Learning the Day and Hour

Mark13:28-32 reads;
"28 ‘Now learn this lesson from the fig-tree: as soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29 Even so, when you see these things happening, YOU KNOW THAT IT IS NEAR, right at the door. 30 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.32 ‘But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

How are we to align this seeming conflict... no one knowing, and yet knowing that it is near?
Jesus spoke those words about not knowing, in the first century.

The book of Revelation covers, describes, and reports and elaborates upon, two different time periods (Rev.1:19; 4:1).
Those two periods are
1. "now": the time of the apostle John.
2. "later": the time of the end.
How can we be confident that "later" refers to the time of the end?
Because that is the era in which the scroll is opened and comes to be understood
(Rev.5:1,5; 20:12; Dan.12:2-4,9-10,13; Rev.10:2,7; 22:10,6-7,12).
As we have seen in the foregoing scriptures; the time of the end brings with it, the opening of information that was previously sealed up,
as well as the fulfillment of those previously undisclosed prophecies.
That information will be given to the conquering faithful (Dan.12:10; Rev.2:17,7,28).

It IS possible to learn something we previously did not know. It is possible for information to be opened, which was previously, sealed. That includes information that was previously only known to the Father (John5:20).

In Revelation, chapter 5 (Dan.7:13; Rev.5:1,7), Jesus is depicted as approaching God and receiving a scroll of information. Rev.5:5 tells us that the Lamb is the one who opens that scroll.
Jesus does not remain ignorant of the Day and Hour.
If we go to Rev.1:1, we learn the whole purpose why Jesus gave us the book of Revelation...
"The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him *to show his servants what must soon take place.
*He made it known by sending his angel* to his servant John".
At Rev.22:10 we read; "10 Then he told me, ‘Do NOT seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, *because the time is near."*

When the "time" of the end approaches; God lets Jesus know.
Jesus then lets his messenger angel know, and that angel is sent to let Christ's congregations also know (John15:15; Rev.1:1; 22:16; John13:20).

Who is that angel/messenger?
Rev.22: "6 The angel said to me, ‘These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his "angel" (Greek:"messenger") to show his servants the things that must soon take place.’" (Amos 3:7; Rev.10:7)

Mal.3: "‘I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,’ says the Lord Almighty.  2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness".
