Times and Seasons

Acts 1:7 reads;
"Jesus said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority."

Jesus said; "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only." (Matt.24:36)
We see from this, that at the point at which Jesus said these things, no one but the Father possessed the knowledge of when the end would come (Acts 1:6-7). Regarding the time of the end, we are told at Dan.12:4,8-10 that there would be secrets of prophecy that would be sealed up *until the time of the end.
Rev.22:10 confirms that there is information that is due to open up in the time of the end, as that scroll's pictorial prophecies that describe the end, are fulfilled. When they are "about to take place", the secrets of the end are opened, so that the timing of them is no longer a secret (Rev.1:1). Jesus sends his messenger angel, a prophet, to tell those things (Rev.22:6) when they become known to him.
How does that messenger, know that it is the time of the end, and the time for Revelation to be fulfilled? How does that messenger know what to declare? How does that messenger know what the book of Revelation, means?
Rev.1:1 tells us, that it is Jesus who sends that messenger, to describe the events of the end "soon to take place". Obviously at that point, Jesus knows the time of the end.
How do we know, that the time arrives for the knowledge of times and seasons, only previously possessed by the Father, to be given to Jesus?
At John 17, Jesus said of the Father; 
"All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me."

John 16: 15 "All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you. 12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and **he will tell you what is yet to come**. 14 He will glorify me because **it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.**"

At John 16:15, Jesus tells us that what the Father possesses, is given to the son, and the son in turn, shares that Word, with his messenger/angel (John 15:15), who relays it to John, and the "seven congregations" (John 17:8; Rev.1:1,10-11).

“thrones were set in place,
    and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;
    the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,

Rev.5:
"1 Then I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne, a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. [Acts 1:7; John 16:12] 4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” 7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne."

Jesus receives knowledge from the Father after his death (Rev.5:9), and is given permission to open what was previously sealed. After Jesus gains that knowledge, he sends his messenger to relay it to his congregation (John 15:15; Rev.1:1; 22:16; Mal.3:1-2,3).

Rev.20: "11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, ***and books were opened*** [Dan.7:10]. Yes, knowledge of times and seasons rests with the Father. He shares it with his son, and his son, shares it with his faithful Body members by means of his messenger prophet... when it is the time to do so.... in the time of the end.

God's Messengers

A QUESTION:

Dear Pearl,
Do the angels give orders , instruct and pass information (re the interpretation of prophecies found in the Bible) on to the Faithful and discreet slave ?

Dear Johan,
There is so much deception rife in the end times in which we live, that nothing we thought we knew can be taken for granted as truth (1Cor. 3:18;  2Cor. 11:3; Col.2:8;  1Tim. 4:1; Matt.24:24,25;  2Thess. 2:4,9; Rev.12:9; 13:11; 20:12).
I say this, because the first part of your question asks about angels.

You may have been taught as I was...
that all angels are spirits that were born in heaven as spirits.
The Greek word for angel means messenger, and that word is also applied to those whom God has chosen to bear His messages. These can include those God has chosen to be His Temple priests.

Mal.2:7 reads
"For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the LORD Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth."

1Pet. 2:9 reads:
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
Rev.5:10 reads
"You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
    and they will reign on the earth.”

Hopefully you can see that according to the Bible, chosen priests anointed by God are given information to share with others (Matt.5:14,16). If one of these priests was chosen to be a prophet (1Cor. 7:7; 12:4,5,28; Eph.4:11) then that priest would also have a message for fellow priests, just as the apostles had information for their fellow anointed ones (Eph.2:20; 4:12; Rom.12:6;  1Pet. 4:10,11;  1Cor. 4:1; 3:10; Rev.1:20;  1Cor. 14:33).

The reason why it is so important to understand who the angelic messengers of God include;
is because this is in harmony with the rest of the Bible's facts, such as:

1Tim. 2:5
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus".
This does not point to another spirit being between Christ and man.
Between God and man, is only Christ.

As such, it is Christ who gives information directly to men of his choosing, as a high priest directly cares for his under-priests. 
It may also help to check other scriptures about how the anointed prophets receive information...

Jesus said;
"What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs." (Matt.10:27)

"Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud;...he said, “Listen to my words:
When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams." Num.12:5,6

When I was taken in vision, Christ himself spoke with me. There was no intermediary spirit person.
Rev.1:1 and Rev.22:8,9 may come to your mind. Let's look at them:

"The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John". (Rev.1:1)
This one whom Jesus "sends", is the same "angel" (Greek = "messenger" -Gal.4:14) of Zech.4:9 and Mal.3:1 (Isa.40:1,2,3; Rev.12:6,14; Isa.40:4,5,9,10; Matt.25:6), who appears when God's Temple (anointed priesthood) is finally completed by the "capstone". That prophet messenger(s) ["angel(s)"] is sent to prophesy in that time of the end, and will fulfill the roles of "Moses and Elijah" (Rev.11:3,4; Zech.4:14,9). The appearance of this "capstone" will initiate the "small beginnings" of the eternal Kingdom. This beginning sprouts from a condition of devastation (Zech.4:10,6; Hag.2:3; Rev.11:2; Dan.12:7; Rev.13:7; Matt.24:15; Luke 21:24; Matt.7:6; Dan.8:12;  1Cor. 3:16,17;  2Thess. 2:8; 1:7; Rev.1:1; Isa.40:5,2,3)"

"I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!” (Rev.22:8,9)


The Holy Spirit is what teaches the anointed slaves (1John 2:20,27; John 14:26).
Those given a message by means of that spirit, speak on it's knowledge and power directly, without another intermediary persona (John 16:12,13,14; Matt.10:20; Luke 12:12).

So then, who is this angel that is "showing" John Revelation's visions?

This messenger of prophecy, is one of the angels mentioned at Rev.1:20...
"The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches."

Can you see from this that the "seven" congregations of Christ (made of anointed priests), each have a "messenger"/"angel" that is a "star" of light to their congregation?

Who are these angel stars?
The Bible tells us...
"Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever."
"Those", are speaking of humans. 
These eternal "stars" are "light bearers" who have been given specific wisdom from God to prophesy to their congregations. These are the same identity as the "two witnesses" of Rev.11:3,4.
This symbolic "Moses and Elijah" role as prophet, is not the same as all God's nation of priests (1Pet. 2:10,9).
Not all priests are prophets (1Cor. 12:29).

To be certain that these stars are humans among other humans...
See Phil.2:15...
"so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life."
Dan.12:3,10
These who "hold firmly to the word of life" are doing the same thing as John's Revelation angel.
Remember what that "angel" said?...
"I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll.
When John received the visions of Revelation, he was transferred into the future "Lord's Day" (Rev.1:10). This means that he will learn the meaning of Revelation after his resurrection, from the prophets who are given that scroll's interpretation in "the time of the end" (Dan.12:4; Rev.22:10; 20:12; Amos 3:7; Rev.22:6) to give to the remnant in peril, during the Great Tribulation.
That event is what John described,
as he himself, as well as the angelic prophet, were within "the Lord's Day" and "the time of the end".

Spirit angels in heaven have no need to hold firmly to the word of life (or to "keep the words" of the scroll of Revelation) as delivered to the anointed by Christ through his prophets (Rev.11:3); 
nor do they need to "keep the words" of the book of Revelation, since they are not the ones portrayed in Revelation's dilemma and solution (Rev.22:19; 1:11,3). The "seven Congregations" are. 
Remember that the purpose of Revelation, is for Jesus to "show his anointed slaves/servants" what will happen (Rev.1:1)...not to show invisible spirit creatures, so that they will be warned, and obey.

Christ's slaves are the ones who need the "angels"/"stars" to enlighten their congregations, as to the spiritual perils Revelation unveils. These star-like messengers must pass on the light which "the spirit of the prophets" has given them (Rev.10:7; 11:3;  1Cor. 14:32), to those anointed who are not prophets, 
are in peril, 
and are still in the darkness of Satan's final great deception 
(1Tim. 4:1; Rev.13:7; 16:13,14,15;  2Thess. 2:9,4; Matt.24:15,4,5,24,25).

So when you ask if "angels" receive "orders" to instruct and pass information to God's anointed slaves...
that depends upon your definition of "angel".

If you believe what many have been deceived into believing...
that the conquering of Satan is done by angels who were never human (Rev.12:7), and that these take the lead in prophesying to the body of Christ (including the apostle John), then my reply would be "No.".
(Rev.12:7;  2Cor. 10:3,4,5; 6:7; Rev.11:5; Jer.5:14; 1:10; Rev.16:16; 19:11,14,8; 17:14; Gen.3:15; Rev.12:7)

If you believe that the angels in Revelation are anointed prophets here on earth, sent to show God's anointed slaves of Christ's body "what will soon take place";
then "Yes."...those chosen as prophets pass information (including the interpretation of prophecy) on to the rest of Christ's slaves...those who have not been chosen to be prophets 
(1Cor.12:29,21,14,7,8,9,10,11,4,5; Rev.1:1,20; 11:3; 10:7).

QUESTION: So after all I have read , you are in fact saying God is passing information /orders and instructs only the anointed who are to be kings and priest via his angels?

No Johan,
That is not what my reply explained.
My reply in summary, is that God is passing information to Jesus Christ, as He always has.
Jesus Christ in turn, by means of Holy Spirit, shares that information with his anointed priests, depending upon what their individual assignment is. (Rev.5:2,4,5,7; John 16:15; Rev.1:1).
As I explained previous, non-human angels have nothing to do with this. "Angel" translated, simply means "messenger". God and Christ's messengers are the anointed priests (Mal.2:7). Those priests are God's angels/messengers. 
Once born again of spirit (John 3:5,6; 1:13;  1Pet.1:23) they are spirit (Rom.8:9; Eph.2:6).

Christ feeds his own anointed slaves/priests (John 6:51; Luke 12:35,36,37; 17:8; Rev.3:20).
and his slaves/priests, feed his sheep (John 21:17).
The anointed prophets are also called angels (Rev.1:20; Heb.1:7; 12:22,23)
and the prophecies which speak of angel messengers, are speaking of sealed anointed,
who have become spirit 
(Rom.8:9,11; John 3:6; 5:24;  1Pet.1:22,23;  1John 3:14; Matt.22:30; John 8:51; Rev.20:6).
If you don't consider the scriptures fully,
you will not find the answer clearly.

Thanks for taking your time to  answer and are you aware that the Watchtower claims that God who is the sole interpreter of his sacred word and prophecies merely uses the Faithful & Discreet Slave to publish those interpretations using the angels to pass on the info after Jesus as His mouthpiece revealed it to the angles to pass on to the Faithful Slave/Remnant?

REPLY:

God IS the sole interpreter of His own Word (Gen.40:8; Dan.2:27,28; Job 33:15,16; Ps.25:14; Amos 3:7;  1Cor. 12:10,11).
If you wrote a letter; Who would be the best person to explain what you meant by it...
...someone who didn't know you? ...or you, yourself?
God's Spirit gives interpretation (1Cor. 2:10).
That spirit is sent out to the entirety of God's land/"earth"/"seven congregations", through the "seven stars"/"lamps"/"angels" (Rev.5:6; 3:1; 4:5; 1:20).

As you can see partially from the above scriptures (and the ones to follow); God does speak through His faithful slaves

As far as the WTS claiming that between Jesus Christ and his faithful slaves, there are unseen "angels" who relay his message...

you can deduce that such is clearly not the case. 

The truth is that God does speak through His chosen priests, (Mal.2:7; Matt.5:14;  1Pet. 2:9), (see scriptures *above).
What we each must discern is... which of these priestly prophets ARE the true and faithful ones,
and which are the false and unfaithful (Matt.24:45,24; 7:15,16,17,18,19,20; John 7:17,18; 8:47)

In their case (WTS)...this receiving information from unseen spirit beings other than Christ, may be so...
because scripture reveals that the UNfaithful slaves of Christ,
ARE  being spiritually fed by unseen messengers other than Christ (2Cor.11:3;  1Tim. 4:1; Rev.16:13,14).

Now I must tell you, that you are dragging behind in the current doctrines of the Watchtower.
When you say that the Watchtower teaches that angels "pass on to the Faithful slave/ Remnant" interpretations of scripture;
you reveal that you have not learned about their recent change in doctrine.
  The WTS no longer teaches that the "remnant" are the Faithful slave.
They teach that the governing body of today are alone and exclusively... the Faithful Slave.
Of greatest import here, is that no one should claim the stature of being the Faithful Slave (Luke 12:42; 17:10) because only Jesus Christ has the right to bestow that title (Rom.14:4;  2Pet.3:17 NIV ;  1Cor.10:12; Mal.3:2; Rev.2:5), when he returns and calls his servants into account 
(Matt.25:19,20,21;  2Cor.5:10;  John 12:48).

So in answer to your current question...
Yes, I am aware of what the current doctrine of the WTS is, regarding the avenue of knowledge from God to men...and now you are also.

Jesus declared that such vacillating doctrines of men make the Word of God "invalid", and convert any worship directed toward God, to be "in vain". (Mark 7:13,7) 
Although I am aware of the various and confusing doctrines from a variety of false prophets; I do not see the spiritual value of admitting to such knowledge, to myself or anyone else.

For this reason, I prefer to spend my time working to shed light on God's Words...and not man's (Rom.3:4; Psalm 36:9). Please use my services accordingly.

Learning the Day and Hour

Mark 13:28-32 reads;
"28 ‘Now learn this lesson from the fig-tree: as soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29 Even so, when you see these things happening, YOU KNOW THAT IT IS NEAR, right at the door. 30 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.32 ‘But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

How are we to align this seeming conflict... no one knowing, and yet knowing that it is near?
Jesus spoke those words about not knowing, in the first century.

The book of Revelation covers, describes, and reports and elaborates upon, two different time periods (Rev.1:19; 4:1). 
Those two periods are 
1. "now": the time of the apostle John. 
2. "later": the time of the end.
How can we be confident that "later" refers to the time of the end?
Because that is the era in which the scroll is opened and comes to be understood 
(Rev.5:1,5; 20:12; Dan.12:2-3,4,9-10,13; Rev.10:2,7; 22:10,6-7,12).
As we have seen in the foregoing scriptures; the time of the end brings with it, the opening of information that was previously sealed up, 
as well as the fulfillment of those previously undisclosed prophecies.
That information will be given to the conquering faithful (Dan.12:10; Rev.2:17,7,28).

It IS possible to learn something we previously did not know. It is possible for information to be opened, which was previously, sealed. That includes information that was previously only known to the Father (John 5:20).

In Revelation, chapter 5 (Dan.7:13; Rev.5:1,7), Jesus is depicted as approaching God and receiving a scroll of information. Rev.5:5 tells us that the Lamb is the one who opens that scroll. 
Jesus does not remain ignorant of the Day and Hour.
If we go to Rev.1:1, we learn the whole purpose why Jesus gave us the book of Revelation... 
"The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him *to show his servants what must soon take place.
*He made it known by sending his angel* to his servant John".
At Rev.22:10 we read; "10 Then he told me, ‘Do NOT seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, *because the time is near."*

When the "time" of the end approaches; God lets Jesus know. 
Jesus then lets his messenger angel know, and that angel is sent to let Christ's congregations also know (John 15:15; Rev.1:1; 22:16; John 13:20).


Who is that angel/messenger?
Rev.22: "6 The angel said to me, ‘These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his "angel" (Greek:"messenger") to show his servants the things that must soon take place.’" (Amos 3:7; Rev.10:7)

Mal.3: "‘I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,’ says the Lord Almighty.  2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness".

Does Hebrews ch.1 verse 5, disprove Jesus as being an Angel?

Comment received: 

I was convinced that Jesus could not be an angel, by Heb.1:5. 

My Response: 

When we in English, see the word "angel", we think of mighty spirit beings that were never human. But I learned that the original Greek word that was written, is "angelos". For some unknown reason, it is translated as "angel" but should not be.    Why?    Well, all the other Greek words of the New Testament, are translated into English, but "angelos" is not. The word is only Anglicized. The English translation of "angelos" is "messenger". If you look up the Greek word that the Bible used to describe John the Baptist (at Mark 1:2), it is "angelos". /// https://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/NTpdf/mar1.pdf  

Here is Mark 1:1-4: "The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, 2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: ‘I will send my messenger ("ANGELOS") ahead of you, who will prepare your way’ –3 ‘a voice of one calling in the wilderness, “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.”’4 And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness,preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins." 

It is unfortunate that when translating "angelos", translators use two different words... "messenger" (as they should), and "angel", which is not really a translation.... it is just a shortened Greek word. 

To illustrate...  The French word for "book", is "livre". If I am translating a letter from French to English, I should translate "livre", into "book".  If I only take off the "e" and translate "livre" into "livr"... Are English readers going to know that "livr" is a "book"? No. In fact, they may even construct their own idea about what a "livr", is. They have room to assume that this source of information is an encyclopedia or computer. Yet that is not the precise meaning of "book". 

That is what has happened with "angel". It is not a spirit being. It simply means, "messenger".  If we think about this fact; the removal of that constraint opens the possibility that the "angels" in Revelation are human. That also opens up the fact that Jesus Christ, who according to scripture was God's messenger to the world, could therefore also be an "angelos". Here is only one of many scriptures that prove that:  "For I have never spoken on My own initiative or authority, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment regarding what to say and what to speak." (John12:49) (John8:42; 1:14; Heb.1:2; 1Tim.2:5)  

What then, about your verse at Heb.1:5?  The context of Heb.1:1-9, explains the reason why Jesus Christ is special, in comparison to his many brothers who also become messengers of God (Matt.10:20,40; 2Cor.5:20; Jer.5:14; Rev.11:5).  He is the firstborn among them (Rom.8:29; 2Cor.3:18; 2Pet.1:4) and is the means by which his bride members, receive life (Eph.5:23,25; Rev.5:9-10; John1:4; John14:6; 5:40).  Jesus Christ is the only one to become God's direct Son (John3:16; Heb.1:5; John1:14).  Through Jesus, others also become sons of God (John1:12-13; Gal.3:26; 4:6; Ps.45:16; Isa.9:6), just as a grandson becomes a son of his grandfather, because there is no distinction in the Bible, between direct sons and subsequent generations (Luke 3:8).  

The uniqueness of Jesus as he compares to the rest of God's messengers, is explained in Heb.1:1-3,4-6,7-9,14. (Heb.2:16; Gal.3:29).  Each of those verses in Heb.1:1-9 is further explained, by additional scriptures, which help to clarify what is meant...

God's "Angels"

A QUESTION:

Pearl,
I was thinking about Heb.1:6, and "God's angels".
I know that Christ's angelic messengers are the anointed, after they become living spirits,
but am I correct in thinking that Christ's "angels" are not the same as God's angels,
and that God's angels are those who were never human?

My Reply:

We remember that Christ is the only mediator between God and Mankind (1Tim. 2:5). Any "messengers" (Greek: "angels") sent to mankind, must be in service to him (John 1:51; Gen.28:10-11,12-13,14,17; Eph.2:19). He always was God's mediator, and this is why he was called "The Word" (John 1:1). As God's primary spokesperson to all creation, [including to the original creation's angels (1Pet. 3:19,20)]; he IS the "archangel"..."arch" meaning primary (Eph.2:20; Rom.8:29), and "angel" meaning messenger/spokesman (John 12:49; Rev.20:1; Luke 8:31; Rev.1:18; Heb.2:14). "The Word" and "ArchAngel" are interchangeable titles, for God's only mediator and 'primary-messenger' ('arch-angel').

Along with God's physical creation (Gen.3:11,13,17,19; 6:5,6,11,12), 
God's original heavenly angelic persons were also brought down into corruption and death by means of Satan 
(Gen.6:2,4; Jude 1:6).
The original "heavens" were corrupted (Eph.6:12; 1:20,21;  1Cor. 15:24,25,27).
How many of that spiritual creation sided with Satan?**

     **The "Watchtower" teaches that one third of the angels fell into sin. This idea is derived
         from Rev.12:4. This is not correct, because those "stars" are not the demons.
        They are the Chosen Ones (Phil.2:15; Dan.12:3; Rev.1:20; 8:10,11; 9:1;  2Pet. 3:17; Rev.2:5).
        The symbolic "third" are those anointed "stars" whom God successfully disciplines in the time of the end

We are told that the "heavens" and "earth" belonging to the original creation, are passing away, due to their corruption (2Pet. 3:7).
These are to be totally replaced with a new heavens and earth (Rev.21:5;  2Pet. 3:13)... a totally New Creation. The new heavens will include new angels (divine "messengers") (Matt.22:29,30;  1Pet. 3:22; Eph.1:22; Heb.2:5,16,8,12; 12:22,23; Luke 10:20; Rev.1:20; 8:2,6; Josh.6:4; Mal.2:7)

From Mal.2:7, you may have noticed that the ancient priests were God's messengers. That priesthood was prophetically designed, according to a future priesthood of heaven (Heb.8:5,1,2; 9:11,24; 3:1,2; Mark 14:58;  1Cor. 3:16;  1Pet. 2:5,9; Eph.2:20,21,22,6).
Remember that the definition of the Greek "angel", IS "messenger".

So the priests, are God's messengers (Mal.2:7).
How does the old Covenant priesthood, compare to the new? 
Are the new priests, also God's messengers?

Now consider Rev.20:6...
"Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years."
Can you see that the New Covenant priests serve both God and Christ?
Remember from Rev.7:3, that God's slaves are so branded on their foreheads, symbolically (Deut.6:6,8; 11:18; Heb.10:16). This means that God's Words of Truth (John 17:17) are "written" in their hearts. From their hearts, they speak that truth (Luke 6:45,43; Rev.14:5; Matt.7:20; John 8:47; 7:16-18)

The 144000 priests of truth, slave as God's priests. This is symbolically designated by having one's forehead "marked" (Deut.11:18; Rev.7:3; 14:1).
What then of Christ's ("Michael's") angelic messengers? 
Are God's priests also in servitude to him?
Note that God's priests are also in servitude to Christ and the Holy City...
"The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. What is Christ's "new name"? What does it mean to serve the meaning of that new name?

Rev.1:6 and Rev.5:10 plainly stated that the priesthood (messengers) of the New covenant, serve God (1Pet. 2:5,9,10; Jer.31:33). How then, do they also serve Christ  / "Michael"?

We must remember here,
that Christ himself, as the "Word", was a witness/messenger/angel of God (Rev.1:5; 10:1; Matt.17:2; John 1:14; 18:37).
All he taught was from God (John 12:49; 7:16; 8:28; 17:8).
Therefore, it is not possible to be Christ's witness/messenger/priest/angel,
without being God's witness/messenger/priest/angel, also (John 13:20).

In summary,
God's original creation, both physical and spiritual, was corrupted.
God has purposed to bring about a re-creation 
(Matt.19:28; Rev.21:5; Gal.6:15;  2Cor. 5:17; Eph.2:10,15; 4:24; Col.3:10; Isa.65:17) 
in which righteousness dwells (2Pet. 3:3,4,5,6,7,10,11,12,13,14).

That re-creation includes new heavens / angelic spirits / divine messengers.

you may wish to consider how the 144000 will serve and worship Christ,

If we look at the entirety of Heb.1:6;
God's "angel" messengers (Mal.2:7) worship Christ (Heb.8:1; Dan.7:14 (Rev.5:9,10) (Isa.9:7; Dan.2:44; Rev.1:5; 5:10), "when God again brings his firstborn into the world". This helps to clarify who the angels are (Mark 14:62; Heb.12:1;  1Thess. 3:13; Matt.25:31). The "firstborn" sons, as a group, are the Holy Ones/Holy "angels"  (James 1:18; Rev.14:4; Heb.12:22,23; Luke 10:20;  1Tim. 3:15; 5:21) (Rev.5:11; Dan.7:10; Jude 1:14)
who will come "into the world" during God's Kingdom (Rev.21:2; John 1:51).

The Fallen Star

Good day Sister Doxsey,
Can you please comment on these two verses for me; 
Rev 8:10 and Rev 9:1. 
Why does the Society say that the star that had fallen is Jesus in Rev 9:1? 
Would you not say that the star in question is the very one that is mentioned in Rev 8:10? 

In Rev.1:20 we are told that the stars are the anointed Christians and in Rev.12:4 it is said that the dragon dragged a third of the stars to earth, is that not referring to the anointed? 

I am having difficulties in understanding the WT stand on these verses. In the Climax book it is said that the fallen stars in Rev.12:4 are those from Noah's day. Was not Revelation written about the things "about to take place" and not history? (Rev.1:1)

REV.9:1:
"The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star *that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss."

There are four reasons I know of, as to why the Organization of "Jehovah's Witnesses" believe that the "fallen star" of Rev.9:1 is Jesus Christ.
"Watchtower" reasoning:
1. Jesus is spoken of as coming "down out of heaven" (Rev.20:1)
    (Note: "coming down" is literally Greek:"katabainonta"="stepping down" Rev.20:1.
         "falling" is literally Greek:"epesen"="to stumble/trip and fall" Rev.8:10 - related to 2Pet. 1:10)
2. Jesus is said to have the key to the abyss (Rev.20:1; 1:18)
3. The "stars" of Revelation are compared to "angels" (Rev.1:20)
    so they may view this star as Michael the Archangel. (Rev.12:7; 22:16)
   (They also view Job 38:7 as applying to the original creation...
    not prophetically to the new creation, so they would consistently
    see these angels as spirits in literal heaven.
         (Note: Greek "angel", when translated, simply means, "messenger")
         (See:gods-angels) and (Who are the gods/theos?)
    "JW" doctrine has concluded, that "angel" is literal, and that all angels must be spirit beings
    of the sort which were never human [ Heb.1:7,14 (Ps.104:4); Heb.2:16; Gal.3:29 ].
   
4. JW's" can't imagine that their own collective anointed leader identity, with power over
    living spiritual waters ("springs" John 4:14; Rev.8:10), could ever "fall".
    As long as such ones retain power and remain in subjection to the Organization
    (which has replaced direct subjection to God -Rom.1:25);
    they believe that they need not be concerned with "falling" from God's grace.
    (Jer.22:5; Matt.7:21; 23:38; Amos 6:8; Rev.8:8) This is their false sense
    of "peace and security" (1Thess. 5:3).

I do not agree with these interpretations. I hope to show by means of scripture, why I have this faith.
These interpretations can only hold incontrovertibly true, IF :

1. No other star but Jesus "falls from heaven"
    (right away we know this is not true, due to Rev.8:10,11)
2. No one else has a key to the Abyss
3. Stars/angels can only be spirit beings (not human messengers)
4. Anointed are NOT prophesied to "fall" in the Lord's Day, while
    they have the approval of men.

And lastly, any interpretations must be by means of scripture, and harmonious with Biblical context.

If the Bible informs us that:
1. Other stars "fall" from heaven;
   then we must explore the possibility that these other stars can also
   fulfill the prophecy of Rev.9:1. This possibility must be explored scripturally.
2. If these same others can also have a key to the abyss, the possibility
   that these fulfill this role is strengthened. Again, this must be
   examined scripturally.

3. If "stars"/"angels" are anointed human messengers *according to the Bible*,
   then this possible impact upon prophecy must be considered.
   "Angel" simply means "messenger". We must not assume then,
    that God's only messengers/angels,
    are unseen (Isa.43:10,11,21;  1Pet. 2:9;  2Cor. 5:20; Mal.2:7) (Who are God's Witnesses?).
4. If anointed ARE the symbolic stars/angels,
    and a "great" one is prophesied to "fall"
    during Revelation's end-time prophecies, then we can not assume
    that the fallen stars MUST be demon angels from the flood era (Rev.12:4),
    OR Jesus Christ (Rev.20:1), OR Christendom (Rev.8:10,11)
         (which is not an anointed star at all -Rev.1:20).

And lastly, if the stars of Rev.8:10 and Rev.9:1 prove Biblically true as consistently meaning anointed ones (Rev.1:20); that singular, cohesive, consistent interpretation, must be explored as an option for these prophetic fulfillment.
If this new prophetic interpretation also proves harmonious, not only to Revelation's context, but also to the Bible as a whole; it must be preferred as a more accurate interpretation; rather than those interpretations taken out of Revelation's full context.

  First let me point out that while the WT dismisses the possibility that the fallen star of Rev.9:1 can be anyone but Jesus Christ, their interpretation is not consistent with their interpretation of the fallen stars of Rev.8:10 or Rev.12:4.
The fallen star of Rev.8:10 is interpreted as human (Christendom); Yet Rev.12:4 is interpreted as ancient demonic figures.
Such baseless inconsistencies should not be assumed as true. If scripture itself points to a different, yet consistent identity for these "stars"/"angels"; it is reasonable to allow this harmonious scriptural consistency to persuade us.
Further reason exists, if this consistent identity is harmonious to parallel accounts of the same prophecies.

   1.Are anointed ones symbolized by "stars"/"angels" in the Bible
      and book of Revelation?
   2.Are anointed ones prophesied to "fall" "in the Lord's day"?
   3.Who else holds a "key" to the abyss?
      Can unfaithful anointed ones receive a "key" to the abyss?
      If so, from whom? For what purpose?

If ONE identity (unfaithful anointed ones) consistently fulfills ALL the meanings and descriptions of this fallen star (Rev.8:10; 9:1; 12:4) *according to scripture*, then we MUST consider this alternate interpretation. It is folly to interpret the very same symbol, inconsistently and out of context, and as unrelated to the rest of the Bible. (IE: "FALLEN STAR" = Jesus Christ, Christendom, flood demons)
What if ALL these "fallen stars" point to the same identity, according to the Bible?

We should also note that Rev.8:10 speaks of this "great" fallen star as "blazing as a torch/lamp".

This reminds us of John 5:35,33 and
Rev.4:5; 5:6; which is the light given off by a chosen one who is preaching (Matt.5:15,16,14; Isa.62:1).
   
Next I will show scriptures which reveal who the angels "messengers" of the book of Revelation are. This will not be based upon assumptions which seem apparent and surface, but by means of scripture.

ANGELS:
A true Biblical description of a guardian angel, messenger angel ...
The first occurrence where Jesus introduces the "angel" messengers of Revelation, is at Rev.1:1,2:
"The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ."

We are clearly told that this angel messenger is the one who delivers the "known" meaning of Revelation TO John (Rev.22:8-9; Amos 3:7;  2Pet. 1:21). Why was not John given the full interpretation of Revelation directly in his own era (Rev.10:4)? Why did he need to have a messenger angel deliver it to him? Why was it shown to him "in the Lord's day"? (Rev.1:10)
Because, these things were not to be revealed until the Lord's Day (Dan.12:4; Rev.22:10). John "heard a voice "behind" him. This voice/"trumpet" (Rev.1:10; Isa.58:1) was to come after John's ministry. This voice is compared to "rushing waters" (see Rev.14:2; 19:6). These scriptures compare this sound to "harpists playing their harps" and "a great multitude" (Rev.19:1; 7:9,10). But when John turns to look; What does he see?
"I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands" (Rev.1:12)
 

Do these lampstands compare to the harpists, waters, trumpet, voice?
We are told that the seven lampstands are the seven churches/congregations of saints/"holy ones" (Rev.1:20;  1Cor. 14:33) belonging to the seven angels (foundation of temple/apostles and prophets -Eph.3:4,5; 2:20; Amos 3:7; Rev.10:7), two of which prophesy truth in the Lord's Day (Rev.11:4,3; John 8:17). These two olive trees of the two lampstands, are the ones appointed to serve the Lord (Rev.11:4; 1:13; Zech.4:11,12,13,14; Matt.17:3; Num.10:2) Serve him how? To serve as messengers/"angels"/prophets (Rev.11:3,5). To whom? To their congregations/lampstands. The "stars" of each congregation (Phil.2:15), are the lights/torch/flame/star, for each lampstand, which supports them and holds them high (Matt.5:15; Heb.6:10-11).
Rev.1:20 B literally says:
"The mystery of the seven stars (anointed illuminators) that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the messengers OF the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches."

Here we are given a clear correlation between the "stars" and the "angels"/messengers OF the seven churches/Congregations.
Jesus tells us that angels and stars are the same identity (as messengers of light Rev.1:20 for their congregational lightstand). Yet according to Rev.8:10, one of THESE "falls" (Rev.2:5;  2Pet. 1:10; 3:17;  2Cor. 11:3). The context of Rev.8:10 (Rev.8:8,9,10,11) dissuades us from seeing this star as an unseen spirit. This is because these stars are not unseen. They are just as Jesus depicts the stars...as messengers/prophets of light, to their congregations. They are the light/flame/star, upon the support of their lampstand/congregation. Without prophetic light, a congregational lampstand is as if, unlit. It has no light. The light/fire of anointed prophets and apostles, has it's origin, in Christ...THE morning star. He shares his light/flame, with his faithful messengers [Luke 3:16; Rev.2:18; (Matt.6:22); Rev.22:16; 2:26,27 (Hosea 6:5; Jer.23:29; Rev.11:5) Rev.2:28,29;  1Cor. 14:32; Jer.26:5,6;  2Pet. 1:19;  1Thess. 5:19,20].
Rev.1:20 begins by telling us that this is a mystery. Those given revelations/visions, into these mysteries (Num.12:6), and the responsibility to "voice" them (Isa.58:1), are the anointed apostles and prophet heralds (Zech.4:14; Rev.11:3,4;  1Cor. 4:1; Rom.16:25; Matt.25:6)
and the congregational group who receive, support, and are enlightened by, each of them (Matt.10:40,41,14;  1Thess. 2:13; Rev.22:16,19).

You have likely discerned that I am promoting the idea that the angel messengers in Revelation are anointed priests/prophets. Lets look at more Bible evidence.
We are told that these angels are given seven trumpets (Rev.8:6; Matt.25:7)
      (Greek word "trumpet" associated with "voice" -Isa.58:1; Rev.1:10; 4:1).
Who does the Bible define these seven trumpet blowers to be, since we must get our interpretation from God and His Word? (Gen.40:8)

 Hosea 8:1

Please consider these scriptures:

"Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams' horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. The seven priests carrying the seven trumpets went forward, marching before the ark of the LORD and blowing the trumpets. So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant of the Lord and have seven priests carry trumpets in front of it.” When Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets before the Lord went forward, blowing their trumpets, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant followed them. The armed men went ahead of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the trumpets kept sounding." Joshua 6:4,6,8,13
"The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come." Num.10:8

According to God's interpretation by scripture, the seven angels who blow the seven trumpets (horns), are priests (Joshua 6:4; Rev.8:6; 5:9,10; 6:9,10,11; 20:4,6; Mal.2:7; Eze.44:23; Hosea 8:1)
These are not unseen, unheard spirit beings. They are anointed priestly prophets who have been chosen to bear the message of Christ throughout the earth in the time of the end. (See Rev.5:6) (Matt.24:27; Heb.9:11; Zech.3:8,9; Isa.4:2; 11:1; Zech.6:12; Dan.9:25; Heb.3:1; Dan.8:13,14).

Making the way in front of them, the original Levite priests had "the armed guard". Following them was the "ark" and behind that was "the rear guard"....
"The armed guard marched ahead of the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard followed the ark. All this time the trumpets were sounding. When Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets before the Lord went forward, blowing their trumpets, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant followed them." (Joshua 6:9,8)
There is no such human entourage for the final prophets. Of them YHWH says;
"Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard." Isa.58:8

Unlike the final false prophets (Jer.17:5; Ps.146:3), The "glory of YHWH" alone will protect the path and accomplished work of the final anointed priests (Isa.59:1; 50:2; Num.11:23; Ps.89:21; 91:15; Psalm 18:1-50; Zech.13:9; Isa.65:24; Matt.6:8; Zech.4:6).
The faithful have no "elder" army (Rev.9:1-3; Joel 2:2; Matt.24:21; Eze.2:6; Luke 10:19),

...nor a so-called "spirit-directed" organization (Rev.13:15; 19:20), as the unfaithful do... (Rev.13:7,8,12,14,15,16,17).
The faithful anointed priests put their trust in God alone (Ps.37:5; Prov.28:26; 3:5,6; John 16:23; Isa.4:1,2,3,4; Jer.39:17; Isa.38:20; 30:19,26; 33:24; 41:17; 62:1; Jer.30:17; Ps.68:24; 116:2; 146:2)
Unlike the final false prophets (1Tim. 5:24; 4:1; Rev.16:13-15) the only thing going before the final faithful priest prophets, is their righteous acts (Rev.19:8; 3:4; 15:6; 19:14;  1Tim. 5:25; Ps.37:6; 85:13; Isa.62:2; 26:2; 58:8,9,10) due to God Himself (Isa.52:12; 58:11,14) and their endurance, in fine works (Isa.58:1,2; Micah 3:2; Isa.66:18; 45:22; 52:10,12; 56:8; Rev.2:2,29; James 1:4,18; 2:5,24; 5:11; Mark 13:13).

[That insight is by God's spirit (Rev.1:14; 5:6; Matt.10:20; John 16:13; 14:17;  1John 2:20,27,28)
given to the seven "angels"/priests/horns (Rev.1:4; 3:1; 4:5; Matt.5:15,16,14; Rev.5:6).

Next, we see in the first three chapters of Revelation, that Jesus disciplines the seven congregations/"lampstands", by directing a message to them, through each of the seven angels. When you look at the accusations that Jesus directs to these angels, do you perceive them as being human anointed "messengers" (Greek="angels"), or invisible spirits in heaven?
(Rev.2:1,2,3,4,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17, etc.)
Jesus calls these anointed ones, angels. According to Rev.1:20, they are, the stars.

Genuine lamps and stars (Rev.1:20) can fall (Rev.2:5;  2Pet. 3:17; Jude 1:13) causing their lamp-light to become darkness.
Regarding such fallen stars and dimming lamps (Matt.25:8), a scripture which comes to mind is Matt.6:22,23;
“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"

If our perceptions (eye) are bad (based upon false doctrine rather than Christ's words -Matt.15:9; 7:26,27; 25:9,10; Rev.13:17); our understandings and faith are darkness (John 3:20) and "the light that is in you is darkness" (Your teachings are sourced in Satan's abyss -James 3:15; Rev.16:13; 2:9,24) and "how great is that darkness"...yes...because Satan is a Master at blinding deception, and he will afford every false sign and powerful portent to such a fallen, unfaithful, Great Lamp of Darkness (John 8:44;  2Thess. 2:9; Rev.12:9; 8:10,11; 9:1,2,3,11; Matt.24:5,24; Rev.13:11; 12:17; 2:20,5; 18:23) and her helpers (2Thess. 2:4,9,10) in order to mislead the invited anointed. We must never replace the light of Christ (John 8:12;  1John 1:7; John 12:35) with slavery to men (Gal.1:10;  1Cor. 7:23; Rev.2:20; 13:15) and their dark doctrines....even if they are a genuine star/lamp (Rev.8:10,11; 9:1). We must "test out" the light in their lamp to see if it is genuinely from Christ's light (1John 4:1;  2Cor. 13:5;  1Tim. 4:1;  2Thess. 2:1,2,3).
If we are Chosen Ones who submit to such a dark steward,
then we too are fallen stars (2Cor. 11:3;  2Pet. 3:17; Rev.2:5). In fact, such mislead ones are the "third" of the stars that Satan's "tail"* (*the least of his minions -Deut.28:13) is able to cast down to the earth and cause to be trampled by them (Rev.12:4; 9:10,19; 11:2; 13:7).
Know this!......
This "third" of heaven's stars, are allowed to be cast down and trampled by Satan's power....not because they are sealed as wicked...but because God is allowing them to be disciplined and refined (Zech.13:9;  1Pet. 1:7; Rev.3:19,18; Mal.3:1,2,3; Isa.48:10; 54:6,7,8; Jer.30:18; Hosea 3:5)
Ironically...their being persecuted, trampled, "killed", and cast down and out of the wicked City, is so that they will survive (Isa.57:1; Micah 7:2; Ecc.9:12; Jer.30:7; Matt.13:47; Prov.6:5; Isa.52:2; Rev.18:4; Luke 21:20,21,22; Isa.10:22; Ps.71:20,21; Micah 7:8,9,10; Ps.66:10,11,12) (Eze.7:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8; Rev.14:19; 18:4).
Yet in order for this discipline to have a saving conclusion for this "third", they must, after being subjugated, stand up for truth despite the seeming threat to their lives. (Rev.3:2; Matt.25:7; Isa.60:1; Rev.12:10,11)

The fallen star of Rev.8:10,11 and Rev.9:1, is given the key to Satan's abyss of darkness and death, by it's king (Rev.9:11; John 10:10; Isa.33:1; Heb.2:14).

We are now in the period of time, when testing our faith is vital (1Tim. 4:1;  2Thess. 2:3-4; Rev.13:7). We are in a period of testing tribulation. If our house of faith is built on the sands of untruth, it will fall (Matt.7:26,27,24,25; Eph.4:14; James 1:6). In godly fear we beg our heavenly Father for protection through this test of our beliefs and faith, that we do not end in failure (Luke 22:31; Matt.6:13; Phil.2:12; Rev.6:17; Jer.30:7; Joel 2:1; Zeph.1:14; Luke 21:36; Rev.3:10; Eph.6:18), praying for all the remnant, that as many as possible can awaken, be cleansed and refined, be "killed"...proving their unwavering love for truth, and become sealed. The sooner that happens, the sooner the 144000 can be completed, and the end can arrive (Rev.6:9,10,11; 13:15; 11:7; 12:10,11)!
