The Bible itself explains Armageddon.
The idea that it means an execution by God, by means of literal fire, is an idea that comes from man... who are sourcing their understanding by human reasoning, rather than scripture (Jer.23:29; 20:9; Jer.5:14NIV ; Rev.11:5; Matt.10:20).
Armageddon is explained, at Rev.16:13-16.
That battle is also talked about in other verses, which add to our knowledge about that battle (Rev.9:7,9; 20:8; 12:7,17; 13:7; 17:14; 19:19; 13:10; Col.2:8; Luke 21:24).
If you read Rev.16:13-16, you will see that three "demonic spirits"/utterances/teachings... that "look like frogs" are what causes "kings" to gather for that battle.

There are two opposing sides... Satan's deceptive doctrine sourced in the dark Abyss and it's agents, against the enlightening truths of Christ, sourced in scripture.
