The Cost of Life

Done Editing

A QUESTION:
Hello pearl.
I am 19 years old. I started studying the Bible with JWs last year. What's your advice to me coz the things you teach are too deep and hard for me to understand. Please give me a general advice about what you think about my choosing to become one of JWs.
Thank you.

My Reply:
Hello,
(To introduce my reply, here is a link to an article written in very simple terms: Divine Education
(Don't forget to read the scriptures as you come to them. That will help make the information easier to understand.)

What follows is a large "meal", which I hope will address your spiritual hunger. You can take your time with it. It should not prove too difficult. I am here for any questions that may arise.

It is wrong to merely tell people what I think they should do, without also providing the Bible's own reason.
Yet to understand the reason why I firmly believe you should not join the JW's, requires that you be willing to examine that evidence, and learn the Bible's reasons. In that way, you can make your own decision, as you should. Getting any knowledge, requires some work. I hope you are willing to work to understand the reasons behind my advice, which deserve our consideration.

When you say that what I teach is too deep, in reality, the truths of God, are deep (Rom.11:33).
We will not find them, unless we fear God enough to work at knowing him and his requirements (Prov.1:7; Heb.5:11).
Even if we are spiritual babes, we need to crave that knowledge (1Pet. 2:2). Eventually, we will also gain understanding of the deeper things (Heb.5:14).
Is God's truth too deep... too hard to understand?
Note what Jesus and the Bible, says about that....
(John 8:32; Matt.7:7-8; Prov.2:3-5; 8:17; Jer.29:13).
If we put forth the effort, despite that price, we will gain understanding and life (Prov.2:3-4; Matt.13:44-46; Col.2:2-4) God must favor those seeking the truth (Matt.13:10-11,13). We must pray for that favor (Prov.2:3; Job 32:8; Luke 11:13).

We can come to understand God's will for us, if we do not
"conform to the pattern of the 'world' "
(Rom.12:2). "JW's", belong to that "world", as does their pattern of teaching.
But to prove that fact to yourself, requires learning....
learning what the scriptures about the "world", are really talking about
(world-earth-home / symbolic death by world),
and what the Greek for "world", really means.
(The part of the Bible written by the apostles and Christ, was written in Greek (and a little Hebrew). To understand the meaning which the apostles intended, we need to know what the Greek words they used, meant).
The JW teachings, ignore what those words mean, and they interpret the Bible, according to their hidden desire to worship the Organization.

To give you what you ask for...
a "general advice about what you think about my choosing to become one of JWs"...
then I will tell you that you must not join themnor accept their idolatrous baptism vows, if you seek God's approval and desire to gain life through Christ.
I hope that you will also seek not only my advice, but the advice of Christ to supply your answer (John 6:63; Luke 11:13).
If you do, you will also understand the reasons behind my advice.

God expects, and rightly demands exclusive devotion... that we have no other god
(Ex.20:4-5; Matt.22:36-37; Rom.1:21-22, 25).
Sure, JW's also teach this, but like the hypocritical religious leaders in the time of Jesus... they do not obey it
(Matt.23:3; Luke 12:1; Matt.5:20).

The WT teaches...
LOOKING TO AN ORGANIZATION FOR SALVATION IS... Idolatry
Watchtower 1990 11/1 p. 26 Our Relative Subjection to the Superior Authorities
"As Christians, we face up to similar challenges today. We cannot take part in any modern version of idolatry—be it worshipful gestures toward an image or symbol or the imputing of salvation to a person or an organization."

...and yet the Watchtower Organization hypocritically says this:

ONE MUST COME TO THE WATCHTOWER ORGANIZATION FOR SALVATION
Kingdom Ministry 11/1990 p. 1  Directing Bible Students to Jehovah’s Organization
"Bible students need to get acquainted with the organization of the “one flock” Jesus spoke about at John 10:16. They must appreciate that identifying themselves with Jehovah’s organization is essential to their salvation. (Rev. 7:9, 10, 15) Therefore, we should start directing our Bible students to the organization as soon as a Bible study is established."
(These two contradictory statements above are in the same month...not even years apart !)
(Matt 12:37) (John 9:41) (Luke 12:1)
This is just one example that shows the Watchtower's hypocrisy.
This sort of idolatry by God's people has happened in the past. God was the salvation of Israel (Ex.20:2; Isa.43:11). Yet His people exchanged that truth, for a lie
(Ex.32:8,4; Rom.1:20-22,25;  2Thess. 2:9; Rev.13:11,14-15,8)
Although God does have a spirit-directed organization
(John 20:22;  Rom.5:5;  1Cor. 3:16-17; Eph.2:19-22)
(Genuine Mountain),
it is not the "Gentile" WT organization ("Jew"/"Gentile"), which is "the lie" that the WT leaders are promoting (Rev.13:15; 19:20).
It is time for waking up to the truth (Rev.14:7; 7:10)! God and His truths are our salvation... not the Organization and their doctrines.

Jesus said that we must learn his commands, and then be baptized in his name, in the name of his Father, and in the name of God's Holy Spirit (Matt.28:19-20).
But the baptism of JWs, also demands that you are baptized in the name of the organization (see JW Baptism).
The example of Christ was one of loyalty to truth, even when this caused division with religious leaders and thereby lead to his death (Luke 12:51; John 8:40). We are to imitate his love and loyalty for God's truths
(1Pet. 2:21; Mark 8:35; Rom.6:5; Heb.13:13).

The idolatry of JW's for their Organization, goes much deeper than this. But if you continue to learn, you will see this clearly as a result of that education. The additional links contained in the article I linked above, will help with that.
(Be diligent and persistent in your effort to learn. When you find it difficult or if there is something you do not understand, write to me and I will help you.)
In fact, the organization is referred to in end time prophecy, because the Organization of JW's contains within it, God's people (His priests 1Pet. 2:9-10) held captive (Luke 21:24; Rev.13:10,7). They are held captive by misleading doctrines (Col.2:8) and God calls them to get out (Rev.18:4). Why then, would you want to get into a sinking boat? According to God's Word, all that enter it, or remain in it (Luke 21:21) are going to perish (Luke 17:26-27).
According to Jesus, it is time to get out of JW's, because the "disgusting thing" is now over God's Temple priests (Matt.24:15-16;  2Thess. 2:4). Again, to be convinced of these assertions, requires an examination of that information.
(disgusting thing)
I have tried to keep my explanation, links, and the scriptures to a minimum, due to your request.
But for you to be deeply convinced yourself of these facts, you must explore them.
I encourage you to do so, along with the promising words of Jesus....
"Keep on asking and it will be given to you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." (Matt.7:7-8)

What would you pay God, to receive eternal life? (Mark 8:35-37)
We must "buy" life, by working to gain the knowledge that leads to it (Rev.3:18; John 17:3,17)...
but it is not for the price the JWs ask for (Isa.55:1; 59:15)... which is, worship of their organization (Rev.13:17,8).
If we accept unquestioning obedience to that organization, we commit idolatry. Our unquestioning obedience belongs to God alone (Obey Men).

If you do join JW's, but retain the freedom of your mind, to reason on scripture and then to obey scripture,
you will find many times when God's word conflicts with "Watchtower" teachings. God wants His teaching to be written in our heart (Deut.11:18)... not the doctrine of others (Rev.13:16)
(mark-of-beast).
If we choose loyalty to God rather than the doctrines of men, we will then be expelled from the JWs.
Despite the JW's denying this, many have found this to be true, including myself.
If you give in and surrender your mind and actions to obey the WT instead of scripture, you share in the idolatry.
When God's chosen priesthood surrenders, they have "lost their strength" (Matt.5:13; Col.4:6) (Matt.5:13; Luke 21:24; Isa.63:18; Dan.8:24; 7:25; 12:7; Rev.11:2; Matt.5:13).

God sees and knows that the WT is robbing Him of His worshipers, by making them obey their doctrines rather than the Word of God. Why join a people under God's condemnation, especially when God's wrath is so close to being expressed against them? Remember Rev.18:4.
I strongly advise continuing to learn the Bible and it's prophecies,
and being willing to pay Christ's asking price for eternal life (John 14:15; 8:31).
I am here to help you with whatever you may need (Matt.28:19-20). (Baptism Series)

When writing to me, please use the contact form at the Blog. It is on that main page on the right side column.
Using that form protects me from those who would send me a virus. I normally do not open letters as you have sent directly to my email address. So please use the "contact form" in the future.
You are in my prayers. I do hope you continue to invest your effort and time in learning. The knowledge of life is not too difficult to attain for those who truly desire it. God is faithful to those who truly seek Him.
In Christ,
Pearl

  1. A great challenge for anyone "studying" with jws and then reading Pearls blog,is that "bible study" within jws is not taught. The GB only recently said, that they would be teaching only "simple" and basic bible teachings. Why? Because if one REALLY examines the bible, then the lies within jws are seen. So they are "dumbing down" jws,so that they dont question anything. If we are having trouble understanding what Pearl is saying, then we need to learn to study the bible and UNlearn bad "bible" habits from the GB. This will take time. When taught by jws,we were told to trust the GB,not Jah through the Bible. They dont explain HOW to study the Bible, they teach us to DEPEND on the GB. Therefore,we dont need to learn how to think and really learn the art of thinking from the Bible. "Bible study", is not being told by the GB to listen unconditionally to them! We have to learn to gain "understanding".Pro 4:7 And with all your acquiring, get understanding.

The challenge for the 19YO writing to Pearl is START thinking and learning how to think from Jahs point of view instead of being told how to think. No-one can do that for you. But if you are just starting to learn the Bible, then learning how to think is part of that. It will also mean UNDOING dependency on the GB,which will be the mantra from now on for those "studying"/associating with jws. We are going to be dedicated to Jah. No-one else. Pearls teachings will take time to understand. Thats because she is not telling you what you must think, she is SHARING with us what CHRIST THINKS...and He gives REASONS for saying what He does. Pearl is the messenger. Christ is who we listen to. NOT the GB or any other human. We have to unlearn terrible non Bible ways of thinking if we "study" with jws. They are NOT saying listen to Christ, they are saying listen to the GB. This is wrong! The GB are NOT Christ. If you are thinking about being a jw,then do some research on this site about WHERE the name Yhwh's witnesses are in the Bible and who it applies to? Is it Jws? Its a stolen name that belongs only Anointed who prove faithful! So going by that name alone and how its stolen, can we "join" jws if they bear a stolen name? Its this type of REAL Bible study that will help us know what we must do to be dedicated to Jah,not an organisation.

Then there is the "hidden mantra" that we all need "gods approval". We are all insecure and have doubts about ourselves. The GB/JWs play on this.
"If we want gods approval, then we trust the GB. When we do that and do what they say,we have gained gods approval".
This is not correct! But that is what we are taught while there. There is only one way to gain Jahs Love and approval, when we listen to Christ. Its a lot to take in when young or trying to learn what Jahs Truth really is. Start with basics. Learn HOW to think in a biblical way. It takes time,so be patient. :-)
