tim.3:13;  2Cor.4:4;  2Cor.11:13,14,15; Matt.24:24,25;  1Tim.4:1)... who successfully alienate the saints, from Christ... 
resulting in the remnant of the saints, being taken captive to deception and death 
(Hosea 4:6a; John 17:3; 6:63; Eph.2:12; 4:18; Col.2:19; John 15:16).
(Rev.12:15; Col.2:8; Rev.13:10; Dan.11:33; Luke 21:24,20; Rev.20:9a).

Satan employs the dark powers of his abyss/Hades, and through his alliance with "Wormwood", releases the agents of the Abyss, upon the remnant... resulting in the captivity and spiritual death of the remnant.

When the Chosen elect then alive, become enslaved to Satan... Is Jesus still their ruling king? 
Is Jesus still the Head over his Body and Temple? 
No. 
At the time that God's Temple is overcome and trampled by the Gentile "man of lawlessness" (2Thess.2:3,4; Dan.11:36,37,38,39)... the "abomination of desolation"... the "disgusting thing, standing where it does not belong" (Mark 13:14;  1Cor.3:16,17), Satan becomes ruler over the remnant. The "thousand year" kingdom of Jesus Christ over his living saints, ends.

The period of time that we are presently in, encompasses the Great Tribulation and Armageddon. 
This is the period which the Bible refers to as Satan's "short period of time" (Mark 13:20; Rev.12:12; 20:3; Matt.24:22,32,33; Luke 21:28). 
Satan's victory over the anointed during the Great Tribulation, ends during Armageddon. The Great Tribulation and Armageddon are the interim between the end of the symbolic Thousand Year kingdom of Christ, and the start of God's eternal Kingdom.

QUESTION 2. When are all Jesus' enemies conquered and made subject to him?

The messenger of the covenant mentioned above (the 4th living creature/4th watchman), turns the hearts of God's sons, back to God 
This causes the restoration and function of God's spiritual temple and priesthood, when their being trampled, ends 
(Mal.3:1,2,3; Dan.7:25; 8:11,12,13,14; Rev.11:2,3).
Just as electrical service resumes for the carpenter's tools; the servants of Christ and members of Zion are once again found faithfully exposing the falsehoods that took them captive and made them subject to Death (Ps.110:2;  2Cor.10:4,5; Eph.6:11,12; 5:11; Mal.2:7; Rev.5:10)
(Rev.3:1,11; James 1:12; Luke 12:39; John 10:10; Heb.2:14; Rev.13:2,7,10; Col.2:8 NIV ). 
Christ is then again, reigning over his anointed congregation, and finishing the conquering of his enemies, including Death. As 1Cor.15:24,25,26,27,28 explains, the last of Christ's enemies are subdued by the remaining members of Zion...
       (Rev.12:11; 3:9;  1John 5:4; Rev.2:26,27; 3:21; Dan.7:25,21,22,26,27; Rev.15:2), 
...after which, Jesus gives their accomplishment over to God. The eternal reign of all the faithful in the kingdom of God, then commences.

QUESTION 3. What caused Jesus' thousand year kingdom to end?

Rev.20:7 states plainly, the reason why Jesus loses his authority, power and control over his temple priests. Satan's release brings with it, a sweeping power of deceptive darkness, which overtakes the remnant of anointed 
(Rev.9:1,2,3; Joel 2:1,2; Isa.59:10; Rev.8:12; Isa.60:2;  1Tim.4:1; Rev.16:13,14,15,16;  
1Kings 22:21,22,23; 
  Rev.13:7,10; Col.2:8 NIV ; Dan.8:12; Matt.24:5,24,25,22)
Satan's is then able to mislead the previously enlightened nations belonging to God (1Pet.2:9,10; Rev.20:3;  1John 5:19; Matt.16:18), 
during the Great Tribulation (Dan.8:11,12,24; Col.2:19; John 15:5,6).
 
QUESTION 4. Why would anyone want to let Satan out of the Abyss? 

The first thing to keep in mind is that Revelation is written in symbolism. Jesus has bound Satan in order to prevent his ability to mislead Christ's anointed priests 
(Mark 3:27; Rev.20:3; Luke 10:17,18,19;  1John 2:20). 

Neither the chains nor the abyss, are literal or physical.
If Satan is enabled to gain his power to deceive the anointed, that would be symbolically depicted as his release from that previous constraint.
To understand Why Satan is released, we must first understand How Satan is released.
In order for Satan to be able to mislead the saints, the saints must be apt to be guided and nurtured by an agent of Satanic and demonic deception. Such false prophets are a reality 
2Cor.11:3,4,5,12,13,14,15;  2Tim.3:13; Matt.24:24,25;  1Cor.10:21;  1Tim.4:1; Rev.2:20; 16:13,14; 19:20; 13:14,7,10; Col.2:8 NIV  

If a genuine steward appointed by Christ (Luke 12:42) becomes unfaithful, he will not be providing the proper food (fine fruit/the truth) at the proper time (when needed). Those eating from that leader's table, are not receiving the truth 
(Isa.28:7,8,15; 42:22; 49:24,25; Mark 3:27; Rev.20:2; Luke 10:19; Matt.16:18).
Why might such a steward, compromise to teach demonic lies, rather than the truths of Jesus?
Anointed ones have free will, and those still immature are not immune to being corrupted by worldly desire. 
They are warned to reject the enticements of Satan's world 
(Num.15:39;  1John 2:15-17; James 4:4; John 18:36).

Jesus said that the faithful would be required to walk the path he walked (1Pet.2:21;  1John2:6; Luke 22:28,29), 
   despite Satanic testing (Luke 22:31;  1Pet.5:8). 
The path of Jesus, started out with Satanic temptation (Luke 4:5,6; Matt.4:8,9,10). 
What did the Satanic test at Luke 4:5,6 consist of?
Satan offered Jesus worldly blessing and power, in exchange for subjection.
When the anointed follow in the footsteps of Jesus, they also are offered this enticement. 
The wicked steward, fails that test. 
He accepts the powers, riches, prominence, and authority offered by this world (Rev.18:3,7,11,12,13,14,15,16,17). But... they must also pay Satan's price. That one must become a servant of Satanic interests.... primary of which, is the enslavement of the saints who are under the guardianship of that wicked steward 
(Gal.4:1,2,3,8,9; Rom.6:16; Gal.1:10;  1Cor.7:23).

Even if such a pawn of Satan is unaware of his role in misleading God's elect; there will be times when that leader will knowingly compromise the truth, in favor of retaining his worldly position of prominence, authority, riches, and power (Mark 10:42,43,44,45;  1Pet.5:3;  2Cor.1:24). He will go so far as to "beat his fellow slaves" in order to prevent them from exposing the wicked slave's unfaithfulness (Luke 12:45; Isa.28:7,8).
We saw a clear example of this type of leadership, in the first century 
(John 11:47,48; 9:22; 8:13,23,37,40,43,47; Matt.23:2,4,5,6,7,25,28,30,31,32,34,35; Rev.18:24).

Such leaders turn away from God's protection and care, to garner the power of those outside God's spiritual nation (John 19:10,11,12,15; Jer.17:5). God considers this type of alliance, spiritual fornication (Eze.23:35; Isa.36:6) 

It is not as if the wicked steward is consciously aware that while teaching false doctrine to those in their charge, that they are releasing Satan's power to deceive. But when an anointed steward fails the test of worldly enticement and accepts the luxuries and power that only the world can afford them, there is a price to pay. Worldly position among false religious leaders, must be guarded and preserved in order to be retained. Misleading others always becomes necessary. By doing so, that compromising leader, unwittingly enters into a covenant with the Deceiver.
These precise events are depicted for us in prophecy, Bible history, and the book of Revelation...

Faithful anointed stewards/true prophets, are depicted as sources of light (John 5:35; Phil.2:15; Matt.5:15; Rev.1:20; Dan.12:3).
At Rev.8:10,11, we see one of them "fall" from that approved position (2Pet.3:17;  1Cor.10:12; Rev.2:5).
At Rev.9:1 we see what the king of the Abyss gives that fallen one, in exchange for that compromise Rev.9:11 NIV ; Isa.33:1 NIV 
It is a key, which represents the ability to open (or shut) a realm/authority/power (Isa.22:22).
The realm which the fallen star opens, is the abyss (Rev.9:2).
The deep, dark abyss represents Satan's power to deceive. 
Those who reside in that spiritual pit, are deceived and veiled from seeing God's light 
(2Cor.4:4; Isa.5:20; Luke 11:35;  1John 4:1;  2Cor.13:5; Matt.24:24,25). 

Every powerful lying sign and portent is made available to the fallen star/false prophet, Wormwood... along with her receiving the power of Satan's supportive beast, comprised of Gentiles (Rev.13:1,2,11,12,14,15; 16:13; 19:20; 17:3,15; 18:3,7,20,24; 19:2). In exchange, Wormwood opens the abyss, releasing Satan, which symbolizes his power to deceive the saints. That is symbolically depicted for us, as Satan's release from the abyss.

Hopefully you are able to perceive the answer to you question; "Why would anyone want to let Satan out of the abyss?". 
When a genuine anointed steward of Jesus Christ is willing to compromise truth in order to garner and maintain worldly power, that one unwittingly enters a covenant with Satan, and fails the temptation of Luke 4:5,6. It is not that they consciously want to release Satan's power to deceive those under their care. That is simply the consequence of their unfaithfulness.

As explained, 
a genuine anointed steward who compromises the truth of Christ in order to preserve their worldly power, 
is responsible for unleashing the power of Satanic deception onto those who follow that prophet.

Body of Christ -- Rachel

INTRODUCTION:
It was prophesied for the time of the end, that the living stones/royal priests of God's Temple (1Pet.2:5; Rev.5:9-10), would be conquered, trampled, and scattered...
(Rev.13:7,10; Luke21:6,24; Rev.11:2; Dan.8:10-12,19; 7:25; 11:31-33,36-37; 2Thess.2:4)
...because of their losing the strength of their covenant of salt (Matt.5:13)(2Chron.13:5; Ecc.10:5,7).
As a result, the remnant of living stones are scattered (Dan.9:7; Luke21:24).

Prophecy also tells us, that the sanctuary will be set right again (Dan.8:14; Mal.3:1-4,6; Matt.17:11) and the scattered, collected back together again (Mark 13:27; John17:21; 11:52; Eph.1:10; 4:13).
Readers may have taken note, that this eventuality I describe is the basic mission statement, written at the top of this Blog. That foretold gathering of the elect and royal priests of God, is underway. The temple of living stones is being "brought back to it's right condition", and again undertaking to render their sacred service (Mal.3:4; Heb.13:15; Matt.7:20; John15:16).
These faithful members of the Body of Christ (1Cor.12:27,18), receive holy spirit from their Head (Eph.4:15; 5:23; John15:4-5; Rom.11:17; Eph.5:29-30; John6:63; 17:8; 8:51). That spirit supplies unity, wisdom, and love under their one head (Eph.4:3; John17:23; Col.3:14; Eph.1:10; 4:13).

Dear friends, 

I know you feel the same as I do about just the mere mention of the word “apostate”…a strong feeling of revulsion wells up.  That is a good thing!  Who wouldn’t fear rebelling against the Most High.  We are incredibly thankful that through preservation of God’s word the Bible, we can clearly identify an apostate.  Since we are unable to meet in person at the moment due to safety precautions, I am writing you, and perhaps in your personal study, you, too, researched this subject of apostasy.  Did you realize that an apostasy was prophetically foretold to occur?  You may have, but it is still shocking to read about it in the scriptures. 

The Hebrew and Greek scriptures give us a complete blueprint for identifying apostasy.  In the Greek scriptures, “apostasia,” translated “apostasy” (2 Thess.2:3) means a rebellion, a falling away, a defection from truth – “Jesus said to him [Thomas]: “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one come to the Father except through me.”  Apostasy, a defection from truth, is a departing from Jesus, rebelling against his instruction, and not imitating his example (1 Tim.6:3; 1 Tim.1:3; 2 Tim.4:4; 1 Cor.11:3; Luke 21:8; Rom.16:17; Matt.7:15; Heb.3:12; 1 John 2:6; 2 Thess.2:3).  The scriptures recorded the history God’s chosen ancient nation of Israel’s actions, both good and wayward, “examples…written for our admonition” (1 Cor.10:6-11; Heb.3:5; 9:1,6,9; 10:1,11,3,5-8).  In the Hebrew scriptures, we find God’s people, his nation of Israel, repeatedly became rebellious.  A Hebrew word was used for their disobedience: “meshubah,” defined, “apostasy,” “turning back/away,” “backsliding,” “waywardness,” and “unfaithful” (Prov.1:32; Jer.3:6,8,11,12,22; 5:6; 8:5; 14:7; Hos.11:7).  Time and again we read scriptural accounts of Israel’s unfaithfulness/apostasy due to their “abominations,” which described various kinds of wickedness they were warned against and described as “detestable things/images” and “disgusting thing/idols/god/practices” (Deut.12:31; 18:9-12; 20:18; 1 Kings 14:24; 2 Kings 16:3; 21:2; 23:24; 2 Chron.28:3; Jer.4:1; 16:18; 32:34; Ezek.5:11; 7:20; 11:18).  Ancient Israel was God’s “treasured possession,” a “holy people,” and where He dwelled, but their abominable idolatrous practices were considered adultery/prostitution/“acts of harlotry,” and resulted in God describing them as a “prostitute”/“harlot” (Deut.7:6; 26:18; 14:2; Exod.34:14-16; Num.35:34; Jer.2:11,20; 5:7; 13:27; 16:18; Hos.3:1; 4:15; 9:1; Psalm 106:39; Isa.1:21; Ezek.16:15,22,25,34,36).  Did you ever take note of the pattern of ancient Israel’s priesthood?  The priesthood were the only consecrated persons to permitted to carry out “daily sacrifices,” or offerings in God’s tabernacle and Temple…all others/”foreigners uncircumcised”/Gentiles/non-consecrated persons were forbidden from duties in the Temple, at the penalty of death (Jer.33:18; Deut.17:14,15; Lev.3:16; 17:5,6; 2 Chron.23:6,7; 1 Chron.9:33; Exod.29:38-40,42-44; Ex.40:15-16; Num.18:7; 28:6; Lev.6:9-12; Ezek.44:9).  Despite being repeatedly told that that no one “except the priests and Levites” were permitted to serve in the Temple, the Israelites even departed from that divine command and appointed uncircumcised foreigners to “keep charge” of God’s sanctuary (Ezek.44:6-8,10,12,15; 20:30,31; Num.18:7). 

We recall that “all the things that were written beforehand were written to instruct us” (Rom.15:4).  What a constellation of apostate acts have been recorded and described in the scriptures!  Both the Hebrew and Greek scriptures come together perfectly to present a complete picture that perfectly guides us on what apostate acts are, and how to identify apostasy, according to God and Jesus.  Let’s first start with the Hebrew scriptures, which describe God’s chosen people, the nation of Israel, and the divine commands regarding worship they were not to depart from: 

 <> God referred to the nation of Israel as “My people,” “a holy nation,” “holy people,” and His “dwelling place” (Deut.7:6; 26:19; 28:9; Exod.19:6; 22:31; 25:8; Lev.21:15; 2 Chron.7:14; 1 Kings 8:16; Isa.51:4; Ezek.21:12; 37:27). 
 <> God established a covenant with His people whom He chose, and gave them divine commandments and instruction for building the Temple and sanctuary (Deut.14:2; Gen.17:4; Exod.25:8,9; Exod.19:5; 24:8; Deut.4:13; see Exod.24-26). 
 <> Temple duties were limited to a consecrated priesthood, anointed to carry out the daily sacrifices/offerings/sacred service (Exod.29:1,9,29,44; Lev.6:9-12; Num.18:7; Jer.33:18; 1 Chron.9:33; 23:24; 2 Chron.23:6,7; 26:16-18; 13:10,11; 35:3; Neh.12:44-47; 13:10,11; Ezek.44:6-8). 
 <> Uncircumcised foreigners/Gentiles were forbidden from sacred service duties in God’s Temple and forbidden to be appointed as king over Israel (Deut.17:14,15; 2 Chron.23:6; Ezek.44:6-9; Lam.1:10; 5:2). 
 <> God’s holy people were commanded not to imitate the customs of worship of the surrounding nations, and their abominable idolatrous and detestable practices (Deut.12:30; 18:9; 20:18; 2 Kings 9:9, 17:7-15). 
 <> Warnings against idolatry included setting up physical idols and setting up “idols in their heart” (Deut.4:16,23; Exod.20:1-5; 23:13; 34:17; Lev.19:4; 26:1; Ezek.44:12; 14:1-5). 
 <> Israel had a choice:  Obey God’s commandments, be blessed and looked upon with favor, or do not obey God’s commandments and lose blessings and favor, and bear the consequences of their sin/unfaithfulness (Deut.7:12; 11:13-17; 28:1,15; Lev.26:3-13,14-39; 1 Chron.9:1; 2 Chron.7:19-22; Hosea 10:15; 11:7; Ezek.15:8; 39:23,26; 44:10-12; Josh.22:20; Dan.9:7).   
 <> Israel’s record reveals they often became wayward/apostate/unfaithful, and their rebellious acts likened to adultery, prostitution, and the “sin of divination” (1 Sam.15:23; Lev.17:7; Jer.3:6,8; Zeph.1:3-5; Hosea 6:7; 9:1; Ezra 9:1,2; Josh.7:1; 1 Chron.5:25; 2 Chron.28:22; 29:6; 30:7; Ezek.20:27). 
 <> Israel’s acts of unfaithfulness included “detestable practices of the nations,” idolatry/trusting in idols, and breaking the divine commands of who may perform sacred service in the Temple (2 Kings 17:7-11,15,41; 9:22; 21:21; Exod.32:4,8; Judges 18:31; 2 Chron.26:16-18; 36:14; Jer.48:7; Isa.44:17; Ezek.23:49; Hosea 4:12; 10:5,13; Psalm 52:7; 135:15-18). 
 <> Detestable and idolatrous acts were likened to sexual immorality; God described His people’s “acts of harlotry” and adultery as sexual immorality and called them a “prostitute”/”harlot.” (Isa.1:21; Lev.17:7; Jer. 2:17,19-22; 3:6-9; 9:2; Isa.1:21; Ezekiel 16:1,2,14-17,20-26,32,33,35,36; Micah 1:7; Hosea 4:12; 9:1). 
 <> When Israel was unfaithful, God “kept warning them by means of his messengers, warning them again and again, because he felt compassion for his people and for his dwelling place,” and good news that a repentant remnant of Israel, at times, only a few refugees, would be saved (2 Kings 17:12,13; 2 Chron.36:14,15; Isa.1:9;19,27,28; 10:20-22; 28:5; 41:8,9,27; Jer.23:3; 44:14; Ezra 9:8; Nahum 1:14,15; Micah 2:12; Hos.1:10; Joel 2:32). 
 
The apostles drew attention to the first covenant Temple arrangement as it foreshadowed, illustrated, and served as a pattern for the spiritual Temple arrangement under the new covenant established by Jesus’ sacrificial death (1 Cor.10:6,7,11; Heb.7:19; 8:5; 9:1,8-10; 10:1; Col.2:17; Rom.4:18,22-25).   

 <> All anointed “have an anointing from the Holy Spirit” by God, and become part of “Christ’s body.”  Christ’s body is “not of one member but of many” with each part given different gifts according to the Holy Spirit given them from God (Matt.16:18; 2 Cor.1:21; Col.2:9; 1 John 2:20; Heb.12:23; Acts 1:4; Rom.8:15,28; 12:4,5; 1 Cor.2:11-13; 10:17; 12:12-18,27-29; 14:33; John 2:19,21; Mark 14:58; Jude 1:13; Rev.1:5,2). 
 <> All anointed are “living stones,” a “spiritual house” in which “the whole building,” “God’s household,” is built together into “a holy Temple.” Christ is the “foundation cornerstone,” a “chief cornerstone,” and “Son over God’s house,” in which “there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved” (1 Pet.2:4,5; Heb.3:6; Acts 4:11,12; 1 Tim.3:15; Eph.2:19-22; Matt.21:42; Isa.28:16; 1 Pet 2:4,5,9,10; 1 John 2:27 John 14:26).  
 <> All anointed are “God’s Temple” and “dwelling place.”  Ancient Israel and their Temple worship served as a “copy and shadow of heavenly things.  When the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus’ disciples, they grasped that the physical city of Jerusalem was no longer God’s Temple for worship, and expressed that as “living stones,” they are God’s Temple and dwelling place and that He dwells in them.  Yes, the early Christians had fellowship and congregated in homes, and the apostle Paul drove the point home to them that God does not dwell in man-made Temples.  Jesus, as high priest, and “mediator of a better covenant,” is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God, and is a minister of God’s sanctuary and true tabernacle erected not by man, but by God (1 Cor.3:16,17; Matt.12:6; Acts 7:48,49; 17:24; Heb.8:1-6; Heb.9:11,24; Heb.10:19-21; John 4:21-24; Isa.66:1; 2 Cor.5:1). 
 <> All anointed are a “holy priesthood” with Jesus as “high priest.”  Jesus “has become surety of a better covenant,” making obsolete the old covenant with his death.  Jesus has a “permanent priesthood,” those who God considers to be “My people,” just was ancient Israel, but now ordaining a spiritual priesthood for acts of divine service, a sacred service without the limitations of physical burnt offerings, but “spiritual sacrifices” (Heb.3:1; Heb.7:22,24,26-28; Heb.8:1,9,10; Heb.9:1,6-10; Heb.10:5-10; Rom.12:1; 1 Pet.2:5,9). 
 <> All anointed, Christ’s body, are Jesus’ “congregation.”  Jesus Christ is the “firstborn” and “the Ruler of the kings of the earth” -  Jesus is not the ruler of the world, but he is the “head” and the ruler over his “body,” his “congregation” of all anointed (John 12:31; 14:30; 1 Cor.2:12; 12:12-18,27-29; Rev.1:5,6; 2:11; 5:10; 3:21; 12:9; 20:4,6).   
 <> All anointed are taught directly by the Spirit.  Spirit teaches all anointed, and together, as a “holy priesthood,” they must carry out their priestly duties by offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.  These “sacrifices” are not literal burnt offerings as was carried out by ancient Israel’s priesthood who served in God’s Temple.  All anointed, as God’s Temple, are to offer themselves as a “living sacrifice,” and through a perpetual “sacrifice of praise,” which is a bearing of “much fruit,” “the fruit of the lips”; sharing with others what the Spirit has taught them (John 14:26; Heb.13:15,16; Psalm 119:108; Rom.12:1; 1 John 2:20,27; 1 Cor.1:21; 2:10; 12:7,11-13; Matt.7:17; 13:23; Mark 4:20; 1John 2:27; John14:16; 15:4,5,16,18,26; 12:24; 16:3,7,13; Acts 2:33; Jer.33:18; Rev.22:3-5). 
 <> All anointed are ”branches” that must remain attached to the “vine”/Jesus.  All anointed must remain faithful to Christ’s teachings, lest they stray, become unfaithful, and be “cut off” from the vine/Jesus, discarded/”thrown into the fire.” Yes, it is possible for anointed to stop following Jesus, become apostate, and lose their “light.”  Without “light” in darkness and become false teachers, producing “fruit”/teachings that “rot”/expire and are thus, lies (Heb.3:12-15; 4:7,11; 6:4-6,18; John 3:19; 8:12; 15:5-7,16; 2 Cor.2:11; 4:6; 11:13,14; Rom.11:17-22; Acts 26:18,23; Matt.22:14; 7:15-23; 15:8,9; Mark 13:22; 1 John 2:11; John 8:44; Num.23:19). 
 
We now have the keys, the scriptures, to identify an apostate!  Carefully examine the example of ancient Israel, God’s people, and take note of the divine laws regarding the Temple/tabernacle arrangement….THIS is a pattern and foreshadow of God’s spiritual Temple (Eph.2:14-16; 1 Cor.10:6,7,11; Rom.4:23; Num.18:1,5-7; 2 Chron.23:5,6,18,19; Heb.8:5; 10:1; Col.2:17).  According to scripture, here is what we know: 

 <> Jesus’ faithful death fulfilled the old covenant, making it obsolete, and established a new covenant, one where God’s Temple is made up of spirit-anointed persons that include Gentiles, who are spiritual Jews, a “holy priesthood”/Jesus’ congregation. All anointed are God’s Temple, “living stones” that build His “house” (1 Pet.2:5; 1 Cor.3:10; 12:27,28; Rom.12:4-8; Eph.2:19-22; Rom.2:25-29; Col.2:11; 3:11,12,15; Phil.3:3; 1 Cor.7:19; Gal.5:6).  
 
 <> Jesus foretold that “many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people” (Matt.24:10,11; 1Tim.4:1).  Deception is an attempt to lead you in the wrong way, away from true teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “watch out for false prophets” (Matt.7:15-20), “Watch out that no one deceives you” (Mark 13:5).   

 <> Will it be easy to identify a false prophet?  No, it will not. Jesus warns that false prophets will deceive by appearing sheep-like and be successful because they will actually be well-perceived and praised by many people (Luke 6:26; 1 Cor.2:14; 2 Cor.11:13-15; 1 John 4:1; Heb.5:14; Matt.7:15; 24:11,25; 22:14; Rom.12:2; John 7:24; 1 Tim.4:1; 1 Thess.5:21).   

 <> Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with striking observableness” (Luke 17:20).  However, a “natural person” is enticed by the “senses,” and unable to “hear” and “see” because of not using spiritual discernment (1 Cor.2:14; Matt.13:13,14; 16:1-4; 12:39; 23:27,28; Mark 8:11,12; Luke 12:54-56; 2 Pet.2:18; Rom.8:5-8; 11:8; 1 John 4:1; 2 Thess.2:2; Jer.5:21).  Such persons will be easily deceived by false prophets who were foretold by Jesus to perform “great signs and wonders,” observable acts done to elicit a reaction of awe from onlookers, and to deceive, “if possible, even the elect,” spiritual Jews/anointed (Mark 13:22; Matt.24:24,22,31; John 4:48).   

 <> Jesus said we would recognize false prophets by their “fruit.”  What fruit?  Jesus’ truthful unchanging teachings; he is the “fruit of the light,” “the light of the world” and reflects God’s light, God’s truth (John 3:19,21; 8:12; 12:46; 14:6; 17:17; Eph.5:9; 1 John 1:5-7; 2:8; 2 Cor.4:6; Luke 11:36; Psalm 27:1).   

 <> The teachings, the “fruit,” we ingest from those we trust to be faithful anointed taught by Holy Spirit, does that “fruit” rot away and expire over time?  If so, we are ingesting “fruit” from a false prophet, an anointed that has departed from Jesus’ teachings.  Do not be deceived, God and Jesus will not vacillate or flip-flop in truth, nor provide teachings relayed with the “Spirit of truth” that only later expire, for as we know, “It is impossible for God to lie” or to “change His mind” (Heb.6:18; Titus 1:2; James 1:17; Num.23:19; John 14:17,26; 15:26; 1 John 4:6; Psalm 25:5).  Truth that “rots” is a lie, a hallmark of Satan who “masquerades as an angel of light,” and is the father of the lie (Matt.7:15-23; 12:33;15:8; Luke 6:43,44; 2 Cor.2:11; 11:13,14; John 8:44; Heb.6:18).   

 <> Jesus’ apostles too warned of individuals who are among God’s household, His Temple, who would lead in teaching others, yet would become unfaithful/apostate.  “The inspired word clearly says that in later time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired statements and teachings of demons” (1 Tim.4:1; 2 Tim.4:3,4; Acts 20:29,30; 2 Cor.11:3,13-15; 6:16; Eph.2:21,22; 1 John 4:1; Col.2:8; 1 Tim.4:1).  The apostles did not exclude their own teachings from being thoroughly tested against scripture, and reminded the early Christians to “test all things,” a reminder preserved for us today in which no one is excluded from (1 Thess.5:21; 1 John 4:1). 
 
What Temple of God was the apostle Paul speaking about?  Ancient Israel?  No.  Remember, the scriptures tell us that those anointed by Spirit are “living stones,” they are God’s Temple.  (1 Pet.2:5; 1 Cor.3:16,17).  Is it feasible to think the Father departed, apostatized from His own truthful words, breaking His covenant with His people and directing His son Jesus to select a religious group among all the religions on the globe as a representation of the Most High?  That instead of all anointed being God’s Temple, anointed leaders are to imitate surrounding physical religious organizations common today, perhaps imitating televangelists, or churches, in the sense of man-made buildings/structures.  Did Jesus depart from his own teaching that anointed, who are the parts of his “body” and taught directly by Spirit, are now, not to receive direction from him, their “head,” and that he now, diverts his authority over his own “congregation”/”body” to not-anointed elders/overseers/physical Gentiles to teach and judge them? (Ezek.20:32; 2 Cor.6:16; 1 Cor.6:15,19,20; 12:12,13,27,28; 1 John 2:27; John 14:16,26; 15:26; 16:7,13; 1 Thess.1:9; Eph.1:23; 5:5; Isa.42:8; Lev.19:4; 26:1; 1 John 5:21; Rom.1:21-23; Gal.1:6-9; Deut.12:29-32; Lev.20:22,23; Jer.10:2-4; 1 Cor.2:14; Deut.7:26; Matt.24:15; Mark 13:14). 
We are warned that an “apostasy comes first” before “God’s day.”  “Let no one lead you astray in any way, because it [God’s day, vs.2] will not come until the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. He stands in opposition and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits down in the Temple of God, publicly showing himself to be a god” (2 Thess.2:3,4).   

This very thing was prophesied to occur, is happening now, and has been revealed in Revelation.  What anointed leaders have departed from Christ’s teachings and have become adulterous, a “prostitute,” by their idolatrous acts, lauding and claiming a physical religious organization, an idol, is “God’s earthly organization”?  “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Should I, then, take the members of the Christ away and join them to a prostitute? By no means!” (1 Cor.6:15).  This “wild beast,” Watchtower, is led by a “false prophet” who has “breathed life,” a spirit of divine authority into its “image,” not-anointed elders/overseers (Rev.13:1-18).  The only spirit this “image” has been given is out of the mouth of the “false prophet,” a deceiving spirit that originates from Satan and blasphemes God, “slandering his name and his dwelling place,” His holy people…inciting God’s wrath (Rev.13:4,7-10; Rom.2:5-8; Rev.14:9-11; 1 Pet.2:9; Heb.13:14; Col.3:12; Eph.2:6-10,12,19-22; Phil.3:3; Rom.2:28,29; 1 John 4:6; John12:44; 8:44; Jude 1:4; Deut.7:26; 29:17; Jer.16:18; Isa.62:12; Ezek.5:11; 11:21; 16:36; 20:7,8; Ezra 9:1,2; Rom.2:17-24; Acts 17:24; Acts 7:48-53; Titus 1:2).  Do you dare to confront the leaders of Watchtower or their elder/overseer representatives who speak for them about their false teachings, or openly disagree with them?  If so, will you be left “unharmed” (avoid shunning, disfellowshipping)?  “Who is like the wild beast [Watchtower], and who can do battle with it?” (Rev.13:4). “And it [the false prophet] was permitted to give breath [appearance of divine spirit and authority] to the image of the wild beast [not anointed elders/overseers], so that the image of the wild beast should both speak and cause to be killed (symbolic for disfellowshipping and shunning) all those who refuse to worship the image of the wild beast” (Rev.13:15).
 
Can you now, using scripture, spiritually discern the apostasy that has occurred and the man of lawlessness/Gentiles/not-anointed that have taken a seat in God’s Temple and are trampling God’s spiritual Temple?  (2 Thess.2:1-4; Exod.20:3; 1 Cor.3:16,17; 6:2; Mark 13:1,2,14; Luke 21:20-24,28; 17:20,21; Matt.24:12,15,16; Rom.12:1; Dan.11:31; Rev.11:1,2; 13:7; 17:15; 21:27; John 18:36; Matt.24:4; Ezek.5:11; Deut.7:26; 2 Kings 17:41).  God’s spiritual Temple, Jesus, the head of this “congregation,” is being surrounded, hemmed in and trampled by not anointed/physical Gentiles (Luke 21:24; Rev.11:2; 12:17; 19:20; Dan.8:13; Heb.10:29; Acts 3:17-20; Jer.12:10; 17:5; 32:36-44; Isa.1:4-9; Rom.9:31-33; 6:16,20-22).  Do you discern the abomination?  It is time to flee! (Matt.24:15; Mark 13:14; Luke 21:21; Dan9:27).  “But a physical man does not accept the things of the spirit of God, they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know them, because they are examined spiritually” (1 Cor.2:14).
 
God is right 100% of the time…all His prophecies come true (Dan.8:13; 1 Thess.5:20,21; 1 Cor.14:32; Deut.18:18,19; Jer.12:10; 17:5; 32:36-44; Heb.10:29; Hos.12:10; Amos 3:7; 2 Chron.20:20; 24:19; Isa.1:4-9; 8:20; 30:10; Matt.5:11,12; Rom.12:6,7; Eph.4:11-13; 1 John 4:1).  God always warns His people when they become wayward, sending messengers to warn them, and with good news...a remnant will repent, and return to their “head,” Jesus, worshiping God in truth and spirit (Rev.22:12-16,18,19; 21:22-27; Eph.4:15; 5:23; Col.2:10; John 4:23,24; 16:13; Rev.3:12; 12:17; 19:20; Acts 3:17-20; Jer.4:1; Isa. 10:20-23; Ezek.11:18; 2 Kings 19:30,31; Rom.6:16; 9:27). Who do you believe and have more faith in…Christ’s teachings, or the Watchtower’s? (John 5:22-24: Luke 10:16; 1 John 2:23; Isa.29:13; Mark 7:6; Matt.15:8; Eph.2:8,9; Titus 1:16).  

“Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues” (Rev.18:4).

 A question I received. (I have added scriptural citations to the question.):
Pearl am I right in thinking that a house built on a rock mass is .... 
The rock mass is chief corner stone/Jesus (Matt.21:42-45; Eph.2:20; 1Cor.3:11; Isa.28:16) and foundation stones/apostles (Eph.2:20-21; 1Cor.3:10-11; Rev.21:14) and the house is the temple of God/anointed priests (1Pet.2:5,9; 1Cor.3:16,9-10; Heb.3:6)?
And the floods that came to wash it away or to make it topple is like in Revelation 12:15 the water from Satan's mouth trying to drown or overtake the woman? (Rev.12:15; 13:1,6-7; 9:2-3) And the house built on sand is the governing body? Sand is from the dead sea creatures from the sea just like the beast comes from the sea. So Satan is the "corner stone" and the sand is possibly the elders and the Governing body is the house or visa versa?

My Reply:
I do hope that the scriptures I cited in the first paragraph of your question, suffice to affirm the understanding you expressed. Who builds up God's household, during any particular era? As we see at 1Cor.3:10,12-14;  there are many builders. Eph.4:11-12,16 explain who they are. What they build up, is simultaneously... God's house/Temple, and the Body of Christ, because those two are one and the same (John2:21; 1Cor.12:27; 1Pet.2:5). 
Each one builds the quality of that Temple, in two ways. 
First, by the quality of themselves, which they contribute as one of the Temple's living stones (Gal.6:4)
(2Cor.7:1; 2Pet.3:14; Eph.4:22-25; 1Pet.5:10; Phil.1:6; John13:34-35; Rom.13:10; 1John4:18; Col.3:14; Eph.4:16; 1John4:8; Matt.5:46).
The second way in which each living stone contributes to the quality of the Temple, is by how well they discharge their divine assignment 
(1Cor.12:11-12,14,18,20,25,27-28; Eph.4:7,15-16,25). That includes how well they handle their ministry of preaching the gospel 
(Ps.134:1; Eph.2:10; Isa.42:21; 1Pet.2:9; 1:12; 2Tim.2:15; Mark 16:20; Rom.1:16; Luke24:47; Acts 8:4; 1:8; 10:42; Rom.10:14-15; 1Cor.9:16; 1Thess.2:9; Gal.1:11; Titus 1:3; Matt.28:18-20).

 There is another factor to consider, in the structure of God's Temple and Body of Christ. It is the appointment by Christ of a household steward (Luke12:42). The Body of Christ, contains a part, that is symbolized by an eye (1Cor.12:16,21-22). They are also symbolized as lamps/torches/stars (Matt.6:22) due to their spiritual perception and acuity, as being compared to light (2Cor.4:6; Acts 26:18; Eph.1:18; 2Pet.1:19-21). That light, is sourced in Christ (Ps.36:9; John12:35-36; 8:12; 1:4-5,9,14; Matt.4:16; Rev.5:6; 4:5; 1:20; Matt.5:14-15).
This part of the Body is given spiritual perception and foreknowledge. It is the position of prophet. They are messengers (Greek:'angels') of God's spirit of prophecy, sent to each of their congregations (1Cor.14:32; Rev.1:20). Such a one is ordered to 'keep watch' and to keep their 'lamp'/eye, burning brightly (Mark 13:34; Luke 12:35-36,39,41-42,43-44) as they feed the household/congregation/lampstand, over which they have been appointed.
To bring us back to the household built upon the cornerstone, Jesus Christ;
It would be up to that appointed steward/'lamp', to feed the household/Body in their charge, according to the light of Christ (Matt.6:22; Luke 11:36; Matt.5:15; Rev.1:20), so that his household is built on a sure and firm foundation, the Cornerstone. In this, we have the example of John the Baptist (John1:6-8; 5:35). If faithful in this way, that wise Steward would foster a household that can withstand the onslaught of Satanic "winds", "downpours", "lashings" and "floods" (Matt.7:24-25; 24:45).

If you are the household Steward, appointed by Jesus to feed his disciples (Luke12:42), then yes, you must build up that household (Eph.4:12) on the right foundation (Jesus and the apostles -Eph.2:20-22; 1Cor.3:11). 

 What if we are not the Steward, but we are a disciple? 2Cor.5:4 speaks of another house. It is the physical life we have now. In this present life, we are building our faith in Christ. We can still apply Jesus' words, when we are building our "house" of Faith. We must anchor our beliefs on the cornerstone... and not the ever-changing and shifting sands of human doctrine. We can be helped to do this, if we attach ourselves to the True vine and it's branches 
(Zech.8:23; Rom.2:28-29; Dan.12:3; Rev.1:20; Phil.2:15)
(John15:5,8; Col.1:6; Ps.107:37; John4:35,39-42).

 There is a deeper image to the description Jesus gave us, as to a house built on a foundation of sand. Sand is the boundary between the sea and the earth. The reason why the sand is always shifting, is because it is ever lashed by the crashing waves of the restless sea. The powerless sand surrenders, ever molding itself to the powerful currents of the waters.
This symbolism can open our perception, by means of the scriptures.

 The Bible compares the sea, to those under the direct influence of Satan (Isa.57:20; 27:1; Eph.2:2; 2Cor.4:4; 1John5:19; Luke4:5-6). Those who are of God's "earth", but are immature and weak, are like the sand (Eph.4:14; 2Cor.11:3). They themselves are not on the set course laid out by Christ, but like sand picked up and tossed by the sea, they become one with the waters (Jude 1:4,8,10-13,15-16,17-19; James 1:6-8). If we put our trust such religious men of falsehood and subscribe to their teaching, we rest our house of faith on the shifting sand.

Those who take care to build on rock, even though that rock is near to the sea... that house will not be vulnerable to the changing tides and storms.

 The flood that comes 
(and the "winds of teachings"/"breath/spirits of demons" that blow>> Rev.16:13-16; 1Tim.4:1; Eph.4:14)... are from Satan (Rev.12:15; Matt.24:38-39; Luke 17:26). 
But it can also be perceived, that the flood from Satan's mouth, is what we see again depicted in another pictorial parable, at Rev.9:1-3.  When the locust-scorpions, "flood" out of that abyss... Satan's lies are disgorged through that army. Each one of them carries with them, Satan's spirit/breath/deceptive waters. The outpouring of that army from the abyss, is a parallel to Satan's flood from his mouth.
Satan's lies, overflow from his heart. Satan's heart can be a parallel to the abyss of dark deception. From the heart's abundance, the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45).

 This symbolism is not new. 
The symbolic waters of life, are also depicted as a river (Rev.22:1). Jesus carried that water within his heart (John4:10) and it can be imparted to others who accept the waters of truth (John7:38; Luke 6:45). In the same way; Those who accept into themselves, Satan's Wormwood waters from the agents of his abyss, will be poisoned. 
Just as Jesus breathes on his anointed (who are one spirit with him -1Cor.6:17) and sends them forth with the truth (John20:21-22)... Satan's spirit operates in the sons of disobedience/man of lawlessness (Eph.2:2; Rev.16:13; 13:11,15), and they are launched forth with demonic deception, out from the abyss.

What is the primary purpose to this great Satanic maneuver?
"15 Then from his mouth the snake spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and carry her away with the torrent. 17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring – those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus."
Clearly, Satan's destructive deceptions are trying to drown the mother of life, Jerusalem above (Gal.4:26).

These are the last remnant of her offspring, who obey God and preach the truth (Rev.20:7-9; 16:13-16; 17:14; 2Cor.6:7; 10:3-5; Rev.12:7,10-11). How do her remaining children, conquer the Devil and his lies? They hold to their testimony to the Truths of Jesus, even in the face of death

We have briefly discussed the steward appointed by Christ, to feed their congregation (Luke12:42). What we have not yet mentioned, is that such appointees, may not necessarily prove faithful (Luke 12:45-46; Matt.24:48-49,50-51). Such a foolish steward/false prophet, would build up his household on the temporary sand 
(Jer.22:13; Hab.2:12; Rev.17:18,6; 18:24; Matt.23:33-35,36-38).
The Steward is not the house itself, but is the steward over the house. The wicked steward would be dispensing unsuitable provisions as spiritual food and water to those in his charge 
(Rev.8:10-11; 9:1; Isa.5:20-21,22-23; Matt.24:49; Luke 12:45; Micah 2:11; Isa.28:7; Jer.5:31) 
(Matt.7:15-17,18-20). As a result, it's members will not be enabled to keeps standing, in the Day of the Lord (Rev.6:16-17).

Just as God has a Temple, and His laws are written within the hearts of His living stones (1Cor.3:16; Deut.11:18); Satan has a synagogue (Rev.2:9; 3:9) and his demonic deceptions are written within the hearts of those deceived (Rev.12:9; 13:16-17).
Satan would be the cornerstone of his synagogue. His foundation stones, would be his false prophets/seven heads of the Gentile powers (Rev.17:9-10), and seven harlot daughters, who serve the mother covenant of death (Rev.17:5; Isa.28:15). The stones would be the locust-scorpion Gentiles (stones) that comprise the Wild Sea Beast (house). That collective Beast is directed by it's 7 successive heads/false prophets/wicked stewards. 
The sand which this house is built upon (Rev.13:1 NASB), are those who are inclined to be Christians, but are weak and ignorant, and do not really love the truth. They are weak-willed and easily swayed, tempted, dominated, exploited, influenced, and deceived. Their devotion is transient and conditional, and their support does not last, whether they be the leaders or their followers. This is why such a foundation, will cause that house, to collapse.

Just as Jesus also uses a vine to depict himself and those who receive his spirit, belong to, and serve him (John15:4-5) within his household; God depicts Satan's dissemination of his deceiving spirit as well (Deut.32:31-33; Rev.14:17-18,19-20). 
Those who consume the fruit from the vine of Christ, gain eternal life. Those who consume the fruit from the vine of Satan and his Impostor branches (false prophets), will reap destruction (Matt.24:4-5,24-25; Gal.6:7; Hosea 10:13) if they do not awaken and repent 
(Eze.33:11; 18:30-32; Rev.2:5,16,21,22; 3:3,19; 16:9,11; Rev.18:4; 2Cor.6:17-18; Matt.24:15-16).
"Unless the Lord builds the house,
    the builders labour in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
