Hi Pearl, we have always wondered about when Jesus allowed the demons to come out of the Israelite and into the heard of swine and allowed the demons to drown them in the sea (because we’re animal lovers it seemed a bit harsh of Jesus to allow this, so we thought he must have had a good reason).
Is this a symbolic drama?
You said in one of your articles that swine represent those who will greedily swallow any putrid spiritual food. Could this symbolize what happens when spiritual Israelites have been fully tested, maybe then the demons are no longer allowed access to them so they turn their attention to the swine and cause them to throw themselves into the symbolic sea.
I was thinking of this in connection with what you said a couple of answers back (see footnote). It’s possible that those who aren’t taking in the correct spiritual food will be fooled into going back to the org when it tries to reform itself after removing the harlot?
I don’t know if my reasoning makes sense, it’s just a thought. I’m still new to looking at the bible without the WT lens.

When only the feet are needed to be washed, this is because we continue to come in contact with the "dust" present in our path. There are those we preach to, who are still dead (Lev.21:1,11; Haggai 2:13). We have to remove all traces of what may linger from their unclean condition, hurtful words, false doctrines, discouragement, hatred, cursing, blasphemies
Many interpret the "man of lawlessness" as being the GB (spiritual Jews/priests/called ones/from the "earth" -Rev.13:11; 19:20; 8:10,11), not realizing that the "man of lawlessness", consists of spiritual Gentiles (non-anointed) and is the first wild beast from the "sea" (Rev.13:18,1,7; 11:2).

Jesus used swine as a consistent symbol of those who do not appreciate holiness, and as a result, like dogs, eat anything.
Wild "Swine" and "Dogs" ("thorns"), are considered so hopeless and vicious, that we are not even to offer them life (Matt.7:6; Jer.4:3; Micah7:4; 2Cor.12:7; Eze.28:24). They lack the perception and discretion to value what is holy (Prov.11:22), just as we see the elders display today...when they trample the scriptures we offer in favor of scripted lying doctrines...and tout their authority, as they menace those chosen by God with their threats. (Daniel 8:12; Matt.25:40; Rom.8:33)
I would like to briefly refer to a scripture which speaks of swine, to mention what it helps us to see.
It is Lev.11:7:
"And the pig, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you."
The action of dividing and splitting apart, means to expose what is hidden...to bring out and lay bare the hidden truth about what something contains, either good, or bad. It can expose guilt, or glory.
The foot (and the path it takes) represents our will, our goals, the record we have made with God, and the moral code we choose to live by. "Feet of copper" represents a clean path (Rev.1:15).
Copper keeps water, aseptic (free of the signs of stagnation). This is why copper was used to hold the water in God's Temple (1Kings7:23,25,38,45; Jer.52:17).
The pig (and other animals) were considered unclean in God's Mosaic Law, because either their foot was not "cloven"/split;
or because it did not chew the cud (Lev.11:7) A single, unsplit hoof, would be a concealed path. Perhaps the swine was still unclean, because when the split is inspected, guilt and uncleanness in one's path is exposed.
If the cloven foot of a swine were inspected, what would be found? Only dirt, dust, filth, and manure.
Such would go with them, wherever they went.
The pig also did not "chew the cud" (regurgitated grass). "Green grass" is a gift of God, to sustain all life. When I think of the life that results from truth, it seems to be represented by the color green.
Rev.4:3; Ps.36:9
Green grass contains that color. We know it contains a miraculous substance called chloropyl. This green substance converts light into food...a universal food. "Green" can be thought of as the source of life...
"And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food." And it was so." (Gen.1:30)
We can be assured that green grass has symbolic meaning, due to it's mention in Revelation (Rev.7:3; 8:7; 9:4).
I believe it to represent truthful food, due to many scriptural references....food that contains light/life from God. It contains it, because of the light of the sun (Rev.1:16; 2Cor.4:6),
and the rains from heaven (Ex.16:4; John6:51; Isa.55:10,11; Jer.10:13; Acts14:17).
I assume you understand what those symbolize.
My point is that, swine do not "chew the cud". They naturally do not prefer green grass, nor ruminate over it, to derive every blessing it contains.
They are not careful to re-think what they have already accepted (1Cor.3:18; 1Thess.5:20,21; 1John4:1).
As we have already mentioned, it's appetite is indiscreet.
Remember that Jesus did not force the herd of swine to accept demon possession, but rather, the demons asked (upon their being cast out of the Israelite) to enter the swine (Mark5:12).

Thanks Pearl, there’s SO much good info in your reply. I’ve been trying to work out what feet symbolize for a while now after reading John13:4-15. John13:10 says; after washing the apostles feet Jesus said; ”whoever has bathed does not need to have more than his feet washed”.
So I’m guessing being bathed is being cleansed by means of the word of God? I was wondering why he said for his followers to wash each other’s feet. In view of what Jesus said it seemed that feet have a symbolic meaning. So with your explanation of what they symbolize perhaps the washing of each other’s feet is something along the lines of helping each other to have a clean path in our service to God??
That lead me to wondering about dust as in Matt.10:14 "shake the dust off your feet" and the similar scriptures. Dan.12:2 says “many of those asleep in the dust of the earth will wake up”. And Gen.3:19 “For dust you are and to dust you will return”, I wonder if dust might represent the spiritually dead or asleep. But if that’s the case then what do Gen.3:14 and Isa.65:25 mean by saying the serpents food will be dust? The bible is so exciting; there are so many hidden treasures to dig for.

This is the same dust we brush off toward them, because those who do not accept truth, do not accept Christ and God who sent us. When we wash one another's feet; we disarm the hurtful effects of contact with the dead. We encourage, comfort, and exhort one another. Remember that the Body of Christ is built up by each of it's members...

Yes, the scriptures are a hidden trove of knowledge. When Rev.20:12 tells us that "scrolls are opened" (Luke24:32); we begin to gain insight into just how deep the knowledge of God is,
and just how mistaken those are, who think they already know all the Bible already
(Isa.5:21; 1Cor.3:18; 1:20; 8:2; Rom.1:21,22,25) (1Cor.4:5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14).
Those are the ones Christ speaks to at Rev.3:17,
and as we are now able to perceive,
speaks to those providing provisions to "J.W.'s".
"Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?" (Rom.11:33,34)
"Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. 16 For, 'Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?'

we grieve and sorrow for our sins...so much so, that we feel unworthy for Christ's path to have ever crossed ours.
We wish we could remove whatever sins of ours, that may have soiled his feet, and we long to remove them from before him,

Rumination is a miracle of creation. Within the ruminators stomachs,enzymes change basic elements into other elements useful for man. Have you ever wondered where all the "cowcium"/calcium comes from? There is NONE within grass and it must come from some-where. Special enzymes within their stomachs turn SILICA into CALCIUM,because grass is high in Silica. If there was no ruminating,the enzymes would not work. Each stomach has its purpose in this miracle of changing silica into calcium.
ReplyDeleteThe miracle for us is if we ruminate on what we learn,then Jahs Holy Spirit changes what we learn into a miracle of Love of truth. Without giving thought and constantly going over what we learn so as to show appreciation,then we gain very little from Jahs teachings. If we do meditate/ruminate,It will go from our heads,to our other stomach,the Heart,where the real miracle happens and Love works it miracle. Does knowledge on its own produce Love? No. But once we ruminate on knowledge of Jah,it changes by a miracle of Holy Spirit to something that can give us life.
