Mankind WAS made with the same moral ...Hello Peely,
Mankind WAS made with the same moral compass as God. God is FREE and fully capable of choosing good or bad. God is in no way limited, nor forced to be good. He created Man in His image, with the same free will. If mankind had no choices before him, would he really have free will, capable of CHOICE, as God is? The "tree of knowledge" afforded Adam and Eve (and all their children to follow) free will and choice. Only obedience to God and living according to his sayings of life, results in happiness and incorruption. This is why Satan is called "the father of the lie". It is a lie to expect anything beneficial when leaving obedience to God's sayings. God's sayings of life are symbolized in the fruit from the tree of life. Satan's deceptive lies are symbolized by the rotten fruit which brings with it, a personal intimacy with "bad". This symbolism of "fruit" and "trees" is not unique to the account of Eden. We are all faced with the same choice as Adam and Eve. We have before us the same trees. The tree of death will not be removed until all have made their free-will choice, as to whose teachings ("fruit") they have an appetite for. Our Heavenly Father does not want children unlike Himself. He consistently turns away from evil by choice, and is always loving, by choice. Like Him, we must CHOOSE to love goodness and truth, long for and love God's laws, and love obeying them out of our hearts appreciation for them, if we would really be His children. How could we really be so, and manifest these divine traits, if we were never given a choice?
If Adam and Eve did not have the same "moral compass" as God, they would not have been capable of shame and guilt, over their bad choice. Like God, they knew which choice was right, and which choice was wrong. God made sure of this by warning them, previous to their free-will choice.Pearl Doxseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13281232149590681155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8632498717588187342.post-24799349804927833452013-05-27T06:21:10.061-07:002013-05-27T06:21:10.061-07:00Thank you, Pearl. I'm understanding God's ...Thank you, Pearl. I'm understanding God's righteous justice and righteous permission which allows Satan to continue on his path of destruction. There is though, the age-old and nagging question. Why didn't the Almighty create angels and man with the same moral compass as his own, which would have alleviated the Tree of Knowledge as well as the Father of the Lie? I would love your view on this.
Love,
peely peelynoreply@blogger.com
